I just love it when people say drift event in carbon and underground are better because in those 3 game, as soon as you in drift mode your car become super slippery like it on ice, even a fwd civic can drift without the use of a brake.
And they say *THAT* is more realistic
it is obviously not realistic, but at least it looks better than this boring powerslide from heat lol
Fell If you try to just turn and full throttle in like a 400 bhp drift car, you’d definitely spin out. For slower cars, they’re easy to drift, but they probably won’t score as much points as a higher horsepower car, which you need to be good at counter steering and throttle control, or else you will spin out. Tbh, i really like the drifting with exception of the physics, which is kinda janky. Of course im comparing this to the previous games, if i compare this to forza the yeah its worse

@@fiso64 its really not even drifting here, only power sliding, where you accelerate right before or when youre in a turn.
forza horizon 4 actually requires the use of the brakes (be it handbrake or regular) for a nice drift.

I have to say something... The drifting in Heat is bad... But overall the game is damn good. Just not a fan of the horrible drift physics. Nice driving, man! You make it look fairly easy.

@@supersonic4863 Well. There is no confusion on my end. RWD car = drifting. AWD car = Powersliding. Done!
Looks like just rolling burnout rather than a drift. From the looks of it, the cars in this game lack mass so there's no sense of throwing the weight around.
@@dekoldrick Very true. You can't easily flick the drift into the next corner. You have to blip your brake or gas again to get the slide going... Needs some work for sure!

@@kyonbrace5487 Initial D style is usually more of a 4 wheel drift, which this is not.
@@absolutezero7344 or a handbrake drift in earlier parts, in the first 3 stages everyone except takumi uses a handbrake drift.
@@heromannickbggaming287 its not about the physics here, this literally isnt an actual drift, but a mere powerslide, the difference being powersliding is just stepping on the gas right before or in a turn, drifting requires braking at the very right moment. the only braking here is slowing down for the turns so you dont crash but theres not even much of that either.
Some things about video:
1. He is drifting so well because he set brake to drift etc.
2. Also using drift/speedcross tires because showcase tires give grip.
3. Yellow RX7 in night on hill route... hmmm yes

Everyone in the comments talking about the drifting being bad. Take it from me, who has actually played the game as well and attempted the drifting, It’s fun as hell. It difficult but once you get the hang of it it’s quite easy. You need a little bit of throttle control, steering control, and focus. You actually have to properly counter steer or else you’ll lose control. Trust me, seeing it will never be enough. You have to play it to see how fun it is.
No, this game's drifting is just really bad., every cars feel like they're on slick tires and you're forcing them to lose control. However their off-road slides are actually closer to irl drifting lol.

I use them for both track and drift cars for smoother(?) transitons, however it still doesn’t change the fact that their double gas tap is not the actual clutch-kick.

IMO Grid 2 had the most fun arcade drift physics. At least you had to apply throttle control and countersteer while you're doing them, so it wasn't some watered-down BS that a nine year old can master.
I strongly disagree Grid 2 was the worst game ever when it came down to drifting, I hated it personally, but of course to each their own.

McLaren F1 '94 I have, I played the trial but I really didn’t get a good feel for the drifting since grip was what I was mostly interested on. But I don recall my experience being that bad, with a wheel(Thrustmaster T150) it was horrible but with a controller it was meh.

Everyone complained so much about the drift focused physics that now everyone is complaining for the opposite reason.
Actually the drifting isn’t as bad as everyone thinks the first mission that car doesn’t seem like it’s set up for drifting cause when you make your own drift car it actually kicks out
yes and with better parts, you can make awesome chains and beautiful, long slides. i am glad, that my impression with drifts, were bad...it is really fun

Yup, it's annoying how hard is to pull high score drifts in this game, I retried the first intro drift race with RX-7 for 3 times!

Multiple nitrous bottles would've been a better choice for drifting.

Try the RX-7. It has good drifting. Just don’t max it out to the drift setting as it can completely make the car uncontrollable.
As long as you tell your mind you arent going to see huge angle then i think you can actually "drift" in this game but if you come into it thinking you're going to be able to do a reverse entry, you're gonna have a bad time.

The drifting is basically meh. It’s just going fast and spinning out, not handbrake drifting. Also proximity is broken as hell
Still think *drift* and *drag* mechanics will never be able to rival that of NFS Underground 2 or ProStreet. Seems everything is just stiff or trying too hard to be realistic when it all should be arcade-y like the actual game.

II-Small_Brah-II i used the volvo amazon with a v8 swap and some upgrades but i’m sure something else would work better. Try something that is already biased toward offroad handling out the gate.

In Payback it always felt as if I was under steering the car whenever I drifted and that over steer was impossible.

I played ghost's nfs 18 19 20 21, gotta say heat's drifting physics is a worse one. Too much speed lost, and cars are likely to snap into grip when transitioning drift into another direction.

In other games like mw2012 or Rivals, drift was so fast. And the people hated it

I drifted with a Subaru BRZ and a Mitsubishi Evo, and both handled pretty well. (Check my channel for proof).
The Rx-7 though... too out of control for me.
Also, I feel like the female VA for the player did better acting than the male VA for the player.

Hot Pursuit formula, back then in the late 90's - early 2000's? The most elemental thing about NFS games and they failed to accomplish that 3 times! But at the same time, is not entirely their fault. I mean, working for EA sucks (unless you're working in FiFa or Madden NFL), just ask to people who work in Black Box, Criterion, Slighty Mad, DICE, Bioware, Visceral Games and Now Codemasters.

crew 2 has overpowered drifts, heat doesnt have any based on this video. There is almost no grip, no anything. Shift first, has best drifts.

David Booth manual is overall better than automatic.
@@Doodxe I heard here manual is bit broken for the controllers. Plus there is no indication if he is playing on auto/manual - not even blinking red just like NFS 2015/Payback. The only way to tell if he is playing in manual/auto is the shifting.
HeroManNickBG Gaming the issue with with manual is a glitch where buttons click twice when you only press it once. It’s happened to me but never while driving, only when I’ve pressed circle to back out of something. Also at 10:05 you can see him go from 3rd to reverse
