When I was in the Seabees 78-83, I seen so much brand new equipment just sitting in warehouses. I also seen equipment that was totally reconditioned in newly built facilities that were ran by civilians in Gulfport Mississippi. We mostly ran TD 20s and 25s but when I was getting out they started bringing in Cats with ROPS. It was amazing seeing equipment with barely any hours on it.
What's the price tag on that unit? Bought one just like it a few years ago with 400 hours on it. Absolutely no problems whatsoever. I'd rather have it than a brand new one. I believe you guys do the best restoration work than anyone I have ever seen. Wish I lived closer to your location, but it's probably for the best that I don't. I'd go broke buying equipment!
Nice machine. I would sometimes run a CAT 8K that was almost like that 7 at a coal prep plant back in the early 1990's. We had newer & larger CAT's, an 8N, plus several 9L's but they kept the old 8K around in case they had any break downs. It didn't have an enclosed cab either & I remember having to wear a dust respirator when I'd have to push coal with it.
When I was in the Army we would run the winch cable down to the hitch pin and just snug it to keep the cable neatly wound on the drum We only had the D7E’s from 68 and before the ROPS was mandatory

I have a D6 Caterpillar C bulldozer, it is very good and powerful, it is healthy and I work with it
