My 3 man team did this for several hours yesterday at a station. I towed ships away from armistice, and my buddies scrapped and munched them up. Sweet sweet payday today.
that is what i want to do. if you swiped them and another vulture scraped and munched and another had like a taurus and loaded up the cargo then went to sell it you could make big bank
@@tiamatthedragon6758 yep we started with two vultures and ended with a caterpillar and a reclaimer. By the end I had towed away 2 caracks, a C2 an A2 a Hull C, 3 corsairs, and I didn’t keep track of “fighter sized”. We ended up leaving 5 other abandoned ships because we were getting tired. I tell you one thing towing an A2 in a single SRV is PAINFUL! Get a buddy with another SRV to get those cause I was only able to tow it at 5-8 m/s and I had to keep going back to get it when the tether would break. I burned 1/2 a tank of hydrogen fuel just getting the thing from station to outside armistice.
So it takes a while to do solo, but here is the order. Take out a reclaimer or vulture and land it on the pads. Go back to the hanger and get the SRV, tow the vulture out to a safe distance and fly back to the pads. Find the ship you want to scrap. Tow it over to your salvage ship and Bob is your uncle.
so about a hour ago i found a pisces on the pad. it still had engines on. lucky for me he left the door open. landed and turned them off took off again. used the tractor on the vulture and started to tow it away. only moved it a bit away from the station. i got a crime stat lvl 1. then scraped it and got a lv 2 crime stat. then munched it. went back in to station and went to run myself in and it said 3 violations at 20k each. so turned my self in get out tomorrow. so why did i get crime stats for what i did? how are you towing a ship away? and the ship did not have a character name on it. just the regular code.
I bet you were in comm range so it was illegal to tow or salvage a player owned ship. You'll see a little warning message when you tow a ship. You get 10 seconds before you get a violation so make sure to look out for it. Sometimes if the ship has been abandoned for long enough you can tow it away without getting a crime stat but you'll have to look very closely to see if it's legal. I didn't get crime stat because I was at grimhex out of comm range
CiG: “we cant work on the backlog because we need to complete the feature before we release the ship that uses the feature.” Also CiG: here is the Hawk. It has a bounty pod for when bounty hunting 2.0 is out. Here is the starfarer. It will be useful when refueling is more implemented. Here is the 890 jump. It will be useful when the transportation gameloop is in. Here is the SRV. It will be useful when insurance isn’t free for everyone and losing a ship is impactful. No. The truth is they’ve already sold those ships and made their money. So they want to make new ones to make more money. They don’t care about making backlogged ships.
you can smash and fit speeders in the cargo on the srv, it doesnt got guns right? not sure if i didnt equip or if it has no slots, but a bike can have guns i think they persist if you put them to the side, too, abandonded ships like this should be allowed to unlock guns
Sorry but I think I missed an important detail. Why do you suppose that you were able to sell the Buccaneer guns and not the C1's? Weren't they stock parts in both cases? Or was it a question of the C1 still be "owned?" Great video, I love your sense of adventure to try out new game loops.
If a player's ship is left for long enough after the player has logged off, the ship no longer belongs to that player and becomes server-owned. The Buccaneer became server-owned, whereas the C1 was still player-owned since it was probably not abandoned for that long, so the original player still had ownership of it. If you salvage stock components from a server-owned ship then you can also sell the components but can't with player-owned.
@@TheCoreGameplay If you soft killed it, It wouldn´t be player owned anymore or shouldn´t be atleast and you won´t get crimestat in Grim Hex, going to try this tomorrow.
@@SpaceDad42 You can definitely sell stock guns tho, I have ever stripped weapons from salvage missions ships and these are always stock aren't they? you can only sell them in the shops that also have them for sale tho. Anyway they pay you crap... One deadbolt V costs 70k (data from erkul i have never crosschecked) but they give you like 4 or 5k for it. Stuff from NPCs/server owned I mean. If actively from players would trigger too much insurance fraud ofc.

I want the SRV towing while in quantum travelling like in the past
@@XD9rottie before I had any salvage vessels, I would use my SRV for the illegal hammerhead mission to at least get the 250k
Laugged when your Drake bike one shots buccaneer and you say: 'well that definitely done it"
Would love to see more of this game play
I'm planning on it

Never knew towing with the SRV is such a fun game loop. I definitely get one.
It's definitely a fun one but I wish they would make components selling worth the time it takes to gather
In the past you could open doors with the oxitorch multi tool
You can tow a hammerhead with the SRV
That corsair wouldn't move but maybe I need to yoink that thing hard. I'm still new to the little ship

@@TheCoreGameplay and can you tow ships of npc (vangul), without CS ?
I think you just out pirated Voidy. Why take cargo, take the whole ship and all. We will enjoy the escalation.
it would be pretty funny to just pick someone's ship up and leave with it while they loading
SRV needs to be able to quantum while towing and allow salvaging in personal hangars.
They broke its quantum towing in 3.23. We can thank the insurance fraud for not being able to salvage in the hangars.
@@josephhighfill4371 Thanks for that info, hopefully it will be restored soon.
I never got confirmation but can you quantum while towing?
I haven't tried yet
Used to be able to, but master modes put salvage, towing, etc in SCM mode, so no.
The SRV is my daily driver, I really enjoy a good unowned ship find.
Just wish it was eqsier to sell component's
And more money for them please. Right now the prices doesn't always make sense

No. The truth is they’ve already sold those ships and made their money. So they want to make new ones to make more money. They don’t care about making backlogged ships.
Is it going to be profitable since they nerfed salvaging.

Can the srv tractor ships with shields on?
Unfortunately it can't

You enter ship and turn off shields first. Same to salvage a ship. .
You can't sell player components, you can sell NPC componenets.
That buc wasn't landed by a npc
@@TheCoreGameplay hmmm odd 🤔
You can if they are not stock. Stock components are not sellable to prevent insurance fraud.
