As a verified deranged, unhinged, and weak dummy who can't think for myself, the editing in this one is godly. And I thank you for your sacrifice to help us weak links XD
I feel like I'm sitting on papa Horse's lap as he gently guides me through a game mode I have no intention of ever touching (I have literally never had need for module resources, I just buy them from events and have yet to ever run out) and is occasionally assaulted by birds and says cicawhda and I thoroughly enjoy it.
Eha, I just want to let you know how much I’ve appreciated this series of yours. As a new/returning player as well as a certified dumbass that doesn’t like to think. I was really worried about SSS and your series came just in time to help me learn. Plus your humour is wonderful and kept the information flow interesting and engaging.
I want to thank you for really put in an effort to make SSS more manageable for the community. I personally have found it really frustrating watching decently-sized contingents of the community just dismiss gamemodes without making an effort to learn how they work or how they can make them work for them. Can bad RNG end an IS run? Yes. Is SSS a little tedious? Yes. Was Pinch-Out balanced poorly? Yes. Is RA a little opaque and grindy? Yes, but I love it. Does that make these modes worthless, terrible net negatives to the game. That's up to you, the player; but for me, no. I love how much HG has been trying to experiment with the game over the last two years and have had a great time trying to digest each new mode. I love this game and I love playing it even if sometimes I get a little frustrated. You don't have to like every new mode, but I and HG would really appreciate you to give it a chance. If you go in expecting or knowing you'll hate something, just how exactly do you expect you will come out of it? Thank you Eha, from a long-time lurker and fan.
really love this unscripted content! hope to catch a stream from you next time youre live. and keeping calm especially during the last few parts of the run helped to really emphasise how *fine* this mode is. not perfect by all means, but definitely not as bad as a lot of people pretend it is
Thanks so much for making this! Before seeing this I was super confused about SSS (I kinda thought you needed 20 different built meta ops or something) and now I’ll give it a shot.
1:11:55 I know someone who has an actual milk allergy. It's not lactose intolerance; it's a true allergy, as in, he gets anaphylaxis when he consumes milk or milk products. It's kind of interesting because it's a fairly unique condition that seems to depend only on having being born in a certain area of the world, not on one's genetics.
I personaly never used a Specialist A to get back a downed operator, I just use them the same way as supporters, they get your operator back in your hand, so they are a versatile buff as well.
1:13:33 You can change it to give you completely random operators. On the class Tactical Equipment selection screen at the start, there's a button on the bottom-left labeled "Change Plan" with the currently selected plan next to it. If you tap that, it will let you choose between "Preferred Plan" to get leveled operators (the default) and "Free Plan" to get random operators.
i appreciate all the effort that goes into these, i think im one of the few people that enjoys SSS, because i am insane, but that this is here is good.
man, after the first video i thought i was already doing everything right but after watching the other two i learned some stuff that should have been pretty obvious and logical to think of but i somehow never did, thanks for that
I'm a bit concerned about people who not seeing the potential of specialist in SSS. When the question on around 17:25 appear (and checking the class buff you choose) i have 2 answer, rope or roberta. Roberta as draw power is useful but rope as specialist is a nice recycle tools for your fooder or even your rooster when they are ded (since you bring medic A not B).
Great video, clear commentary, instructive gameplay *sees **24:30* Terrible video, incomprehensible commentary, gameplay ruined my day and my life and my marriage *upvotes anyways*
If a fourth video, could you perhaps showcase some of the more fun and 'unusual' teamcomps/carries and how you can use the stage-specific gear to buff those? Greatly appreciated this series, especially the intro.
I have to thank you for this series. I don't level up modules so I never bothered with SSS but now I tried it and it's genuinely so much fun for me. Thanks man!
This video helped so much, though it also made me realize how much I've been neglecting leveling my lower level operators. While I was able to clear the normal mode for the first time, the standard mode was impossible due to most of my vanguards being under-leveled. I mostly rely on Flagpipe, so there's never been a need for others until now.
Thank you very much for this lovely series. As someone who only tried playing SSS once (suffered and failed at LT-8, because I was that guy using Lappland), your series made me want to give it another shot and experiment with different, unique and challenging ideas such as activating Mlynar's skill. ❤
I admit that i rarely touch my SSS. Maybe less than 10 times 😂 But this series give me knowledge and most importantly insight through your detailed explanations. I may able to grasp a glimpse of beauty from this mode. Definitely will try SSS this weekend. Thanks for the upload! Bless you sir.

I wanted to thank you very much for this guide, I was able to clear with my mains being GG, Ho'ol, and Irine thanks to you. I would argue that there's a place for ranged vanguards *if* you're using them like a replacement/supplement for snipers, since the extra SP is really helpful in reducing the long uptime of ho'ol and GG. Specialist equip B would also work, but those idiots don't gen DP
I hate you, you made me go and complete the currrent SSS maps and now I kinda get it but I also still don't have Goldenglow and she's one of my all time favorite units and every time I start a run and I need to pick her from support it hurts me physically. Ty for these videos
a note for everyone, you can take the robots if you want. they are dirt cheap with 3 dp, unless you are using specialist a you dont care about their 300 sec cd. hell, since they dont take a deployment slot, you could in theory stack 5 medics under lancet and then give everyone a 50% dmg intake reduction.
Warning random thoughts I had: IMO I think there's a big reason why IS is pretty loved as a game mode when we got it, since it was (usually) still just regular old AK gameplay with a few extra sparkles whenever you got to the stages themselves. but SSS and RA force you to think and strategize in a completely new way with teambuilding and planning and can feel quite alien at first, and might take you hours just to get used to it. So I finally did SSS after watching your part2 vid and I cleared both Papa John and Raythean, standard mode ofc but still, hella surprised ngl. Your vid did help me get my bearing to do dumb sht for clears I appreciate it Oh and you brought an interesting point for discussion, SSS is a farming stage yes but with extra step, this is what I don't like the most about this mode. In comparison we also have long and tedious farming stage that is Annihilation but it's very straightforward no special rules just deploy ops get a clean clear then just auto/proxy the rest of it and be done with it. you can't do that with SSS. Regarding this mode's scaled down difficulty that makes it less challenging, I don't have anything to say on this since I never cleared it after release, I tried once it was bullsht and never touched it again. But if we're talking high difficulty mode that you can play around with then there's IS and CC, I enjoyed these modes despite their high entry bar because they are intended to be "endgame" content. Now here's why I personally don't enjoy SSS, this mode tried to be endgame while masquerading as farming stage, is how I would describe SSS mode. There is 2 way they can fix this, by tweaking the farming aspect or scaled down the difficulty, we all know they did the later, is it a good fix tho? I don't know. Yes as a feeder, and no if you dont know how to use em (as a feeder). I use lv.1 robots since they cost 3-5 DP to gain stacks fast early on. Thats about it, their use in SSS...or emergency buffs from them
Of course it will be harder with a lot of low level ops. I'd recommend borrowing a REALLY broken operator (like Irene preferably) because you can cope with low lvl ops if you have a super broken one carrying you. But please keep in mind that if you want modules, you don't have to play SSS. The game offers a lot of module materials from normal events (in the shop) so don't sweat it if you can't do SSS yet :)
30:40 Dawg your voice and your topics? you should not be an Arknights youtuber. On a real note: I only got 2 E2 (After 2 anniversary) so don't plan on ever doing this, but this video was nice to listen to.
The funny part about this is i should not been watching this bcause i already know how to play sss with a consistent squad and i have too much mod upgrade to justify putting time to it but im too lazy to do anything else so yeah either way still learn new thing thx allot eha
Although i already surmised some foundation of how to play SSS from your previous two videos, i will still watch this video to hear your reasoning on some specific use cases of ops, even if i don't have them built and will substitute on my own. If i don't watch it at least the team-building part of your vid, i risk running into failed runs, and wasting time has got to be the most turn-off part of this game. So thank you, uhhh what do you want to be called again, mister video maker?
why are tactician vanguards bad? wouldnt being able to skillcycle astgenne a bit faster be a good thing? Like sure ,1 vanguard 4 sniper attacks slower than 5 snipers, but I dont see it being a lower dps?
They are good since their long redeployment time is usually ignored (unless stacked with Specialist A), they can provide stack buffs at a cheap cost (THRM-EX has quite a short time before exploding and losing all stacks), and are rarely used for emergencies (Lancet-2 for healing, Justice Knight for damage, Castle-3 or Friston-3 for blocking, and THRM-EX for debuff). Of course, their own damage, healing and survivability is pretty horrible, so they are just mostly there for the stack buffs and delaying operator retreat, since operators that have died will start a retreat timer, then a robot can be stacked to that operator to remove that retreat timer (or delay that retreat timer).

great video (I'll watch it later)
a note for everyone, you can take the robots if you want. they are dirt cheap with 3 dp, unless you are using specialist a you dont care about their 300 sec cd.
hell, since they dont take a deployment slot, you could in theory stack 5 medics under lancet and then give everyone a 50% dmg intake reduction.
1 HOUR VIDEOOO??? FOR FREEE???
this is gonna be helpful. Thanks, friendly neighborhood horse man
love your editing style horseman keep it up maybe one day we'll all get our own grani
Thank you uncle horseknights
Warning random thoughts I had:
IMO I think there's a big reason why IS is pretty loved as a game mode when we got it, since it was (usually) still just regular old AK gameplay with a few extra sparkles whenever you got to the stages themselves.
but SSS and RA force you to think and strategize in a completely new way with teambuilding and planning and can feel quite alien at first, and might take you hours just to get used to it. It feels like a different game and I understand not everyone wants that, me included, I still feel that the tutorials for these could use some improvements.
Thx for the great ASMR tho.
Almost 1.5h of horseman content, Christmas came early
Arknights modes have a progression for me. First, their mechanics are goofy, and my temper is lost. Second, the pieces start coming together, and the mode becomes an interesting puzzle to solve. Oh and you brought an interesting point for discussion, SSS is a farming stage yes but with extra step, this is what I don't like the most about this mode. In comparison we also have long and tedious farming stage that is Annihilation but it's very straightforward no special rules just deploy ops get a clean clear then just auto/proxy the rest of it and be done with it. you can't do that with SSS. Do people starts playing this mode more after the fix? I don't think so because let's be real the reward isn't worth it. The goal of clearing SSS is to obtain mats for module but here's the thing event shop gave more than enough module mats, I don't touch SSS yet I was able to get 2 full squads worth of module to lv3 making the whole premise of the mode entirely useless.

I am 4 parallel universes ahead of you
59:43 I think, someone is going to be really happy with your choice :)
The best part is if you know what you do in SSS strat doesn't need to be consistent
Was kinda hoping that there'd be Irene's forehead in a corner for the ENTIRE video :C

This is my only question, how good is Executor the Ex Foedere in SSS?
I WANT TO SEE YOUR FULL IS CLEAR WITH COMMENTARY
Tacticians aren't bad I just don't want to assume that you have 4 specific operators raised. Ultimately it doesn't matter

Why isn't eha a horse😢
is robots good for this gamemode?
