For context, he recorded it January 2020 so it was before news of the lawsuit came out.
Edit: to clarify about the "lawsuit". Kmoos have collected evidence of malicious comments from a group of eric kfans and are pressing charges. Before this, we had no idea that some knams were doing this. If you look through the comments of this video, you can find more details if you are interested. Moos aren't completely innocent in this situation either. As solar said, the hate and hostility from both fandoms needs to stop. It is affecting them both negatively.

Honestly i was really hoping that they would be friends or keep in contact even after the show because their relationship was cute..but i didnt know that they were getting hate because of it..omg fans need to wake up and realize that the idols are human too..they can be friends with who ever they want and even be in a relationship with anyone. Honestly the toxic and bullshit fandoms are the main reason that kpop keeps getting shat on for. Every single fandom, no matter how wholesome the idol is, has to be toxic for some reason, defending their idols in situations they make up from nothing. Its a fuckin cesspit. @Taej i became an army in 2015 too, and ik how army and exol thing got worse around the end of 2016 , just how armys vs blink thing has become now.......but honestly, exo and bts have been friends even when the fanwars were worse between their fandoms, now it has become a lot better, i think its just that exo and bts members have become really busy and exo isn't attending much award shows too, plus the members have started enlisting too so that is the reason we dont see much interactions of exo and bts members.......but definitely these fanwars do make things really awkward for idols and that is what i really hate.
That's why I'm not in any fandom. I listen to kpop because of the music and the idols. Fandoms need to chill and just support their biases works which is their music.

She's brave for calling out both their fans, not every artists can do that. Others just keep silent or tend to be over protective to their fans. I think that's another reason why fans get toxic, they don't get called out by their idols.
All kpop idols should do this more often. If their fans are misbehaving, they should tell them to stop..

i just wanna say that i'm glad that both solar and eric nam (on his podcast) addressed these issues and they're very brave to do that because usually when idols are faced these problems, sometimes their management would restraint them for talking about it and just act like nothing happened. now that it has been made very clear by your faves, i hope the fans can please just mind your own business and support your artist without giving hate to the others.

Pear Ave I love your message as a fan of Eric Nam and a Stan of Mamamoo, I agree with what you said. Seriously, as a real fan, I loved that they did WGM, not only did it give them more exposure, but it gave me a warm feeling inside seeing them together even though I knew it wasn't real. Its like watching a RomCom, without the prolonged script and actual actors playing the roles. It was beautiful while it last. But with the crazy Moomoos and Nams, I was disappointed in them. They took a show that clearly stated it was fake, and made it bad. MoonSun isn't real, its fan made! That is what I feel like screaming in each of these idiots faces. As a fellow Moomoo, I an ashamed and embarrassed as well as attacked, because of this four year pettiness, between crazy Moomoos and Nams.
You can see Solar constantly looking at her side, probably her manager warning her to be careful with her words, but Solar just went head-on with the issue and stated facts, same with Eric. These very hard working & sincere people do not deserve all the hate when all they did in WGM was care for each other.
Seeing Eric + Mamamoo at KContact was really nice - they looked like they were having a lot of fun. That's how it should be. It floors me that there are Kpop fans could hate on their fave artists and not want them to be romantically involved, whether it's manufactured or real. Fans are meant to be admirers and do not own people as if they're slaves, jeez. These are artists with feelings, too, and they're just there to do and share what they love to do.

I never hated idols but I used to have misplaced hatred in my life, and know people who are still like this, so I can tell where it comes from.
One thing I love about solar is that she's so outspoken and doesn't take anyone's bullshit. I haven't listened much to Eric Nam or kept up with him recently (though "can't help myself" is a bop and on my daily playlist) but I love him and I love solar and it breaks my heart to see so many "fans" being so toxic toward their (professional) relationship. I doubt these "fans" will listen to Solar's words, but I appreciate and admire her telling them to fuck off.

When eric kissed solar on cheeks then people literally spammed whole comment section with "moonbyul is jealous, solar's wife hwasa must be jealous, hwasa was going to punch eric". I was literally so confused because I didn't knew anything about mamamoo. I just watched wgm for entertainment. My mind was blank at that moment and for a second I really thought that solar is really in a relationship with her group member. That's how some fans make it look like.its going too far nowadays. Some fans literally send death threats to both solar and eric but eric's case was worse. He got bashed very badly. So, in conclusion please be respectful and don't ruin idol's friendship for your fantasy.

Shipping Mamamoo with each other is very common in the fandom because they're obviously so close that they're comfortable with skinships, but I have to agree with you that the jokes can sometimes become delusional fantasies. Some fans need to get to their senses and stop such nonsense because it makes Mamamoo and other idols uncomfortable
At lot of the shipping comments are just jokes, it’s the ones which cross line by throwing hate are problematic.
Like when I was watching it I was like ooo Moonbyul gonna be mad, but in a fun way because I know how close they are. But there are some Moomoo's that believes the hype. Every time I see comments that seem serious I always be like "chill people, you really think the members are in secret relationships with one another, come on! All that stuff Mamamoo does on stage is fan service. The way Mamamoo is strong and we do what we want and not afraid of criticism, probably would've said something by now."

I am a MoonSun shipper, but in a if only if only way, like hmm interesting, this is probably what they would look like if they were attracted to each other in any sort of way possible. But, they're not, just really close and best friends. And that is bad, because crazies in the fandom are really going to believe they are really together. I am a Moomoo, but unlike some of these Moomoos, I know when its real or not. Love their chemistry, wish, but maybe will never happen.

Honestly nothing good ever comes out of WGM. Almost every idol that participated in the show got hate from the opposite party’s fandom. I don’t know why companies would put their idols through the show knowing this would happen..
They may get some hate but the participants get exposed to the general audience. They get fixed TV airtime on a popular show to show their charms. A lot of them are upcoming stars people vaguely know only their names..

Honestly, the only reason why they are awkward around each other is because of the fans. The immature and really delusional fans keep hating on solar and Eric which is making them feel uncomfortable. They don’t wanna receive hate so I act distance but then that gets misunderstood with them hating each other but if they were affectionate, they’d get hate cuz they were “betraying their fans” by dating even if they aren’t. Fans grew more and more immature and overprotective as kpop became popular. I also kinda wished idols would stop the “I only belong to my fans” bullshit because all it does is bring up the fan’s hopes. I get it’s fan service but it also does a lot of damage. I’ve seen ARMYS always use the excuse “but bts said we were their girlfriends” when there is some sort of dating rumor that affect BTS. this is coming from a army from 4 years and yes it's true and since our fandom is kinda the biggest we have lots of immature fans who literally act like they own bts (mostly some crazy solo stans who don't even let other armys live in peace) but mostly armys joke around (on twitter) and would be really happy if they get a gf i just hope every kpop idol can date freely :(

I'm glad Solar address led both fandoms. I was one of the people who got bullied by toxic ms shippers just because I was very vocal that I liked Solar and Eric together on WGM. It had a huge effect on my mental health back then, but that I already forgave them for what they did.

I hope we'll see Eric Lam on Solarsido, and to show that both Eric & Solar are still friendly with each other, and both fandoms should stop harassing each other (although I don't think most MooMoo did it).
Me too, not just a collab but to address this whole thing once and for all. I know it’s not their responsibility to fix this problem since they were not the people who started the “hate throwing” but i wanted them to tell the fans and antis point blank from their own words to just stop. I know they both have said their share on separate accounts but saying it for the last time in the same time together would send a very clear message without misunderstanding.
@@4withsun_byul I think at this point it doesn’t matter if moomoos didn’t start it. Both parties got hurt and both ends are second guessing interacting with each other because of this. When this started blowing up I won’t put it past moos to reply with some harsh words, but I don’t blame them either. Something or someone must have triggered them badly to throw hurtful words. Regardless, I still thinks it best for them to address this once and for all together.

A few questions though, 1. does Eric Nam know of these fans behavior? Because the way he told the story about the issue (Dive Studio), granted he didn’t say much, it seemed like moomoos were equally at fault. Which based on the summary you sited, is not the case at all.
2.Does Solar unnie know the root cause of these whole issue?
3. Where there any response from both parties’ agency?
4. Are they still doing it today? (Eric Nam’s fans)

@@little_ms_anne1021 I think I can answer of your questions. Granted, I do not know everything.
1. At the time eric recorded the video, the things his kfans did were not known (to ifans at least). Kmoos began collecting funds to press charges against a "group of mamamoo antis" in december 2019. In march 2020, a kmoo let imoos on twitter know that this group of antis were eric nam kfans. Also, eric is active on sns so directly receives and see all hate sent his way in places we cant see so it's hard to objectively judge things as a fan. So I rather trust what the artists say.
2. I am assuming solar is up to date on the situation because rbw announced on 29 august 2020 that they will be moving forward with pressing charges based on the evidence kmoos collected. In order to press charges, permission is needed from the victims (I.e. mamamoo). So it is likely that she had a good idea of what was going on when she said this on her livestream on 27 August.
3. RBW has only announced that they will be pressing charges against malicious commenters with evidence sent in by moos. No specific mention of eric nam fans were made. Eric's agency hasnt made any formal comments on the situation.
4. Yes apparently they are. Kmoos have said that they have collected evidence over 3-4 years of these commenters and they are still continuing until this day even though charges are being pressed. This group of his kfans are known as "ejums" and honestly they need help. They are obsessed with hating on mamamoo. They seem to be the oldest fans in his kfandom. I've gotten word from newer more active knams who said they weren't around during wgm and didnt know anything. Disclaimer: this is just what I was told the actual situation could be different.
A side note: lawsuits take a very long time. Currently, rbw and kmoos are still in the process of suing these malicious commenters. It takes at least 1 year to settle these kinds of things.
To protect solar, as a fan all you need to do is respect her and her decisions. People just need to not make a big deal of eric and mamamoo interactions. They are colleagues, overlap in schedules is bound to happen. Fans have made things uncomfortable for them and that is sad. We cant control the actions of obsessed anti fans but we can control our own. Dont spam her with comments about eric. But in the same manner, be supportive/respectful if they ever decide to collab/mention eachother.

Fans are just being stupid. I pity them. Lots of older active idols now end up still single old bachelors or had to hid their marriage out of fear. That will be the same fate of these idols who are so called loved by their obsessive fans. Old obsessive fans gets old, get married and left but new young obsessive fans take over. There is no life for these idols. The true slavery in idol world are caused the fans.

One thing is wrong about boy group/artist fangirls that they just start hating female idols/artists without knowing anything about them. All of them belong to the same industry, it's good for them to be friends. I'm happy with how Mamamoo's agency let them speak in public. and Solar is very lucky to have this Solasido channel because it can be a place where she speaks freely to the public. As we all know, almost all artist agencies in Korea severely restrict idols from speaking in public about the problems or scandals that are befalling them
Fans who really love their idol, they should not do this things. We are not part of idol personal life. We are part of their professional life. Idol do care about their fans, but that doesn't mean we have right to say bad thing about them.

I was hoping i'd see clips of them post wgm since i just recently watched it, but that was a rarity. It was just to see how they acted around each other. Now i see that those haters really affect them and both eric and solar really considers those haters' thoughts, mainly because they don't want their fandom attacking the other.
