      Lps Sapphire use a skin safe marker pen to make a fake tattoo on your skin, and put baby powder on the fake tattoo and brush off the excess powder with your hand. This will make the fake tattoo look more real. Have fun with this trick for Halloween! :)

    Black henna burns so you probably want to use this ink instead.. for all those saying it's just henna,, this ink is for those who want black/dark ink that isn't reminiscent of traditional henna application...

      mvanilla "black henna" is not henna. Henna is a specific skin safe plant but only gives you orange/red/brown colors.

    • @pocketfulofsunshine1692
      @pocketfulofsunshine1692 6 років тому +36

      Il Al Exactly! I have a henna plant in my front yard and have been using it since I was a child ( In Malayalam, we call it "Mylanchi"). You collect its leaves ( which are small) and grind them to make a paste and apply it on our body. Real henna is not that dark when it comes to pigmentation; it's more of a really dark orange. It's all the dye and chemicals that they add to give more depth to its pigmentation that makes it act like an irritant on some people. Real henna doesn't 'peel off' after a while either. It gradually fades away as our skin sheds bit by bit and replaces itself.

    • @Call-me-Al
      @Call-me-Al 6 років тому +15

      Pocketful of Sunshine Wow! That sounds lovely! I wish I could have a henna plant too. I imagine where I live is too cold for it, but I will look it up. I have only ever encountered pre-made henna powder. :)

    • @pocketfulofsunshine1692
      @pocketfulofsunshine1692 6 років тому +8

      Il Al I'm from India... We don't need to do much for the plant to thrive here. Awwww...I wish you had a henna plant in your yard as well. I remember all the excitement I had playing with it when I was a child and the frustration that followed when the stain didn't fade away fast enough from my palms when I wanted to try some new patterns and designs (it takes a few weeks for the stain to go away completely).

    the ink is used by indigenous people from Panama. Jagua is an aqueous ink, unlike henna, with a darker pigment.

    • @get_inkbox
      @get_inkbox 6 років тому +13

      Yep! 1 ingredient we use in the ink is derived from jagua that primarily grows in the jungles of the Darién Gap, Panama. This area is home to the Embera-Wounaan and Kuna indians, who still rely on their local forests for survival. They have been using the fruit to tattoo themselves for thousands of years. inkbox is proud to support The Darién Initiative, which ensures that we're sustainably harvesting their fruit and giving back to their community. Find out more here: getinkbox.com/pages/darien-initiative

    I’ve actually had this done before and it’s very cool because it mimics real tattoos. Though the hundreds of people saying it’s basically henna it actually isn’t. This bonds with the skin and only has to be left on for a couple hours where as henna stains the skin and for best results needs to be left on for several hours.

      Yo for the last for time; guys like you. It's jagua not henna. So you basically got the thing wrong

    • @Call-me-Al
      @Call-me-Al 6 років тому +17

      Heyit'smec you could culturally appropriate with this every bit as easily as with henna. The cultural aspects of henna are the traditional patterns, for instance common Indian wedding motifs, though the use of henna is not only an Indian thing as it has been used in Africa, the middle East, and Asia for thousands and thousands of years. You are saying the same as "I don't want to use cotton based fabric because I don't want to culturally appropriate". This is also a traditional ink, but it is from a part of South America instead of Africa and Asia.

      Aeri Tree im chinese & live in an asian country & probably 99% of the people living here have gotten henna before, I’ve never heard an Indian (or other races where henna is traditional) complain lmao. we share each other’s cultures here & if an Indian/Malay wants to wear a cheongsam or something or if a chinese wears a sari no one really cares, i don’t think having henna will do anything much less something that isn’t even henna

      Honestly, people are too much these days. Please don't let something like fear of society stop you from enjoying something that doesn't harm anybody. As an Indian, I think I can speak for the rest of my fellow Indians when I say that it doesn't offend us at all when we see people from other cultural and social backgrounds try things from our culture. In fact, it makes me happy when I see that others are interested in our culture and its practices. Similarly, I don't think any other cultures that have henna as a great aspect of their culture wouldn't mind it if you try it out, as long as you are not trying to appropriate or insinuate anything ill about our cultures. :) As long as it's all about fun and curiosity and genuine interest, it is all good! :))

    It’s similar to mendi, which is Indian, the original “henna” but for that, it is hard to harvest very concentrated darker colors, so that’s why it’s not the same

    I’ve try going under the needle, don’t think I will ever again, I still don’t have any real tattoos because my experience was bad , the numb cream made me feel more and it was too painful and I had to stop on the first few seconds because it was too painful for me.
    Edit: the tattoo I wanted was on the feet which apparently is one of the most sensitive parts, I choose there because I was still in college so I didn’t want to always cover tattoos. Maybe I would choose a small one next time in a level 1 sensible place.
