I recently saw part of this interrogation on another channel, but it was a smaller portion of it. Thank you for sharing the full interrogation. As someone who battles and suffers with bipolar and other mental health issues, it breaks my heart to watch Beatrice in this state. Mental illness does ruin your life. I had a career that I was great at and I loved it, but lost it all. I appreciate how well the detective handled the interrogation with Beatrice. He was very calm, patient, and understanding. Some interrogators are rude and mock the person because they think they are faking mental illness. It is very apparent that Beatrice does in fact suffer with bipolar and schizophrenia. I pray she gets the mental health care that she needs.

First, I hope you’re doing well and thank you for being so vulnerable. It’s not easy to do (especially online to millions of strangers) but it needs to be normalized. Mental illness shouldn’t be something we shame people about. We should be praising those who open up and ask for help. So thank you again for sharing your story. And second, I agree with everything you said about this detective. His patience, compassion and charisma were on full display in that interrogation and I think his effort ultimately played a huge role in helping determine her sentence. While in such a state he was still able to make her feel comfortable and I’m turn open up. Along with everything you said, I also noticed he was stern as needed but more in a fatherly tone not a law enforcement tone. The interrogation part where she kept getting up and calling out to the detectives is where I noticed it the most. He was patient multiple times but she wouldn’t stop. When I’m having a panic attack I too need to just feel another persons presence. Sometimes that can just be me calling out to my teenage son while he’s in his room just to say hi, see if he’s awake, make small talk. I don’t tell him I’m on the brink of a panic attack and it’s usually not more then just a couple words, I’ll ask “hey, you awake? You need anything from downstairs, I’m going down.” It’s usually a quick “yeah, I’m up. Playing online right now, not hungry yet. Love you” and that’s it. Was I planning on going down? No. If he said he did need something I would but that’s never happened yet. Sometimes I just need the reassurance he’s awake so I won’t delete alone. My anxiety regarding death is bad. I’ve lost both parents, my only sister almost twice, soul mate, it’s a very long list and after decades of holding in my emotions they creep back in during panic attacks. The reassurance if something really did start to go wrong I can just yell and have someone to help me plays a huge role in the severity of the attack or me being able to stop it before it really comes on. So anyways, that’s the view and personal experience I was thinking of watching her interrogation. So I appreciated the narrator pointing out it was probably an anxiety thing and her just wanting to have someone nearby. I didn’t remember his exact words but the way he said it made absolute sense to me. But then the detective seemed to also know what was going on with her and how to tackle that problem. He definitely went above to make her comfortable. But as soon as she showed any sign of taking advantage of his compassion he would sternly stop it in its tracks. Her behavior seemed very child like to me, which made sense to me as a lot of mental health diseases can cause regression. Obviously hers wasn’t severe at all and not that noticeable but her mannerisms and the way she said some things seemed childlike to me. Treating her like a stern father instead of law enforcement I think helped her open up. If they were aggressive with her I think she would’ve shut down and they wouldn’t make any progress or she would meet their aggression with aggression and make the situation a million times worse. It was clear this was a mental health issue from the start. I hope she’s getting the help she needs.
Sorry for the novel. Didn’t mean to write that much.

She seems like a really likeable person. You just never know what secrets some people keep hidden. I feel sorry for the victims. But I also feel sorry for Beatrice too. All because she couldn't afford to keep paying for her meds. So the only way you can get government aid in the USA for medication is to potentially go to jail. ONLY IN AMERICA. What a Country!!

This is heartbreaking! I can't imagine living life this way. I found myself getting beyond annoyed with her and wanting to tell her to shut up, thinking that she was a spoiled brat. But tgen i remembered her mental illness and the detective's compassion allowed me to see her as she was, someone suffering for reasons beyond her control. The way he turned the conversation to a point of connection was beautiful. I hope she finds the help and support that she needs. This is a battle that she will fight until her last breath.
I know it is someone at their rock bottom, but i hope that we can all learn compassion for others after watching this.

I feel so much for her... she is scared for the voices, she realize that she has it, she doesn't want to do those evil things. First place, offcourse, i feel bad for her victoms but Beatrice deserves good help, she can't do this alone anymore.

The sad thing about this is that the disease she suffers from is seldom violent. This poor woman has been captured by her own madness. She knows she's insane. She's absolutely brilliant, but deeply ill. Her violent acts show she should have been committed a long time ago. I feel so bad for the people she struck with her car. What a horrible thing to experience. The boyfriend seems to have emotional problems of his own.

I've seen this interrogation before BUT, not with the fiance and Sister interviews included, which made it so much better. I also appreciated you fast forwarded the silences, and closed with the outcome 👌🏼
My only negative is someone else does titles like this, and I find them annoying. I'd prefer something more descriptive like 'Lawyer hears voices telling her to kill people' for example. Other than that, you will do well, and wish you the best 🙌🏼

I wonder if the lawyer in her was asking for the attempted murder charges. Aggravated battery is earlier to prove for the prosecutor's office and can carry more years in prison.

I can’t help but think that she’s having hallucinations of something demonic in that room with her and that’s why she wants others in there with her. When she has those long pauses it’s probably talking and telling her not to answer him. I also think that her time in Catholic School is related to the voices being “demonic”. It’s also no coincidence her “fiancée” is so into the church and calling her quoting the Bible likely triggered the episode.

She has been to more places than I can count, she has a family that cares about her...she has more than a lot of other ppl have in their life, and they don't try and kill others, you can get help to pay for medication..either go on government insurance or there are organizations that will pay for your meds! I know a lot of ppl that get free meds through city organizations...if she could go to all those places I can't see how she couldn't afford meds.

I’m confused… First he says her doc told her she can’t be on the medication if she’s trying to get pregnant (the implication being that this may have played a role in her decision to go off her meds), but then says they’ve spent $500 on plan b, which is a clear indication that they were actively trying _not_ to get pregnant.

The woman who vindictively changed her aggravated assault charges to attempted murder because she was annoyed by the behaviour of someone in the midst of a terrifying schizophrenic episode is a callous monster. How do you expect someone who is hearing demonic voices to behave? She tried to punish her like a child for being paranoid and claustrophobic in that room and trying to get out. She had no empathy for her whatsoever. Its always cold in there but they have no blankets for this common situation. Poorly organized and prepared. They respond to her genuine suicidal thoughts with uncaring uninterested responses. They sent her to jail instead of psych to punish her for disrupting them in the middle of a severe mental health breakdown. They left her alone in a room in that state and had no compassionate staff on hand to stay with her and make sure she was okay. The consideration for her mental condition is nearly non-existent. Punishing her for her behaviour in this state is like hitting a person with down syndrome for not behaving like everyone else. It's callous abuse and insanely ignorant. Stop funding military style weapons and vehicles for police and spend money on compassionate care for people with mental health issues, which represent a huge percentage of the people they deal with.
