I love watching college gymnasts. Most of the college gymnasts I have watched look healthier, happier, and you can really see their personality and individuality in their routines. But I also recognize that some gymnasts really enjoy and thrive competing at elite level.
Seriously - I hate to hate on Nastia but all the NBC commentators do is rag on the gymnasts. It's amazing to see what other countries do when commentating. Tim Daggett - boy bye
Casey Graziano the dude who called her a snowflake for saying that it’s preferable to not be called ‘girl’, his insult is extremely unoriginal and he needs to at least choose another one if he wants his point to be taken at all seriously
maybe its because elite gymnastics is what really counts, winning or losing actually matter, there you feel the real pressure, ncaa is not a competition, it's a show, therefore you just have fun because you don't compete, losing doesn't really matter... not all ncaa athletes can be elite, but all elites can be ncaa, of course elite athletes look happier when they do ncaa, there they have no pressure because the overall skill level of the league is much lower compared to the olympics for example, so them coming from the elite world where they actually have skilled competitors, here they instantly find themselves at the top of the class... also ncaa routines are easier
She stuck all of those landings! Is this the floor routine she got a 10.0 on? Yesterday I was watching her do a floor routine and she got a 10.0 ... I can't recall if it was the same routine or not.

I was thinking they all got either 10's or really high scores because at one meet the commentators were saying how she had to get a (some #) or above to win the meet. They were saying how (she) deserved that 10, and that it was the first 10 she's gotten (or something along those lines). I can't find the video I watched that I heard this on.
The NCAA judging system requires less difficulty because you get a 10 start value without extreme elements, so they don't risk too much:) College gymnasts also train less then half the hours of an elite
They are allowed to bring their personality and individuality to their routines. Like Kaitlyn said in one interview, completing at the NCAA level helped her find her love and enjoyment for the sport again.

I don't know, you just gotta realize it's not at the same level of competition. I think it's still fun to watch once you get used to the skill/competition level being different. I thought it was weird too when I first watched ncaa gymnastics
Kaye Dubb Lol it's called being part of a team. And if you suggest they look miserable, unfed and exhausted like they do at the elite level then we have different opinions on what sports should be. I played basketball through college and we didn't cheer the same way, but I would never call support for others as cringey.
