many thanks for a really nice tune i play electric guitar and found it verey pleasent to play along to as im learning to play lead guitar , just great for my taste. I just want the same vidio for criss reas fool if you think its over appreciate any help. great tunes many happy times playing along Tony
Exactly! In fact, E major is : E-G#-B. G# is both in A harmonic and melodic minor, but does not figure in A natural minor. You can also use harmonic minor for the Bdim chord, if you consider it as a diminished seventh chord (B-D-F-Ab). As you can see, Ab sounds the same as G#. For the rest of the progression, it's better to use the natural minor scale.
Brilliant track -- allows everything from hard shredding to lush melodic playing. Really enjoyed it. Obviously the ending just kills it. Do you have another version that fades?
The "1" chord is actually Amin7. The progression is i7-VImaj7-iv7-ii7b5-V7#9. 1-6-4-2-5 in A minor. Listen to how the Bm7b5-E7 (written as Bdim-E on the screen) resolves to the Amin7. That's the minor 2-5-1 resolution. Common in jazz, neo soul, etc...
This is perfect. Since it's a pretty basic jazz progression the Bm7b5 Stays right in line with a basic IIm-V-I scenario. I'd call it a Bdim if I heard the VIIth more often, which I don't.
+Denis Čuček your is the right progression. But don't forget that E7b9 is a substitute of Fdim7 that's a Bdim7. So. it's nice to play the notes of Bm7b5 with a chromatic approach to Bdim (Ab) to emphasize the progression.
caught me out on the abrupt ending big time, i was like, "oh yeah i gotta few seconds left, time for an epic bend". then the song just end half way through it and i look like an idiot
It's like in the progression of 'Nothing Else Matter'!! that song is in E minor natural but at the end of the progression they use the chord 'B dominant 7th'. The third note of 'B dominant 7th' is related on the E harmonic/melodic minor scale. It works at the same way of this backing track.
Look in any jazz chord progression book and you will see both major and minor 2-5-1 chord progressions, arpeggios, ect. So I don't know what you are questioning. The above chord progression is in the key of A minor (which is the same as C major) But we are not talking modes. Am is the Root, key, tonic of the chord progression, Bmb5 is the 2 and the E is the 5th, just like edthewave tried to point out to you. There is such a thing as the minor 2-5-1. Weather you want to believe it or not.
What? F minor is the VI chord of A minor. F major contains F, A and C notes. They are all part of the A minor scale: A, B, C, D, E, F, G, A. And if you are thinking why E major is part of A minor, the answer is, it's part of A harmonic minor (A, B, C, D, E, F, G#, A) that you could play over this progression.
can someone tell me what the 1 cord is? it's not the Amin. I love this jam but what is the major 1 and 4 and 5, someone clear this up it's bugging me, love the song.
So the Hramonic(or)Melodic minor scale fits only on the E major chords? On rest of the chords we have to use A minor natural scale? It's right? (sorry for my english)
Thanks for the reply eththewave but I don't think it's right. The one has to be a major cord. always the 1 is a major cord, even if it's not used in the progression.
That's not a B diminished. It's a B half diminished (B D F A). It is also called Bm7b5. The E is an E dominant (E7), but I also hear an augmented 5th (C). So it is actually E7+5. (E G# C D). E7b9 (E G# B D F) would be O.K., too.
I'm not sure if I understand this. This progression seems to be in Am but there is an Emajor chord. It doesn't look like this cord belongs in the key of Am but it somehow works. Can someone explain this to me?
it did make me laugh reading reading the comment about the warm ending and then while i was in my groove thinking my hifi died. nothing to bitch about here good track, fair comments
i wish all tracks had endings like this one... amazing
I'm a metal bassist and stumbled on this-even thou I don't get this YET!_ IT still f---in' fun to play-Thank You-Cheers!!
Ain't gonna shit you, that cut at the end kills it.
+Wade Davis totally

wow. what an ending, EPIC fade out!!
just great, really great, just made my best tune with it, just don't know what should i call it. so beautiful.

thank you for the warm ending
You are so funny RNC4690! Right on man! Peace
Hi; I work on it quasi 2 hours a day....I love it! could you give us the entire version? ! Great!!
душевненько.. класс
playing a harmonic minor solo over this sounds like heaven
Emajor works because the 7th scale degree in minor keys is usually raised when used in harmony. It gives the chords more of a pull to resolved.
1 hour jam over it. Love it !!!
Luv this track but it is a buzz kill that it stops so short, any chance you can do an extended version with a fade out ?
+skategangster Cant you just made your own version in a DAW Voila :-) But a great track and improvising alot over this :-)
very nice! thanks for the upload :)))
I love this track except for the abrupt ending!
Nice and smooth
Thank you Thank you
thanx ..i like the the track!!!cool
Lovin it man! I could play on top of this for hours!!
Brilliant track -- allows everything from hard shredding to lush melodic playing. Really enjoyed it. Obviously the ending just kills it. Do you have another version that fades?

Joe Ma... You absolutely RIGHT. Thumbs up to your comments.
great ballad for me!
Correct chord progression is: Am Fmaj7 Dm(add9) Dm Bm7b5 E7#9 E7b9
:)
That's actually right!
This is perfect. Since it's a pretty basic jazz progression the Bm7b5 Stays right in line with a basic IIm-V-I scenario. I'd call it a Bdim if I heard the VIIth more often, which I don't.

love this progression to solo against.....thanks
that cut off at the end just kills it, and it should be twice as long. other then that it's sick
Beautiful!
This guy is totally loving the comments about the ending!!!!! Everybody wants a Happy ending!!!! HAHAHA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
caught me out on the abrupt ending big time, i was like, "oh yeah i gotta few seconds left, time for an epic bend". then the song just end half way through it and i look like an idiot
Sade like - great to jam to
Love this track. I'm new to these play alongs and computer. Is there a way to down load your track to my ipod. Ken
thanks for clearing that up
I think I hear an Fmaj7, a B half-dim and an E7b10/b9....Nice though! Think I'll give it a go, cheers.
The song is from MSG and its called Nightmare, but here its played by Am although its from Cm.
gracias por el aporte ..exelente base :D
Thank, very nice!! I'm using E7b9 =) just a bit difference or sometimes i go E7#9 - E7b9 - Am . It's all about taste ;)
very nice track

Dude, you can't just stop like that.
very good...very short....
nice... i love it

man love how the B diminished sounds...
Do it over and give us smooth ending man
Reminds me of Out of the dark by Falco..
Nevertheless nice backingtrack :)
can someone tell me what the 1 cord is? it's not the Amin. I love this jam but what is the major 1 and 4 and 5, someone clear this up it's bugging me, love the song.
awesome !!!!
nice ending!!
Great soulful .....feel ; (
Combination of A aeolian and harmonic minor works nicely I think
Damn, such a good ending dude
Cool man cooooool
i knew there was something familiar about it :)
If you published the correct chord voicings and a written bass line, I'd buy it!
So the Hramonic(or)Melodic minor scale fits only on the E major chords?
On rest of the chords we have to use A minor natural scale?
It's right?
(sorry for my english)
I like the soft mood! Excuse me, I hear B half diminished!?
i'm interested :P
sweet!
Thanks for the reply eththewave but I don't think it's right. The one has to be a major cord. always the 1 is a major cord, even if it's not used in the progression.

Cool!!!
It might be obvious, but is this backing track based on a famous (or not) song?
It totally reminds me of something, but I cant say what.
just start sharp and end sharp, do you have the original one? or somewhere i can go to download? please
That's not a B diminished. It's a B half diminished (B D F A). It is also called Bm7b5. The E is an E dominant (E7), but I also hear an augmented 5th (C). So it is actually E7+5. (E G# C D). E7b9 (E G# B D F) would be O.K., too.
ever heard of a "fade out"??
ey, you can do Harmonic minor over this as well
AWESOME
on se croirais sur du bon vieux SANTANA ! cool *
good trackk
you can use the "Fade Out" function ... Is the same from the beginning ... !
I'm not sure if I understand this. This progression seems to be in Am but there is an Emajor chord. It doesn't look like this cord belongs in the key of Am but it somehow works. Can someone explain this to me?
i/IV/vi/ii/V/i, very nice.
it did make me laugh reading reading the comment about the warm ending and then while i was in my groove thinking my hifi died. nothing to bitch about here good track, fair comments
