Right we did tents use the out house and now to own our own with a bath and a half why would I not use it I paid for it and its more private than the bath
We definitely poop in our RV. We turn the vent fan on so there is never any smells in the RV. We also don’t put paper down the toilet. We keep a small waste basket with a cover right beside the toilet for paper and wet wipes. Never any issues with odors and our black tank flushes out cleanly. Mant people still don’t know how to use their black tanks properly. It should remain closed until it needs to be emptied EVEN when connected to a sewer connection. RV do not work like your toilet at home! Funny video 😂.
THANK YOU!!! I have not laughed this hard in a long time!!! 😂🤣The dog comments, both of your faces during the story… ROTFLMAO! You are both wonderful. And YES, we definitely use our bathroom for number1 And number 2. No issues with that at all. We do not get smells from the tank so we are good. 👍
Yes, every day of camping. I've been using RV Digest-it for a long while, never had any issues with my black tank or sensors. At one of our favorite campsites I have to use a macerator and 100 foot of true 3/4 inch hose to empty, we generally use the spot for weeks, and a good tank treatment is worth 10x it's weight in gold.
I have a renewed respect for Matt. Oh my good grief! Not only is he honest in telling us his experience of siphoning a backed up toilet in the RV he rented, but he is before a very tall and strong looking gentleman who cracked up into pieces as Matt told his story. 😁😁😁😁😁 ❤❤❤❤❤ It is like seeing Shaq and Chuck roasting one another during the NBA highlights. 💯❤❤❤💯❤❤❤💯❤❤❤ A great subject. 👍
Blue aqua Treatment For RV Black tanks... Great stuff.... Plus I do maintenance on the black tank Probably more than I should.... I run cleaner through the black tank and lots of water.... I have the cleanest black tank in the history of black tanks...
You need to explain more on the pee /poo balance. You start with 2.5 to 3 gallons of water & Deodorizer in the black tank. You flush and more water is added sooo your pee to water ratio , water is greater. Poo is minimal . So can you expand more on the subject. Thanks
I upgraded to porcelain to make it a true throne. It's part of the pleasure of moving from home rom a popup. The best advice I got was to start with 2 gallons of water in the black tank. Simple
You can start a siphon without sucking on it. If you had filled the freshwater hose 100%. Kept it somewhat level and put the end in the toilet. Plug or kink the other end and take it lower than the toilet and let it go, it will be instant siphon, same as if you used the suction to get the water into the hose and flowing. I do this all the time with nasty chemicals. Fill the hose with water and then the siphon is already primed.
I absolutely lost it when you clipped in the viral dog 🤣🤣 we have pooped in our camper from day 1! But I would never poop if we didn't have a black tank flush!
Yes I do! With the fan that goes directly outside takes the smell out, no problem. I would like to put a cover over the fan but I've always wondered if that would slow down the removal of the unpleasant air. I had a sticks & bricks house where the bathroom was in the kitchen entrance and you could only use it for number one. The fan blew the air up a two story house through the roof. You had to be very careful in that bathroom, only number one.
Alright some of the funniest stuff there. Matt you are awesome that you would do that for your family! And the look on Todd's face waiting for the moment to hear Matt get blasted by the blue beast is priceless.
I use camper bathroom like my house but i use a chemical in black tank an follow directions an after emptying black tank i flush it out 5 gal clean water
Because they are different chemical make up in your pee and poop. The chemical or natural treatments used to keep your black on top shape count on a mix of both chemicals
You need to have some one qualified and trained show you how the exhaust fan in the roof of your bathroom works. Let me be perfectly clear. I did not buy a Newmar Mountain Aire so I could get up in the middle of the night and go to the bath house/restrooms.
I was laughing with Matt with the poop story. Oh my goodness Matt! I mystic when I camped with my sister and her family we used the bath rooms at the campgrounds both with the travel trailer and the pop up. Trailer had a bath room but never used it. Too small and the pop up didn’t have one. So we were safe with the tanks.
My wife and I are a full time RV couple. YES we poop in the toilet, a quick spray of Lysol spray afterward works miracles. But I am a fanatic at cleaning the tank and getting the sensors clean. Usually no problems except the granddaughter visited for a few days and started using sanitary wipes. That presented some problems dumping but I was able to get things handled.
If you pee you have to also poop in your rv toilet is not true. The amount of water (which is greater) to pee ratio is more then enough to neutralize the pee. Would like to know why you think you must have both in your black tank.
Matt! I laughed my butt off! Couldn't you have just went to a dump station and emptied it? If I'm in a camp ground ill use the campground facilities mostly... you two are good together!
Only in a time of intestinal distress. Otherwise, the RV toilet is for #1 only. Of course, my family doesn't follow the same rule. Also, and the most important reason: I'm the one that has to deal with draining the tanks.
I must have missed something; why couldn’t you just dump the black tank? I installed a bidet. Best thing ever. It works great and doesn’t fill up the tank any faster then the normal flushes.
Oh my lanta!! I have siphoned water out of our yucky pool in the past, but hearing Matt tell the story of the black tank experience had me laughing out loud! I want to know how he was able to completely siphon it out thru a water hose. That would not happen around here! Lol Also, a suggestion- this is a good reason to keep a small DC motor handy to do the hard work!
We pee and poop in our toilet and we also shower in the shower. Why have all that if you are not going to use it. Our toilet is a prime pooping position, that's one of the reasons why we bought the Entegra Vision 29s because you reviewed it about 2 yrs ago and gave it a PPP.
Too funny. Had to call the wife in to watch as I watched a 2nd time. Todd, been following you since Two Beards and a Babe. Keep putting out the great info.
That was way too funny! I had a great Laugh.....I don't like to use someone else toilet so yes to our RV toilet! without a doubt! Dump the black tank, and make sure I keep water in, it is big part of my planned logistics
No need to suck-start a siphon hose boys and girls! Merely fill the hose with water, and hold your thumb over the outlet end, have partner put the toilet end into toilet and then remove thumb. The weight of the water in hose will start the siphon!
Matt!! 🤢 you gotta do what you gotta do. I use my bathroom in my Class C, it's one of the perks of driving a motorhome. Plus, some bathhouse/gas station restrooms are disgusting!
Todd: "Yeah, I wash all the time"... Folks, How do you think he keeps that beard combed out?... yep, Now you know how he dries his hands.. Great video guys. good duo... Matt's got a sick laugh... hilarious .. Press on!
I had NO idea about the poop being needed in the black tank. All summer I only used it for pee and used the nearby flush toilet for the rest. I didn't even throw the paper in the black tank. I'll do better next summer. 😆
You should check your user manual to make sure you are hitching properly. Also you should perform a tug test just before you leave to make sure the hitch is fully locked around the king pin.
Actually we do not. We have had our first travel trailer for close to 3 years now and are afraid to because we aren’t sure how to do it properly. When we bought it new the salesman didn’t give us instructions on this. Could someone please elaborate on how to treat the water, etc because this would be very helpful? Thanks
It's not the bio waste that clogs an RV toilet, it's all the paper. If you're going to urinate and defecate in the RV toilet, do yourself a favour and get a bidet. We have a portable squeeze bottle bidet for our travel trailer. Very little paper needs to go down the black tank. So much cleaner on your bottom, healthier, easier.
Absolutely poop in my RV... defeats a big part of the RV's purpose if I didn't. Do I use other options when available in order to prolong RV toilet use between dumps? Absolutely as well. I ain't askaaard uh no poop.
Space in an RV is a premium if you're not using your bathroom to poop and pee in then why have it in there? I bought my 09 jayco new I have never stayed in a full-service campground I boondock 99.99% of the time and I haven't had a problem to date

I totally don't understand why Matt didn't just dump the black tank and then flush the water that was in the toilet? He was already in a campground, worst case if there's not full hookups at the site you drive carefully to the dump station.
If I can’t poop in the camper, I’m not camping. My days of the tent are behind me.

Funny, but must be missing something... if there is a toilet, I'm poopin' in it...
O. M. G.! Just O. M. G..

Yep...when I get to the campground I also set up my pup tent because I also have a no sleeping in the rv rule....Are you kidding me!!!🤯
I’m dying….. that was so funny 😂
Constipated black tank. Matt’s visual story had me chuckling. Thank you for sharing and have a great day.
I didn’t know this was a thing. Of course we use our bathroom to its fullest extent. Public toilets 🤮
couldn't agree more.
Great Info … Thanks for all this Info #MattsRV is the best guest ever
Everyday . Every time. Would much rather use our bathroom than one that everyone else uses. And I'm sure ours is much cleaner.
Yes I do! With the fan that goes directly outside takes the smell out, no problem. Great video. I understand the key to your black tank is water. Very funny.
Thanks. Matt is a funny guy and has some hilarious stories.
That’s was the funniest UA-cam video I’ve seen. Couldn’t stop laughing.
I know right. One of the best Campfire Stories ever!!

Why yes....yes I do... 💩 happens 🤷♂️
Myself and I’m sure many other absolutely do not understand the pooping and peeing thing. Explain why if you pee you must poop.
Because they are different chemical make up in your pee and poop. The chemical or natural treatments used to keep your black on top shape count on a mix of both chemicals
@@majorsnuffy736 does it matter since pee is liquid and doesn’t need to be broken down?

Such a funny story with the clogged black tank at Disney 😂

Usually no problems except the granddaughter visited for a few days and started using sanitary wipes. That presented some problems dumping but I was able to get things handled.
Of course. If you are not going to use the toilet or shower why by an RV, get a tent.
My plastic throne is the best seat in my house. Big window looking out.
You know you can prefill the hose with water! Obviously plug or kink the hose to keep water in hose until it is in position
I am still laughing - wow - so we use the toilet in our 22 foot travel trailer and we use it for number 1 and 2 - so far so good no issues
That's awesome. Glad that you haven't ran into any issues.
If you pee you have to also poop in your rv toilet is not true. The amount of water (which is greater) to pee ratio is more then enough to neutralize the pee. Would like to know why you think you must have both in your black tank.
That’s assuming someone is adding water. If you do you’re all set. We’re not saying you’re going to have damage, It’s more of a PH thing.
Matt! I laughed my butt off! Couldn't you have just went to a dump station and emptied it? If I'm in a camp ground ill use the campground facilities mostly... you two are good together!
My thoughts exactly.
he said the water was up to the top of the toilet bowl if he moved it would of spilled over.
@@Barret_Radtke but why not bail some of it?
@@lauravictorious4670 watch the video again he said he tried that but the level never went down.

As I understand, the black tank is a holding tank, not a septic tank
it's part of the whole reason WHY I have an rv and not stay in hotel/motels......
Why yes all the time 👍
that was an incredible story! Funny! i will take my chances by only peeing in our camper!!! Poop goes elsewhere!! LOL
I must have missed something; why couldn’t you just dump the black tank?
I installed a bidet. Best thing ever. It works great and doesn’t fill up the tank any faster then the normal flushes.

We poop in campground toilets.:) always have 5 gallons minimum in your tank and use an enzyme to break down the solids…

Yes we do
what do u mean by balance? is there a biome we are looking to maintain? just confused as to what the balance refers to sorry.
@Matts RV Reviews stand up!
Can you explain to me what you mean by “out of balance”? ‘Pee’ vs ‘poo’. The balance of what??
Thanks for sharing, the horror is fun to hear.
Glad you enjoyed it
Matt, I would’ve just went in debt and bought the motorhome.
That's one way to do it!!
So what happens when you just pee? What does it do?
The jaws on my 5th wheel hitch don’t completely close is this a problem?
Yes. Especially, if they open up right in the middle of you pooping.
You should check your user manual to make sure you are hitching properly. Also you should perform a tug test just before you leave to make sure the hitch is fully locked around the king pin.
that would be unfortunate

Somewhat true. If you allow the waste to dry out and dehydrate the bacteria then most definitely the waste becomes a solid issue in the tank.
