    Get in, 400 sub yay. I own mostly Exposure gear - 3010S2 Amp /CD Player/Dac/ XM3 Phono stage. I am streaming through Cambridge Audio. And the analogue side is AT33PTG/II Rega RP6 with nothing left to mod on it. But the star of my set up is the Exposure 3010S2 Amp it doesn't have to be driven hard for it to sing and it's very natural sounding, case in point if i am streaming something that has people talking and someone enters my listening space when they are leaving the room they will sometimes turn around and say what did you say, now that is natural sounding. looking forward to your future Exposure videos cheers pal.

      @@phonostageaudio4819 Oh yeah it's great, when i listen to old stuff i loved in the past i am forever thinking wow there's other people singing that part
      where's i thought it was always One voice. Or listening to Zappa i can
      differentiate between the drummers and continue to follow One drum kit without the sound being swallowed within the mix. I guess that's the difference between hifi and good music reproduction.

    The DVD shop analogy...so true! I find that happens when people ask me
    what music I'm into. Love exposure gear, had the 3510's Granddaddy a Super XX

    Hej Tony, always nice to see your insightful reviews! What do you think, which brand of floorstanding speakers should be the best match for this amp? Spendor A4/A7? Graham LS6/f? Acoustics Energy AE509? Thanks again, keep a good work!

    • @phonostageaudio4819
      @phonostageaudio4819  2 роки тому +1

      HI- I think the LS6/f but you should listen really.. There are folk who prefer the Spendor.. I am a fan of Spendor of old and not so much the later ones, though I have not heard them all and have not heard them back to back. One thing to consider is that the AE509 is a lot cheaper and gets great reviews, so if budget is a factor that has to be worth an audition!. But for me - the marriage made in heaven is the LS6/f

    Does it have a tape monitor function for the tape loop? so a processor can be plugged into the tape loop enabling you to listen to the output of the processor for whatever input you select. I’m thinking particularly of some form of tone/loudness control for late night low volume listening when I might want to tweak the top and bottom to allow for the fletcher Munson effect.

I was half seriously considering adding a Nu Vista 600 to my shortlist for tteat splurge of a lifetime "upgrade" from my Townshend Allegri/Classe CA-101 current amplification

    Hi Tony great review love your anyilitics not sure if that’s a word !! I’m in the process off deciding if I should by the dac that can be installed to the 3010 and 3510 ? When you auditioned the 3510 was the dac already installed to the unit and if so do you recommend me on getting the dac? Cheers !

    • @phonostageaudio4819
      @phonostageaudio4819  2 роки тому

      Hi - The DAC wasn't installed. I have heard the DACS that Exposure manufacture, and they are very good, the DAC in the XMCD for instance is very good indeed in comparison. The market has some amazing DACS out there for the money and I wouldn't like to talk you in or out of it - Just be mindful, it is a competitive market and there are lots to choose from - they are all excellent after a certain price point, so it becomes reasonable to go off features and convenience (internal vs. external) as well as sound.

    Hello from Canada! Thanks for the impressions. I've got the 3010 pre/mono stack running totem's. I find them a bit underwhelming in the mid bass region however that could be a room mode or maybe my skytowers are hard to drive? Still they are monoblocks lol, maybe I should double up to 4 monos. I am wondering if you know if Exposure will be updating their 5010 series as well? I just got these this past year and had I known about the 3510's I would've waited haha. Sincere thanks!

      Indeed I do. I know a chap who has had both, and he is something of an expert - he has had a 3010S2-D for a long time and then got his hands on one of the first 3510s. I won't use his exact words (it pis.....es on it!) - his general view is that it is considerably better! I have a couple of XM9 mono blocks here. I will add them to the 2510 and then do some comparisons for fun!

    Nice one, currently have the Exposure XM5, bought because of space limitations, I now have. Hifi rack and can accommodate full width units. What I am I likely to gain over the XM5 with the the 3510? Speakers are Kef R5 and Ideally I looking for a slightly brighter sound than the XM5. I've had a few Exposure amps over the years the super eight, the super 18 integrated and the 18 monoblocks. Undecided between Exposure and the big Yamaha and Denon.
    To much choice these days.

    • @phonostageaudio4819
      @phonostageaudio4819  2 роки тому

      Hi Ron… the XM5 is really good but the 3510 is in a different league. I have a 3510, a 2510 and an XM5 on demo and in terms of dynamics, power and stereo spread they are (top to bottom) the 3510, the 2510 and the XM5. That is not to decry any of them but they all have their place. If you are nearby (the demo rooms are in Lancashire), you can try before you buy….

    Hello Tony, thank you very much for making such a nice review. I have a pair of Fyne Audio F501 floorstanders with 90dB sensitivity and 8 ohm nominal impedance. Do you think the 3510 will be overkill, or I should go for the 2510? No scope for auditioning. Does it worth spending the extra money on the 3510 for such mid priced speakers?

    • @phonostageaudio4819
      @phonostageaudio4819  2 роки тому

      Hi…. Those are nice speakers! The 3510 wouldn’t be overkill at all… it sounds amazing with LS6s which are not big or particularly powerful. The 2510 does too but there is a qualitative difference commensurate with the price… so it just becomes about preference and budget. The 2510 will sound great… the 3510 more great!!!!

    hi about lepy lp 2020a i plugged in correctly turning the volume up i heard a buzzing sound in speakers and the volume kept going off then on when i increased the volume from the amp now one of my speakers has stopped working what caused this before i used the amp i could turn the volume up on the speaker all the way and it was clear sound also could it have been the underpowered power supply that it came with some people recommend a 6amp power supply. i also used presonus eris e4.5 studio monitors 75w with the amp also is using a amplifier with studio monitors dangerous because the studio monitor has a built in amplifier. and the amp is 20w and the speakers are 75w could it be because the speakers are more powerful.

    • @phonostageaudio4819
      @phonostageaudio4819  2 роки тому

      Hi . Powered studio monitors are not supposed to be connected to an amplifier using its speaker outputs. They need to be connected with a line or balanced output only. Most domestic amps have no way of doing this. The Studio monitor inputs are designed to take a line-type output from a mixing desk or a computer. If you did connect your speaker outputs from the amplifier to the active monitors then you would probably fry them… If I have misunderstood then I apologise. Your comment is difficult to read.
