It irritates me how some people say "Meghan's trying to make fat girls feel better by making fun of skinny girls" and how she doesn't promote loving your body just because of that one line in All All About That Bass {which btw she addressed in an interview en.wikipedia.org/wiki/All_About_That_Bass} but what about her other songs... like this one? This one is encouraging people to embrace their flaws and that everyone is beautiful-inside and out.

Onaiza you are so right and its not just Nicki who has done it. There have been quite a few artists who have done it. Heck if you listen to the radio sit back and just listen to the words not the beat because garauntee people may be shocked by how many of the songs they love put down someone whether skinny, overweight, women, men doesn't matter. But people have decided to take one peice of one artist song and turn into a message about making fun of skinny girls which if they had listened completely to the song in the first place was not at all the case but about all body types and about how each of them percieve themselves in the mirror.
She shouldn't have said shit about skinny people in her song if she didn't want people to get offended by it.
Part of growing up is being able to think rationally. Sounds like you're the one who needs to grow up.

I could not describe the feeling of acceptance I felt when I listened to this song when it first came out. I don't care about what people say about this song, this album or Meghan. All I know is that when I was battling Triple Negative Breast Cancer, this song was my blessing. As my hair started falling out, I took one last shower to simply feel my hair again. Meanwhile, my husband prepared our patio with a stool, a shaver and this song on repeat. When I was ready, he quietly wept as he shaved my head. This song was my anthem as I faced disfigurement, hair loss and weight gain.
Like I'm Gonna Lose You was our song as well.
This album was a powerful tool in getting us through that year of treatment.
How we would dance - even my grandkids - to All About That Bass!
Many times we would listen to Title on the hour long drive to my treatments.
So, this album, the songs and Meghan's talent are a sweet reminder to me of so many important lessons and memories. They were a voice to remind me to keep fighting.

Your songs have help a very important person in my life get though really hard times. My bff(age 13) has cancer many of your songs helped fell like she has meaning again. Like the other day she had sugery but the doctor told her to her face she might die on the operation table. Her request was if she was going to die the last thing she want to hear was you song. Close your eyes. ;) she is alive and well but still has cancer. She loves you and one day wants to meet you and thank you for all you have done in her life.

There's something about her voice that I really like, some of her music is a like a break from the mediocre repetitive pop that's out now. Meghan Trainor is a true musician. She is creative, talented and is actually writing her own music. Her style, although following some old "Doo-Wap" music of the 1960's, is fresh and new. What is really important here, is that she can actually carry a tune and can sing on key!!! Her music is fun, she's fun, THANK YOU MEGHAN for that! With so many so-called "Pop-musicians" out there copying each other and can't carry a tune to save their life, it's so refreshing to hear Megan actually singing on key... Believe it or not, I am musical and understand the true dynamics of music, and the importance of being able to carry a tune, which Meghan does...
I love good music and truly enjoy listening to creative musicians. I mostly enjoy classical music, but occasionally will listen to new stuff. I was curious about her when the song "It's all about that Bass" was released, so I started looking at videos and listening to her music. What I found surprised me and I really like and am enjoying what I hear.
I said before, she is creative. I only hope that she doesn't fall into the trap of becoming satisfied with her new found success. I hope that she continues to grow creatively and musically. Thanks for the posts, and thank you Meghan Trainor, for your music posts...
