Hey Greg. Thanks for the action at Paradise. I hadn't seen this clip but was told of it from a poster on the Paradise cam. Really fun to see that transload yard getting serviced, even more fun to see it being done by 475, or any steam for that matter. Hope you're able to get some more great clips. Great work!
If there was any doubt about 475 being able to pull trains, this removes all doubt. Pushing and pulling freight cars at the same time. Think she’s in great shape.
N&W No. 475 was built as a mainline freight hauler, then got reassigned to branch work in the 1920's, so freight yard work would not be a stranger to such locomotives.
I think people underestimate how strong steam locomotives are. And that they can still be used to pull and shunt the same trains they used to do 100 years ago.

Hello, I meet you today at the 611 this is great footage. The drone video I took isn't what I was hoping for. It's a little pixelated when I zoomed in, I'll have to work on that. The gopro video came out good.
@@GregKelton I just set it on auto shooting in 1080 60 fps. I haven't tried shooting in a higher setting yet. The 1080 is pretty good if I don't zoom in. I'm going to experiment with it more. I will try lowering the ISO.
@@GregKelton Makes sense. Much like model locomotives, the real ones have to be broken in, or, as a character from Thomas & Friends once put it, "I like a good long run to stretch my wheels."
Your video is wonderful! Could you possibly set up a recorder at the track level to record the actual sound. The soundtrack really takes away from the video, just saying!
Is it me or is the wheels going over the track keep looping? I mean the engine is not even moveing and its looping. Kinda annoying otherwise great video

Great to see the Strasburg hauling some revenue freight, alittle income diversity. Using a steam engine to pull it is a bonus.

yes, sound is tuff. to far for a ground microphone. no sound would put you to sleep. So I used some old train sound, but it's at faster speeds.

It was purchased years ago and worked on in the last 2 years. It's not on the Strasburg's normal route.

475, just had it's yearly inspection. So they wanted to put it thru a workout.

When the 116 year old steam engine does a better job than the thing that was built to replace it does.

Drones don't have microphones, too much prop noise, So the sounds are added later so it's not dead silence.
Very cool video but your sound effects clikkity-clack and laughing are annoying.

I would use music to fill the sound gap but overall great video.
