RWYB DRAG RACING AT RETRO SHOW 2022 - SANTA POD RACEWAY

Retro Show at Santa Pod Raceway was back in full form for 2022 after 'Lite' versions of the event were held the past two years. Open to all vehicles pre-2000 there was a great mix of stuff hitting the drag strip including the drag classes Gasser Circus, Supercharged Outlaws & Modified 100E.

drag racing is an American sport and nostalgic culture going back to the rockn roll era , Its good to see the Europeans still flying that flag and racing V8,s that is where it had its roots. Watching a front wheel drive renault up against a turbo golf making psssst pssst noises is a bit like playing johnnie be good on an electric casio keyboard on a piano accordion. Anyway life goes on and if i could get a turbo on my 1991 restored peugeot 505gti wagon i would race it, until then my old Camaro will do this summer. from Australia.
Yes that yellow escort is a killer. There used to lots of the twin cam lotus escorts here in the 1980,s. Mk 1 zephyrs look primitive, love em. The good thing with the V8,s is you drive them to the track, race all day, drive home and take a sunday drive the next day and pull the family boat to the lake., week after week.,
