The soloist is actually a good Vocalist. Just because she's a lower voice doesn't mean she's not good. If you listened to the end, you'll see she's a good Vocalist with jazz style.
Problem is people often tend to compare live singing with an already mixed and mastered version and also compare high Lyrical Sopranos with Altos or contra Altos.
Our voices are different just as our faces are different and inspite of the above terrible habits on comparison that I mentioned earlier, she is actually singing with her Authentic voice.
Voice without chest register at all in the mix is like a house without a foundation.
