a hot dog is NOT a sandwich. No one ever says they want a sandwich and gets a hot dog. A hot dog is a hot dog, a burger is a burger and a sandwich is a sandwich. Great job guys!

One thing that would've been cool to ask is the Name; Sub Hoagie Hero or Grinder some say it depends on the region you live in but I grew up in Socal in the 70s and the first time my mother made them at home she called them Grinders and the first time I ever had one from a sandwich shop was at Queens Grinders and my favorite place in the 80s was Butch's Grinders it wasn't till I moved to Phoenix az for school (mid 80s) that I heard them called subs because we all went to a shop named Mr Submarine (good memories) when I moved back to Socal at the start of the 90s everyone now called them Subs no doubt due to the popularity of SubWay.. Now when we're make them at home my family calls them Grinders but when we're ordering out their Subs haha
p.s. also during this time(s) in socal there was this butcher shop that sold what rhey called a Po' Boy which no one that's ever had a true Po' Boy would call it that it was like Subway's cold cut trio and all the old school food trucks (roach coaches) in socal and phoenix also sold their version of it also called a Po' Boy

Hey, hey, hey... If a hotdog isn't a sandwich because the bread is hinged, then I guess R.I.P. to Cheesesteaks, meatball subs and Banh Mis! ;) Another fun video, guys!

My aunt once ordered us pastrami sandwiches from a pizza place while ordering pizza imagine our surprise when they came on a Hot Dog Bun and not even a Fancy Premium hot dog bun but a cheap generic bun first and last time ordering from there haha.. I do luv a classic grilled cheese (often with soup) but also like them with turkey and a slice of tomato so is it still a grilled cheese or a grilled turkey sandwich and is the popular grilled ham & cheese a grilled cheese or just a sandwich haha

OMG! We would be livid if we ordered a sandwich and it was on a cheap hotdog bun! That is unacceptable!
I think Mikey was right, once you start throwing meat in the grilled cheese, it then becomes more of a panini or grilled meat and cheese sandwich. I think to keep it as close to a "grilled cheese" as possible, its mainly veggies you want to add to it and allow the cheese to be the main star of the sandwich still.
