Awesome! I remember back in the days riding in one of the similar but even more special rainbow livery MB100. In German, we called it „Tropfenbus“, drop-bus. 🙂 That was THE attraction in our neighborhood.

Therefore he and his colleagues took their dealer demonstration vehicles to drive to customer appointments and occasionally also for private purpose. I remember being picked-up from the kindergarten many times in an MB100, T1 or sometimes even in a heavy-duty truck. Also one of this vehicles from the fleet was for some weeks this nice and unforgettable Tropfenbus. That was a great time.
I’d like to ask, if I want to install an OM617 engine block (3.0D) as a naturally aspirated diesel in my Mercedes MB100, what modifications would I need to make? Is there any photo or documentation available that shows how the engine is positioned in the Mercedes van? If you could help, please let me know! Thank you very much! Hi there Norbert, for as far as we know the engines are just slightly adapted to fit the MB100's, things like the oil pan and intake for example are different compared to those in standard person cars

Und unserer Meinung nach einer der hässlichsten Vans aller Zeiten und technisch wie von Ihnen richtig beschrieben, zwar " handlich "aber trotzdem" antiquarisch auf Basis des Hanomags . Da hilft auch kein AMG Kit mit Spoiler, Verbreiterung, Fahrwerk und Motortuning🤣. Kiste bleibt einfach Kiste ! Und das hat ihm auch seinen verdienten schlechten Ruf, vor allem was die negative TÜV Statistik angeht auch nicht besser dastehen lassen😇 . Mein Freund 😍 hatte in den 2000ern 2 Ami Vans (Womo) von GMC /Benziner , einen 80 er Low Top /"A Team Style" mit 5 l und 350PS, mit Holey Vergaser, Fächer Krümmer, scharfer Nockenwelle, gesperrter Hinterachse, 3 Gang Automatik usw. 😀. Und da ging wirklich was, Leistungsmäßig 😀☺️👋👍. Der 2.war ein Vandura 90er jahre , 2500,mit High Top und 5,7 L TPI Einspritzung und immerhin noch 215 PS 😇und einem 4 Gang Automatikgetriebe mit "Overdrive" . Und natürlich mit der Volllederausstattung in Blau /Kapitän Chairs, Cragar Felgen usw🤩. Und so etwas ist unserer Meinung nach der Maßstab und nicht so ein" 0815/ MB100 /AMG / Van von Mercedes 👎.
An MB 100 that has not yet completely rusted away? It must have been parked only in air-conditioned garages immediately after the conversion and never taken outside in fog or even rain.
The Gent 's from Sneek. Nice Collection. Had to drive this Piece in End of 90s during my Military service. Hate it and love it at the same time. Unkomfortabel. The old chassis from Hanomag was definitly not a good choice.
Volgens mij is de meest bijzondere bus ter wereld de VW T3 B32 die door Porsche is aangepast voor parijs-dakar, voorzien van een 3,2L boxer. Er zijn er maar 7 van gebouwd 😊

Als kind ben ik begin 80er jaren in Spanje geweest. Daar heb ik ze toen al zien rijden. In de 90er jaren heb ik er zelf nog op gereden in het personenvervoer. Wat een waardeloze dingen waren het.

The unreliable engine is a shame, especially from AMG 😢
