      Charles was the only one predicting the semi-finals and finals correctly, then he loses his mind and just jumps on the Boston bandwagon. Sadly we won't get to watch him be wrong on live TV. Maybe next year someone can remind him.

    I refuse to acknowledge that the Celtics are this historically good team. I was just looking at the standings last night to refresh myself on exactly how much better the West was vs the East and it feels really bad. I know that the West is ALWAYS more competitive and I'm always dunking on the East for that reason...but this season it feels like it's undeniable.
    Nearly HALF of the East was under 500. Just 1/4 of the West was under 500. The 11th best team in the West was the Rockets at 41-41. The 11th best team in the East were the 50 loss Nets.
    So one could argue that 1/4 of the Celtics schedule is nothing but stat padding opportunities. Could you say for certain that Luka wouldn't have 1 more 40+ point game this year if he had 2 more games with the Hawks? If the Mavs had 2 more games with the Wizards that would be 2 more chances at holding a team to under 100 and have double-digit wins.
    The Celtics are exactly what would happen if you took a Western Conference team and put them in the East. And they wouldn't even be a GREAT Western Conference team. They'd be like the Suns...an amazing Top 5-6 players but very little after that. They don't have the benches that the Best of the West brings to the table.
    So while I recognize that White is a really good rim protector for a guard. I've seen him make several blocks from behind in the playoffs. But then I have to remind myself....we're talking about Nembhard and not Shai, Luka, Harden, Fox, Booker, healthy Murray, AntMan, Jalen Green.
    The East is just SIGNIFICANTLY INFERIOR to the West this season. You can't even give me names of ordinary duos that the Celtics faced these playoffs, forget about naming Batman & Robin type duos. Just give me ONE ordinary duo that your "casual" fan would know. The closest you can get is Haliburton & Turner. There was no Mitchell & Allen until literally there was no Mitchell & Allen in the series. No Butler & Bam.

      Dallas is better at the #1, better at #2, and better at #5. They have the more aggressive bench, but Boston has the better shooters on the bench so we'll have to see how that shakes out. If you can keep a hand in their faces at the 3pt line, they have no other offense. They stand around waiting for someone to iso if they can't get an open 3pt shot. They have no plays, and their offensive rebounding consists of Brown and Tatum crashing and hoping for the best. If Dallas plays smart this could be a one-sided series.....in a good way.

      IF the Mavs stay on their man. Boston gets the vast majority of their points by getting open looks from 3. Once they're hot, Tatum and Brown can hit with a hand in their face, but NONE of them can get themselves open like Luka or Kyrie. If Kidd has them helping on the ball, someone will be open and they WILL hit the shot. If Dallas defends like the NFL does (man to man), it will destroy Boston because they have no organized offense.

      @SDesWriter 3 місяці тому

      @@XzavianA I've literally heard every single analyst say it. Of course they're ranked #3. They have 5 guys in the starting lineup (and at least 2 bench players) who can shoot 37% or better from 3. When defenders get lost or on kickouts they get open looks and that's their offense. Tatum has universally criticized for standing around waiting to shoot a three. You have everyone from ex-players to real analysts talking about how stagnant their offense is and that they are only doing well because they have so much talent.
      They've been like this for 3 seasons. No movement, no plays, just standing around waiting for iso play or someone getting past their man so they can kick out to an open shooter. They shoot 43 shots from the 3pt line per game. That is insane. Make that percentage drop by 5% and they can't win.

    • @SDesWriter
      @SDesWriter 3 місяці тому +1

      @@XzavianA They're not top 3 defense. OKC, Wolves, and Dallas are all better. Denver is arguably better. If you're referring to a specific stat then you're including the number of turnovers on offense (which leads to fast break points), number of missed baskets (which leads to fast break points) and offensive production which causes teams to take tougher shots out of desperation to come back.
      Their 2 minute defense against Indy was on point every game. But most of the rest of the game they were pedestrian.

    Boston is going to be a world of hurt in this series. Dallas is on a whole different level than what Boston has faced so far in the playoffs. Porzingas and Horford cannot hang with Lively and Gafford. Porzingas will be extremely rust and always in foul trouble. Luka and Kyrie are the better point duo. The rest of the role players is a toss up. Its going to be great series but I think Dallas has the edge. And as far as will is concerned I just think Dallas wants it more for many different reasons.

    Boston was 1-1 vs OKC, 1-1 vs the Wolves, 1-1 vs the Clippers, and 0-2 against Denver. That is 3-5 against the top 4 teams in the West. Dallas just beat 3 of the 4 teams who had an even record with the Celtics. Stop pretending they have an advantage. The point is that against the best teams, the Celtics struggled while they cleaned up against the mid-level and bad teams.

      Both teams are coming off a week of rest so they’ll be just fine in that regard, but Boston hasn’t played anyone so they’re going to be quite shocked when the game starts and they have to face the number one defense in the last two months of the season and in the playoffs.

      He played hard defense against the Wolves (except game #4) and put up 36 on great efficiency in game 5. If he's guarding Tatum or White, he's not going to expend much energy.
