    Great video, I like the attention to detail throughout and even showing the design changes. Most people try to cut that out but it's nice knowing someone who did it and learned from it to show others why you did it this way over another way.

      … brother, I appreciate you stopping by and taking the time to comment. I also agree with you - there are too many edits on UA-cam nowadays. I love watching fishing videos of guys pulling one fish after the other, but when you go to the same spot with the same bait, you catch nothing. It makes you wonder how many days of filming they did to catch the 3-4 fish they caught on video. Oh well, it is entertainment. Thank you once again!

      @@CubanRedneck I agree, I do fishing to and watch it as well. Remember hearing about those 2 guys cheating for adding weights to the fish and they got called out for it.

    I respect and admire your level of knowledge and am wondering if you could tell me if a strut brace would help to increase the lifespan of my struts or other components of the vehicle? Or if it just creates a stiffer ride? Because I have noticed a bit of body roll in my maverick when taking some turns on the highway

    • @CubanRedneck
      @CubanRedneck  Рік тому +2

      … hey, thank you for stopping by. The strut bar is going to allow the truck to manage turns a little better by controlling body flex. The Maverick is a unibody. It does not have a chassis like a Ranger or 150. Bracing the upper open architecture of the suspension allows the tire to track better and maintain a better contact patch. As far are the strut life, it is irrelevant, but it may prolong alignment on vehicles that run on rough streets. My truck is getting 18 wheels, low-profile tires, and springs as soon as they are available for the FWD models. The struct brace is imperative with such suspension mods.

      @@CubanRedneck thank you very much for the information! I appreciate it! I think I am going to try one out seeing as they are cheap and relatively easy to install. The roads where I live are typically quite rough so helping maintain alignment would definitely be worth it.
      Thank you again!

      …LOL, thank you for stopping by! Honestly, I just took a random picture of the size I needed, 1920 X 1080. I was not trying to hide where I am at, but rather give an idea of the scenario where having a non-flexing front end is ideal!

    What are the torque specs for the Maverick on those bolts?

    • @CubanRedneck
      @CubanRedneck  Рік тому +1

      …hey, thank you for stopping by! I am not 100% sure about the Maverick, but for example, on a Mustang Cobra, the structs are 26 ft. Lbs., and the strut tower brace is 41 ft. Lbs. I torqued mine to 40 ft. Lbs. I don't see it needs more than that!

    Where did you get that ecoboost cover? It looks so good! did it pop on or did you need additional mounting plugs and brackets for it to work?

    • @CubanRedneck
      @CubanRedneck  Рік тому +1

      ... the cover is off a 2022 Escape with the 2.0 EcoBoost. I got it at my local dealer. I think I have the part numbers on my blog. But if you can't find it, hit me back. I am still limited to internet connectivity from Hurricane IAN, but I may be able to look it up. It snaps into place. You also need to buy what is called a "BALL STUD" for the left rear corner. The two front ones are built into the intake manifold and the right rear is a M8 X 12 bolt. The cover is more than pretty. It is a pretty good noise suppressor. That's why it is standard on all the luxury models.

      ... thank you, that will be part of the hard tonneau cover video. Thinking of making a fiberglass, perhaps carbon fiber bed cover for about 1/2 of what a soft top cost. I have been MIA for personal issue, the weather has not cooperated, and NOW dealing with IAN aftermath, but I will be accelerating video production in the next few month. Once again thank you for stopping by!

    All new cars need a ferrous shelf to hold a magnetic nut and bolt bowl.

      …tell me about it! And given the recent high levels of EMPs emitted during the solar storms, it is always good to have a good ground to protect all your electronics. 🤣🤣🤣

  • @Boringdad1
    @Boringdad1 2 роки тому +2

    Ok. I went to do this and found it pointless. There is a cross member already spanning between the two strut towers underneath the windshield cowl

    • @CubanRedneck
      @CubanRedneck  2 роки тому +4

      … yes, and so does every late model vehicle, from door hinge to door hinge to protect the cabinet area in a side crash. However, the cross member is in the shape of a "C" facing forward in relation to the struct towers and does nothing to control the upper strut tower flex and distortion. The brace makes that a BOX. I have redesigned the struct bar since that video after realizing how much force was being applied to the attachment point and to accommodate four AEM Smart coils. With low-profile 18s and springs, the strut bar makes a noticeable difference at my local autocross track. But I will acknowledge that it has little value for a daily driver.
