  • Scott Toy Guru Neitlich from Spector Creative shares the script treatment he wrote after leaving Mattel for a potential MOTU live action movie. While Sony is developing the movie, here is his take on how it could all go down, designed for fans but also for mainstream audiences with a 4-quadrent approach. What could the He-Man movie be, well here is one possibility...

a little note, the weapon Marlena uses to shoot Keldor and save Randor should be a normal gun. You know, some earthling technology can be the key to set up this events, and something Keldor doesnt know and doesnt have magic against. It would be a great moment

I think that would be cool too... maybe have a scene at the beginning of the movie where Randor offers her a laser gun and she says "no thanks, I prefer my 9mm".

In an alternate reality, this became a movie with all the creative control headed by Scott. Wow! And to think that there's nobody at Sony who can & or is not capable of writing a script like this. It would be a wonderful trilogy, bridging the game between old & new & would properly give MOTU the respect it deserves. Most importantly, it would bring in new fans that have never heard of MOTU before. Oh the world they would witness! I think the 1st time Adam changes into He-Man & Cringer to Battle Cat would be a cinematic moment in time.😢

Wow!!! This is an amazing draft script I ever listened to. As a matter of fact, I envisioned the whole story in my mind, and for some reason when Adam turned to HeMan, the Spanish HeMan song started to play in my mind, and I even shed a tear at that moment. This is the type of movie I would pay to see. I'm scared with Sony's acquisition of the character, because Sony killed a few franchises with their SJW nonsense. An example of that is Ghostbusters. And after seeing Kevin Smith's drawings for Netflix series, and an image of Teela that left a lot to be desired along with Evil Lynn and another female character that I've never seen, I wonder how far are they going to take the brand into something that us diehard fans won't even recognize anymore? But BRAVO to your script! BRAVO!!!

100% agree... I would rather there be no He-man movie, instead of a PC / SJW movie. I think everyone is sick of that sort of crap. America craves a return to the style of movies we all loved in the 80s/90s. I loved Marvel and Star Wars as a kid and I haven't even seen the last couple of movies because both franchises have just been completely ruined by the SJW types in control.

    • @loribernardisunwell9663
      @loribernardisunwell9663 Рік тому

Im sorry but Kevin Smith ruined the character of Teela, and the show in general. As another commenter said, he SJW'd the 💩 out of it and it absolutely sucked lol. Sure would appreciate it if they would just stick to the original format. Everyone has an agenda to prove with the characters now instead of any kind of compelling storylines to write...just sayin.

I would tweak the early scene to specifically include dialog admitting failure to opening a worm-hole with "current" Earth technology. Marlena disappears into a worm-hole anyway... This will leave an opening that explains how Earth ended up in Eternian mythology. In another movie, it can be revealed that The worm-hole was actually opened by HOARD PRIME during ancient times. Marlena simply 'found' that worm-hole. This can be used to also explain why He-Man has an ancient Earth symbol (Crusaders Cross) on his armor. It is obvious , there is a connection between Earth and Eternia.

Really cool. A little complicated for one installment. And He-man becoming He-man felt a little late, but that's a tricky call no matter which way you go. I REALLY loved the entire beginning before the 25 years later. That was gold.
Though it would appeal to the studios to make He-man a protagonist with a classic growth story arch, I actually think he works better as a fully-formed static character, who does not learn or change. It's considered a faux pas, but CAN be done, and honestly? That's the era from which He-man was born. He's not a stand-in for us, but an ideal to look up to. He-man doesn't go on a journey, everything else around He-man is on the journey and bounces off his principals, honor and strength.

Where's Orko? Anyway, I saw what you did there Scott. 😏😄 Your back door pitch for a M.O.T.U. movie is dope. I've always said that the elements were already in place for M.O.T.U. to become a franchise with if properly written and you've proven that point. A producer needs to pick this up because all of the "heavy lifting," (in terms of fleshing out Eternia and it's denizens,) has already been done and the only thing that needs to be finished is the script.
Also, I have to give props for the visuals. I've done Power Point presentations and I know what a chore finding the right pictures and syncing them up can be. Good luck with this project.

Neat stuff. You really did capture that Hollywood adaptation vibe, somehow. The only real problem I see is that it feels too densely packed, with too little actually happening.
I don't know anything about script-writing, but it feels like you might should cut the prologue, since it's kinda long, and could be expanded into a movie in it's own right. I would maybe start it in the middle of a banquet or somesuch, honoring the anniversary of Keldor's exile. We'd get a bit of exposition about the prologue events without giving it all away. And then someone would notice Adam wasn't in attendance, and we'd cut to him partying it up as in your version.

Okay, call me Debbie Downer if you must, but this sounds like "Prince Adam: The Movie" with He-Man in the last 20 minutes. He even reverts back to Prince Adam while defeating Skeletor. I'm not much of a fan of those types of superhero movies because they're like the ones I grew up watching. There are some themes and elements we share in our ideas for making MOTU into a film. My approach is treating it like Avengers. Like Captain America, Iron Man, Thor, and Hulk, we need to see He-Man in action more than once in this movie if kids are going to pay attention and bug their parents to buy the toys and go see it again in the theater. Yes, those characters had plenty of build up in their previous solo movies, but there was enough expositon where an uninitiated, mature audience could infer what made those characters tick, and the world they inhabit, while not being completely lost if Avengers was the first time they ever experienced the Marvel brand. MOTU needs that, and it can be done.

Wow! This is really great. I remember begging my parents to take me to the MOTU movie every day for like a week, then getting to go see it... I don't think I hated it back then, I still kinda like it, but it wasn't what it could/should have been.

Why oh Why haven't we been giving a MOTU MOVIE worthy of its title, as a kid growing up in the 80s He-man was everything to us, in the hands of the right people we could have a EPIC trilogy, think Lord Of The Rings meets Star Wars, set on Eternia and not Earth they have great stories and amazing characters to work with and most of all they have the technology now and the robotics to create summut so, so special and its not like they have to start from scratch, they have the IP already people, its the same for ThunderCats why isn't these 80s greats being snapped up by Warner or Legendary, its mind blowing honestly!!! 🏰 ⚡🗡

I enjoyed this, Scott! I have read quite a few treatments and scripts. It was well thought out, especially when looking at this with your background which will equally focus on the selling of toys. That being said, there are aspects that I felt were more “fan-film” toward the end. Overall, it seems very solid. I do feel that you would be a crucial source for whomever eventually creates a MOTU film. Universe building is important for a property such as this. Unfortunately, I have no connections with Sony Pictures, but do with other film studios, as I’m a producer as well as a film festival director. As a huge MOTU fan, I do hope that you reach out to the studio and open a dialogue to see where they are concerning the property. With the current resurgence of MOTU within the public eye, I would suggest you strike while the iron is hot. Good luck and thank you for the excellent videos.

  • @EternalRoman

Sounds good enough, though I never cared much for Marlena's Earth origin on Filmation. To me the Planet of Eternia should be its own thing, because one of the gripes many fans had with the Original movie was indeed having Earth as most of the story taking place in it. And thankfully the original ending of the movie was never made to show that Eternia was indeed Future Earth. As a collector from the original and 2002 lines, I always saw MOTU as not connected to Earth at all, its own world. Avatar: The Last Earth Bender managed that perfectly; making their world be just that, their world, so I believe that it is where it hits the best.
I too came up with a history for MOTU that had many things from most of the stories that were made. Marlena came from a kingdom or Tribe in Zalesia that was very technologically centered as it was steering a bit away from their magical origins. They had connections to King Grayskull himself, in the sense that Marlena was indeed the direct descendant of KG instead of Randor as a surprise. Evil Lynn being from Zalesia as well, grew up with Marlena (same tribe) and saw the latter as a rival, and her father Nikolas Powers, one of their tribes Elders and Wizard. (I made the origins of many of the characters be an amalgamation of what came before, but leaving all of Earth's connection out).
Adora as She-Ra was not Adams sister, but in fact also his ancestor (G++++Grandmother), as in King Grayskull's and Sorceress Veena's own Daughter who was born after KG died battling Hordak imprisoning him in Despondos like in the '02 series. The Elder Counsel Member's Hall of Wisdom was also known as the Crystal Palace, and it was they whom had made She-Ra's sword to make Adora the Protector of the Crystal Palace. She was kidnapped when she was 8 from a caravan where she was being taken with the swords to be trained at the Crystal Palace, and Hordak's surviving lackeys had united and took her. Shadow Weaver along with Scare Glow (a resurrected Nocturnian High Priest of Hordak that fell in the battle against KG and Hordak) lead the followers of Hordak and seek his return. They brainwash and enslave Adora training her as an assassin to have her attack the Elders. The are in the realm of Etheria a land far away (I also didn't like it to be on another planet or dimension originally) which is where the Plains of Perpetua (Cue Ram Man's fear of the Dark) is located at and were the underground realm of Nocturnia is. Etheria is heavily centered in Magic, in contrast to what was happening to Zalesia, and to reach Etheria one must either be with people whom are practitioners of magic.
The Elders had made She-Ra's sword as in the '02 Skeletor's Sword as two blades in homage of the 80s two swords in contrast to KG's sword that was made from the Actual Star Seed itself. SR's sword had a piece of the Elder's Power that was given to them by KG when he died, hence her Power as his daughter is great like her late father. As for KG and He-Man's sword lays in Castle Grayskull in wait for the prophesied He-Man. SR's sword divided were known as the Light Blade of Protection and the Dark Blade of Conflict. In the future Keldor discovers these blades as in the og Mini Comics, separated and hidden after SR's duty ended in the protection of the Counsel of Elders took on to be the ruling body of Eternia till He-Man's time was to come as seen as in the '02 series.
The line of Mirro and one of the Garr tribes would birth two children, Randor and Keldor, the latter 5 years older than Randor, but they would be from the same Gar mother. But the predjudice against the Garr people would exist especially in their looks. The stained history passed down that supposedly the fanged Elfen Garr tribes betrayed King Grayskull in the battle against Hordak, but they were in fact fighting against the surviving Snakemen whom were left as scavengers after Hordak had defeated King Hsss and his legions. The Garr were pacifists originally, not unlike Elves or Dark Elves from D&D, with blue skin, piercing red eyes and fangs and were more into healing magic than battle centered magic. As such, the Garr were not fighters, and were targeted by the Snakemen for food. In the time after She-Ra, enter General Mirro and his Army whom battled rogue forces throughout Eternia selected by the Counsel of Elders and Teelana, the recent Sorceress of Grayskull, would come to the aid of the Garr and in there Mirro would meet his wife and mother of Randor and Keldor.
This is but a summary of what I made, I just wish I could had gone somewhere with it, but it was my Fan Fic, leaving the Earth connection out and making the World of Eternia as vast and great as Middle Earth, Westeros, Nosgoth and the such.
