You are a *survivor.* You survived it, and you’re living with the trauma, but you’re still here. You’re still alive. You’re still with us. And that’s all anyone should ever ask of you. When you’re ready, I recommend going to a therapist for it, and if you’re comfort maybe try out some medication for the ptsd symptoms. I am not a licensed therapist or psychologist and am not specifically on ptsd meds myself, so I’m not sure exactly what it will look like and you should take everything I say with a grain of salt, but I’ve heard that it can help survivors of that sort of thing cope. I am sending you all the love and prayers (if you believe in that type of thing) in the world. The song is right, you *are* more than your body. It is just gut-wrenchingly awful that there are people in the world like this, and I hope you start to feel better eventually. Don’t rush it, and remember that it *does get better.* 🫶
