I live in Miami and, as a black Cuban, have experienced racism from white Cubans. I was working in an apartment complex, and an older white Cuban woman was telling me I had to leave the property because I didn't belong there. Even though I wear a uniform with company ID, she wouldn't leave me alone. Thankfully, another lady saw what was going on and put an end to her harassment. White Cubans are extremely racist, more racist than white Americans in most cases.
They are terrible. During the time before Castro, Cemetries were segregated. One of the first things Fidel did was to demolish them. These Cubanos hate Fidel Castro and Black people.
I’ve dealt with a lot of racist Cubans in south Florida.. especially the Cuban cops…

I lived in Puerto Rico and my girlfriend was very dark. She regularly pointed out how she was treated like a second-class citizen.
I didn't share my own experiences with her because I did not want her to walk around being angry. I simply acknowledged and had short conversations about the thinhs she told me.
She didn't realize I previously lived then and even owned a house on the other side of the island.
I had conversations with people in the past who claimed racism didn't exist there. I pointed out how MS PR looked like she was caucasian, people in television, the front and host at expensive hotels, the people working in the front of fancy restaurants, and almost everything highligjted in the public were very light skinned people. They make a lot of money doing this because THEY get compensations for what happens to them whereas black people who are tired of getting theur daily portions of racism get backlash and are factually sanctioned for speaking up.
So yes I do care. Because it's not only about me, it';s also about my children and everybody in my family and outside who looks like me. So I urge all black people to care. If white people even think they are being discriminated by a black person once in 35 years of their lives they start complaining angrily that "now you guys are doing it yourself!!" and keep talking about that because they don't experience their usual privilege.

The racism of brown latinos against black latinos is a covert theme in Latin America. A black Brazilian activist, Livia Zaruty, made it public, bringing acknowledgement of the problem. As Brazilians and other latin Americans are far from the one drop racial principle of U.S, an afro descendant brown person is not identified as black. The Portuguese colonizers were moderately African mixed (around 5 % of their genoma was/is black) and self identified as white (till today). What I have noticed is that a black person racially mixes with an white person, breeding a mixed race next generation that in Brasil, despite considered to be black, feels racially upgraded, if this mixed race generation mixes with white people again the result is the brown Brazilian, who will not be considered black despite considerable black ancestry. Not all of them, but a large number of the brown Brazilians will hate black people, out of projection I think. Livia Zaruty dennounced this behavior, what she didnt say is that large number of the browns are hateful of white people as well but for a different reason, while the browns hate blacks out of contempt, the browns hate the mediterranean whites out of envy, in the other hand browns are very submissive to Germanic Brazilians, an ethnical minority of some millions. I am a white mediterranean Brazilian and have felt this issue on my skin, many, many times. For sake of that it's easier to me to befriend black Brazilians than brown Brazilians, blacks will be glad if you treat them as equals and they will reciprocate this treatment. Browns eventually will backstab you out of racial envy (if you are mediterranean white) or hate (if you are black). That's the sad truth, despite that I believe we are all evolving as ethical beings, and there will be a moment we will accept all differences with a brotherly attitude.
I don't go with the term 🖤 we come in various shades of 🟤's . Colours. If we go there
I am African American, reddish brown skin tone. My mother has dark skin. So we would be considered Black and Brown. Latino are light skin mixed race people with yellow to pale skin tones. Where is the brown at?

@@Zimaala if you were born in Brazil instead of the US you would have consider yourself a Pardo. If you were born in South Africa you would have been consider Coloured...
As an African and a Kenyan I don't care if anyone different from us is racist or not. Even if you talk of racism white people will never change about it and if you talk of tribalism in Africa it's literally ending slowly because it's a White man's strategy for divide and conquer that is literally losing taste in us. Hope one day we fully unite to build ourselves economically and stop giving audience to the irrelevant feelings caused by people who want us never to exist.
I think what we’re having to identify is no longer about racism but colorism.
As most people point out the ones who fled Castro were not morally upstanding people … so yes they would be prejudice or hateful
Not moral to escape a fascist government? You know nothing about all the successful black artists, athletes, professors, doctors , lawyers that fled looking for freedom to prosper, freedom of movement and freedom of speech

Why do you care that others hate you for being black? Be black and proud. They just jealous and you will be here long after they are dust!
People hate wnat they cannot have!
I am Cuban , and I can assure you that the first girl in the video is not treated like a black girl here in Cuba , they make you a compliment and you turn to the worng way , common girl you know you have pretty privilege
I can tell that first girl if she would move any place in the United States other than Florida she was fine that they would discriminate against her. You should treat all people respectively no matter what race they are.
These stations should be banned in Jamaica and throughout the Caribbean.Let them keep their racism to themselves.
She's telling the truth she a good person
There are Cubans in Florida like that. Some look White, because one tried to get my number, and I’m not really light skinned, but I didn’t give my number. I usually don’t view videos entitled “why I don’t like Black people”, because I love me, and God does too, and that’s enough!!😅
So are all Cubans racist to you? And white Cuban asked you out and did you reject because he wasn’t your type or because he was a white man ?.
Some look white because they are white their ancestry is probably from Spain.
I live in Miami.....got a lot of racist Cubans
@@anthonypinkney6536 lol I'm from Miami born and raised I'm Puerto Rican 🇵🇷 never had a problem
Good for you
It’s self hatred. They realize theiy are not white-white when they see you. In other words, since there is something in your look they like and is similar to them in one way or another and they realize your black they are reminded they are not what they want to imagine they are.
It's a shame that our Latino brother's and sisters have come to my country where my great and great great grandparents lost their lives and fought for freedom and the Latinos not all have the nerve to treat my black brother's and sisters like dirt. My ancestors made it possible for you to be here enjoying what they died for
Let s call it what it is, "inferiority complex".
I went to Cuba over 20 years ago, and I was shocked at all decedents of Africans. But most higher grade jobs were filled by lighter skinned people. But most of the folks I saw were darker skinned Cubans.
Where in Cuba? In Guantanamo almost everyone is black, mix.
They not like us🖤
That’s why racially ambiguous Phillip Michael Thomas was cast to play Ricardo Tubbs on Miami Vice in the 1980s. If he were too dark-skinned, especially in the 1980s, his character and Crockett would’ve dealt with racial issues whenever Tubbs went undercover.
The writers and producers didn’t want to expend too much intellectual capital addressing race on the show.
Dark-skinned males were always day-player actors playing cops or criminals.
@@DeCurtaRican very interesting you mentioned that. It's why I found it very cool that Michael Mann casted Jamie Foxx to play him in the movie.
Grew up with Cubans in Miami. There always was an unspoken tension. Why did we not see Cubans and Blacks working together in a place like Miami? Never experienced a Cuban person say anything racist but the results speak for themselves. You just had to live there to understand the unspoken divide. Not saying they are bad people, and nothing applies to all people. However, many of them seem to distance themselves from African Americans. As for Cuba itself, can't speak on the country itself.
Black Cuban are the original

Black folks got nothing productive to do in their life but to talk about other people. And why do we have these africans following suit and not speaking on their own stuff in their country
What do you mean start? We've been covering this topic it's just y'all finally moved away from Dominicans. There's racism and anti-Blackness in almost every country in the world including African and Black ones. And there's a big anti immigrant sentiment towards Latinos in this country and a lot of that comes from African Americans. Since I was very young I always noticed Black people didn't associate with Latinos even ones who were Black. Made fun of and bullied them for not being American enough. A lot of these anti-Black and racist sentiments come from the experience AA people have put Latinos through. Y'all always thought you were better and now you wanna speak about the lack of unity? And whenever a Puerto Rican did you dirty you make a point to share that with me because I'm half Puerto Rican. Ma'am, we are not a monolith 😂
The black taxi driver wasn't being racist he was letting her know how she will be treated even with her mixed heritage. He told her so she can be prepared for it. The day she experiences it she's going to remember what he said.
