I was blessed to have met the man of my dreams, we were both construction workers who no one would expect were gay. But as our relationship went in year after year, we let everyone know . Sadly after being together for 34 years my partner passed away in his sleep on the morning of his 65th birthday. If anyone finds that special person hold on as tight as you can because it can be taken away at any moment
My partner passed away in September, we were together 17 years. I'm 36... Autistic, he teach me so much about the world. Social skills. Fears, etc i enjoyed every moment from the begining. I will miss him forever
This is an EXCELLENT movie. I was all in from the beginning. I laughed and I cried! Thank you to the amazing actors and all who helped make this movie.
Watched Call Me by Your Name, God's Own Country, Red White & Royal Blue, Firebird, Eismayer, Burning Blue. all great love stories and with each movie I thought "damn, this might be the best passion I've seen." But no, this film is by far the most passionate, emotional, romantic, and hopelessly in love gay film I've seen.
I came across this video and then watched the movie multiple times. Never has a movie drawn me in or affected me to the point In From the Side has. The shots of Mark looking at Warren throughout the movie, especially at the Fair, showed, at least to me, how much Mark loves this man. I really wanted things to turn out differently and still want them to end up together in a sequel :). Warren did indeed have his chance with Mark and he didn't take it. As hard as it was to admit, Mark made the right decision even after the emotional scene between the 2 of them at the end of the movie. Well done, Matt Carter.
I agree with you on every word! They love each other very much, but Mark was hurt (rightly so), while Warren was cowardly in not defending him from all humiliation and not ending his relationship with John even though he loved the other. Mark made the right decision for both of them and learned his lesson. If Warren had the courage to break up with John, with time maybe they could be together, because it was true love.
The power and potency of "the love that dare not say its name" will not be extinguished. That love will NOT be silenced, never set to quiet. Its depths cannot be measured.
I'm guessing this comment comes from someone who hadn't seen the movie. They weren't "silenced" due to any form of homophobia or anything like that since they're playing for a gay rugby league and both of them are out and proud. They're being secret because they both have boyfriends that they're cheating on with each other.

Regardless its ending and what they feel, I just couldn't find true happiness for them because both of them are wrong and cheating is cheating and it will always be a mistake. If you don't love your partner then tell it to him or breakup with that person so that it's clear and well communicated to get what you want and love the person you really want.

I really thought Warren didn't care about Mark, and that he was just killing time with him, but seeing him break down at the end of the movie and crying desperately just broke my heart. He really did love him😭😭
Warren’s crying just was so heartbreaking. He went from the cocky A team member in the beginning of the movie to completely rejected and heartbroken in the end. 😢
I think he didn't really care at first. Mark was just another fling of probably many, but at the end he got obsessed with him, particularly after the visit to Mark's parents. A common thing in homosexual relationships is that we desire guys that we envy.

this movie is remarkable, from the script to the actors. you can clearly feel them entering you throughout the film and beyond. i didn't expect a better ending, i wanted to scream at the producers that even gay people deserve a happy ending but thinking about it this is what warren deserves: i can only wish him to wallow in his pain and his web of lies continuing to being afraid to step out of his comfort zone for something better. I can instead compliment mark on how he stood up and wish him all the best. for once a different but realistic lgbt film, without homophobia but with a deep meaning.

Admittedly, it was realistic how it ended and I respect Mark for his decision and for standing up for himself, but at the same time it was clear that they do love each other; Warren won’t love his boyfriend John or anyone like he does Mark, but he should wallow in the pain and misery as you say after everything.

@@TheArejaniro Well, Warren’s relationship with John started as he explained to Mark after his injury and while he was unable to play rugby for a time, he was in a bad place and John was good to him and helped him through it - basically, he might have never played again if not for John and that was the only reason why he stayed with him seemingly. In terms of infidelity, Warren had never been unfaithful to John or had an affair with anyone behind his back until he met Mark; Mark was the one and only person who Warren was with through his relationship with John. As for issues in their relationship, there weren’t as many issues between them as Mark had between him and his partner Richard, but when Mark invited Warren to come and meet his parents and spend Christmas there with him - because Richard refused - he asked Warren if he was on his own for the holidays, and Warren replied that he didn’t get on with John’s family; not an issue between them necessarily but they had been together I think for several years which must make it awkward. Maybe Warren and John worked out a compromise that John would see his family and Warren would be apart from him in that time. So, my guess is that Warren maybe just didn’t love John anymore or maybe he didn’t truly love him from the start because, to reiterate, their relationship was born out of John being supportive and helpful to Warren during a tough time so he could get back on his feet again and that that’s why Warren stayed with him - remember at the end, he told Mark he would have left John so that they could be together properly if he wanted that too. As I said, it was realistic that Mark turned him down and they didn’t end up together but it was clear that despite both of their infidelities to John and Rich, Mark and Warren did truly fall in love with each other through all of that and Warren won’t love anyone how he loves Mark even John when they have been together for years.
@@knowledgegathererdraftsave1979 I don't remember when they discussed if it was Warren's first indiscretion. But even if he did say so, it could be a lie, because cheaters lie. They both lied to each other and to everyone else. And given the aggressive way Warren approached Mark at first, it's hard to believe it was his first time. I do not deny Warren developed feelings for Mark. He obviously did. particularly after their time in Geneva. But I do not think it was love and I did not see a way they could end up together. The whole thing took a psychological toll on Mark whereas Warren looked so chill about it, like did he care at all? Even at the end I saw his pleading as a last resource to keep the status quo. I don't think he ever meant to leave John and the way he behaved the whole time was a red flag. I think the director would have had to do mental gymnastics to having them end up together in a way that made any sense.
This is a great song choice for them, the title really has a deep meaning. After watching the film, I just wish to rewind it right back to the start when they first met and then started to fall in love all over again as their story unfolded. How Warren and Mark looked at each other, their special moments and passion and their love, right at the end their final scene was beautiful but heartbreaking, in spite of everything; none of matters because they fell in love throughout all of it and they never stopped loving each other. What hurts is knowing that both of them (Warren especially) will never love anyone they way they do each other.
Yeah I thought it was really nice! It was a bit sad, but it's so refreshing to see a movie where the characters just happened to be gay rather than that being the main issue of the film.....🤔

While the ending was sad. I was very glad that Mark does the right thing in the end. Mark & Warren were great together but yes warren fuck it up in the end and even after all he did it,kept on dating his boyfriend that to me was a big red flag. So yes, Mark did great deciding in the end and that is the highlighting point of the story for me it was so realistic and it was to the point. The script was fantastic and the actors were hot and really good at acting.

Well, Warren’s relationship with John started as he explained to Mark after his injury and while he was unable to play rugby for a time, he was in a bad place and John was good to him and helped him through it - basically, he might have never played again if not for John and that was the only reason why he stayed with him seemingly.
In terms of infidelity, Warren had never been unfaithful to John or had an affair with anyone behind his back until he met Mark; Mark was the one and only person who Warren was with through his relationship with John.
As for issues in their relationship, there weren’t as many issues between them as Mark had between him and his partner Richard, but when Mark invited Warren to come and meet his parents and spend Christmas there with him - because Richard refused - he asked Warren if he was on his own for the holidays, and Warren replied that he didn’t get on with John’s family; not an issue between them necessarily but they had been together I think for several years which must make it awkward.
Maybe Warren and John worked out a compromise that John would see his family and Warren would be apart from him in that time.
So, my guess is that Warren maybe just didn’t love John anymore or maybe he didn’t truly love him from the start because, to reiterate, their relationship was born out of John being supportive and helpful to Warren during a tough time so he could get back on his feet again and that that’s why Warren stayed with him - remember at the end, he told Mark he would have left John so that they could be together properly if he wanted that too. As I said, it was realistic that Mark turned him down and they didn’t end up together but it was clear that despite both of their infidelities to John and Rich, Mark and Warren did truly fall in love with each other through all of that and Warren won’t love anyone how he loves Mark even John when they have been together for years.
@@knowledgegathererdraftsave1979 I don't remember when they discussed if it was Warren's first indiscretion. But even if he did say so, it could be a lie, because cheaters lie. They both lied to each other and to everyone else. And given the aggressive way Warren approached Mark at first, it's hard to believe it was his first time.
I do not deny Warren developed feelings for Mark. He obviously did. particularly after their time in Geneva. But I do not think it was love and I did not see a way they could end up together. The whole thing took a psychological toll on Mark whereas Warren looked so chill about it, like did he care at all? Even at the end I saw his pleading as a last resource to keep the status quo. I don't think he ever meant to leave John and the way he behaved the whole time was a red flag. I think the director would have had to do mental gymnastics to having them end up together in a way that made any sense.
This is a great song choice for them, the title really has a deep meaning. After watching the film, I just wish to rewind it right back to the start when they first met and then started to fall in love all over again as their story unfolded.
How Warren and Mark looked at each other, their special moments and passion and their love, right at the end their final scene was beautiful but heartbreaking, in spite of everything; none of matters because they fell in love throughout all of it and they never stopped loving each other. What hurts is knowing that both of them (Warren especially) will never love anyone they way they do each other.

While the ending was sad. I was very glad that Mark does the right thing in the end. Mark & Warren were great together but yes warren fuck it up in the end and even after all he did it,kept on dating his boyfriend that to me was a big red flag. So yes, Mark did great deciding in the end and that is the highlighting point of the story for me it was so realistic and it was to the point. The script was fantastic and the actors were hot and really good at acting.
