I cannot even begin to express what this song means to me. Andy was such a pure soul who genuinely loved people. And i believe that he believed in the pure simplicity of an old-fashioned and simpler time when life made alot more sense. I believe that this "friendly world" is a symbol of Andy's vision and result of what he would have liked to had accomplished through his lifes work. He enjoyed bringing people together and seeing them happy. There aren't many people in the world like him and it truly is a tragedy. He was a beautiful person with the very light soul of a child,& the world is a darker place without him. Andy,THANK YOU FOR THIS FRIENDLY FRIENDLY WORLD!.. R.I.P.
I was born after Andy Kaufmans death, but even though I’ve never met him or talked with him or anything I genuinely have an emotional connection with him. There’s literally not a single other celebrity that makes me feel that way, but Andy just seemed like a sweet guy and I would’ve loved to be friends with him. I look up to him and if I’m able to leave a quarter of the impact that he did when I grow up, I’d be honored.
Who wouldn't wamt this at theie funeral?Carol Kame was the only Taxi friens who went to Andy's. Makes me cry everytrime. Andy was always seemingly there for me as a little boy growing up in Chicago. I understood him when my parents didn't. I only wish the children of today can find their own Andy for today's difficult oceana they will have to navigate. Andy Kaufman Captain My Captain!everything. Hats off Bob Zmuda!
As a 15 year old who’s apart of Gen Z, my version of your Andy Kaufman IS also Andy Kaufman. It actually pains me the fact that what’s probably a majority of my generation doesn’t know who he is.
Andy Kaufman as a performer... he wanted his audience to go on an emotional journey of all the emotions that adults lose as they get older from kids... the innocence, the friendliness, the empathy, the frustration, anger, and back around to happiness
Glad to know I'm not the only Italian that loves Andy. There is one clip from the album "Andy and his Grandmother" in which he imagines a dialogue with Federico Fellini and he tells him that one of his biggest inspiration as an artist was the movie 8&1/2
andy kaufman was a genius he was ahead of his time for being a comic he was a old fashion soul trying to bring people together he would not only tried to bring people together but he would even make them laugh hell i remember when i was a little guy watching him on tv and he was a nice guy but he would act like an ace hole but thats the way he was some times but i believe that hes still alive but either way we miss you ya magnifecent sum gun
In this friendly, friendly world with each day so full of joy Why should any heart be lonely? In this friendly, friendly world with each night so full of dreams Why should any heart be afraid? The world is such a wonderful place to wander through When you've got someone you love to wander along with you With the skies so full of stars and the river so full of song Every heart should be so thankful Thankful for this friendly, friendly world
At 2:05 we need a better world Andy Kaufman sent out a very good message because today's society is really bad and we need to help out each other to survive in hard times. God Bless Everybody !!! 🙏
part of me gets annoyed at the broken aspect ratio, but then another part of me thinks it was intentional to get a reaction out of people like me. Now i just remember the genius of Kaufman and Zmuda and smile.
Before sublime even your rigaud and artist than as fun in understands the complexities of societee but still decides to say if you're not With "the one you love love the 1 you're with"
come now dude, I agree Andy was the master of uncertainty & deception, but sometimes you got to let go. Andy invented his alter ego & played Tony at the beginning. However, it was his best friend & writer Bob Zmuda that donned the wig, tash & shades for the majority of "Tony's" performances. The "Tony Clifton" who introduced this video & all the others on "His" channel, is blatantly Danny Devito, oops sorry, I meant to say spoiler alert, but if you now any thing about this genius's life (Kaufman), or seen "Man on the Moon", you'll already know that ; )

It's true 👍
1:29 i love that Bob is the only one singing the words, showing that they really were a duo.
This is the loveliest thing on the tube. Thanks Andy

yeah, watching his shows is like watching a child show but somehow it works with adults
God bless you Andy.
He had such a soft heart. A shame many people didn't get Andy's genius in performing art. They also didn't see this soft side of him.
What a Comedic genius and what a wonderful soul he is...thank you Andy.
Definitely love the guy. But some of acts, I just don't get
I love Andy....Thank you Bob...from Italy

It was probably intentional considering the deafening camera shot at the end
Thanks for posting this.

This is one of my favourite songs, are there any other original versions available apart from Carnegie Hall?
This song is criminally short

I think I remember this from man on the moon
Does anybody know who the other people on stage are?
If anyone wants to know that man in the intro of this video is actually Tony Clifton aka Andy Kaufman. The real Andy Kaufman.

Hungry Ghost thats not danny Devito thats bob zmuda
@Truth: Of course it is. I can be really slow sometimes, even when it's staring me in the face ; )
The first time I ever heard this song it was sung by Fabian in the 1959 movie "Hound Dog Man".

The gunshot and logo at the end is really jarring...
Agreed
Less than stellar edit
Andy doesn't blink much.maybe he is crazy!
originally done by Fabian....
*Ties Tony Clifton around an old oak tree* Looking good, man! :D Its really you. B-|
What? Get you out of here? Not my job! *shrugs* ^_^

Hubert Shitmeyer Dude, I love mister Rogers.
