I purchased the original "Disco Confetti" harness to replace my "1.0". The 1.0 is still by a large margin one of the best rigs out there. That said, the 2.0 isn't even on the same planet. It's the Rolls Royce of harness's while the 1.0 is more like the Cadillac. I'm still working on getting my leg straps adjustment set to where I find it best for me, but even adjusted funny the whole harness is just a joy to be in. I do still want a rope bag in the same pattern though. Should have pulled the trigger when I ordered the harness with the phone and water case LOL!
I just received the 2.0. Having - in a “previous” lifetime worked in the design and manufacturing of rock climbing gear and clothing realm - I salute you- well done! I usually buy Teufelberger TreeMotion. This video is very helpful! I am impressed with the fit and adjustability. Sewing is excellent and flawless. Buckles and parts are of top quality- Love the aspect of being able to remove and replace padding elements . Especially how you can “step into the harness”. The suspenders could use refinement in materials (comfort over thin work shirts, drying times etc) and curvature…(but that would make them more expensive) One of my mentors that was the creator of Dana Design backpacks and now MysteryRanch out of Bozeman Montana…learned alot about shoulder straps from him…this finishing comment shall not distract from the fact that I love and recommend your product as a premium investment. Thank you!!!!
Joe is like the mad scientist that stays in his upstairs cave and then one day he yells "its alive" haha. August you have definitely built a legacy for yourself and the people around you. Great job.
I am not a tree worker but have cut down a few small trees on our property over the last 40 years. I was in the maintenance field (retired now) and found your channel by chance last year. I find your content and story telling in your videos to be very informative, interesting and calming, leaving me with the feeling that I just spent my time with a good friend. Thank you for your posts and please take care out in the world. Prayers to you and everyone in your life. From NJ, USA
One of the few ways you can buy speed is a comfortable harness. When I bought my MB saddle 4 years ago it instantly made everything easier. When your comfortable your faster/less fatigued. The backrest/pad was a huge upgrade compared to my old saddle, chunking wood is where that shines. The other top tier saddles just don't match this one for working, got lucky I chose MB
For the one size fits all problem. Would making the base harness compatible with the smallest size (limiting the amount of pockets) and making the added back pad the 1 of four sizes make it a little more manageable?
Quick question? Do I have to recertify my monkey Beaver saddles after five years? Thank you respectfully yours Mark Molina your one-and-only bionic monkey beaver.
As I look at the 2.0 and admire it's craftsmanship & beauty, I can't help but think, "I want to be inside you." Call me what you will. But after a life hanging around loose saddles with equal hardware, I know potential for a safe, secure, and loyal relationship when she's wrapped around my waste... Well done my friends.
My issue with the 1.0 is that the main leg straps do not have enough extra strap that hangs out once it’s clipped to be able to run it back through that suspension D and down to the extra clip to make so the whole leg pad can’t rotate. Is this improved on? When I clip my main leg strap in I then have about 1 inch of extra strap hanging out of the end of the isc buckle. No where near enough to run it up to the suspension D and down to the extra clip that makes the so the pad can’t rotate
Would you say that the difference in back support is minimal or considerable?? I have the Og saddle and I’m recently having a lot of lower back pain.. love the saddle tho.. just curious is the upgrade would be worth it for me
I barely had to make adjustments to my MB2.0 saddle. It felt comfortable after a couple of hours. I really appreciate how solid everything is built, and the velcro to tidy up excess webbing. The hip to leg straps always moved on my Treemotion saddle, and sometimes needed adjustment more than once a day. The MB2.0 has held its position for a month without slipping. Placing the buckles inside on the legs is nice to not have to step through the leg pads. It's still neat that they are swappable and have the same ergonomics if someone prefers the buckles on the outside. The only thing I miss from my Treemotion is the ability to put accessory carabiners anywhere with hundreds of holes all over.
Dang , Awesome Safety Harness! What a journey... I'll be watching this one again, I was noticing your knots at the end of your hanging rope where you klick into your beaner.. I thought those where figure 8 knots but they look bulkier, so they do not slip through. Monkey fists? I have been running an old school flip line across from left to right D ring and clipping into the 2 lines of the flip line, but like your way too with those 2 smaller rings. I am a beginner and learning, a ground Man that goes up on small jobs often solo. I have a few Buckinghams but sure like what you guys have created. Congratulations and Thank you. Would be an Awesome Christmas Present. 😊 (I have a 4 ring sitting harness that is like yours but oold school.)
About to order my monkey beaver 2.0 and I’m a skinny guy 150 lbs soaking wet 32 waist. I’m hoping the medium is the right size I work in BC Canada and I work in the cold and hot. So extra layers in the cold season and less in the summer, hoping the medium is right. @monkeybeaver
My 2.0 came in the mail the beginning of this week. Haven’t really tried it out yet due to all the snow but I can’t wait. The saddle looks super nice. Thanks brother.
Great looking design and I admire the entrepreneurial spirit that'll give you something to fall back on when you go full gimp, or hang up your spurs for good 😁 My one suggestion: if you're going to do more interview type videos, invest in a system so you both have a mic, or at least be more aware of where the mic is and adjust your voice. The stark contrast in volume between you and Joe is quite hard to listen to. Peace. Mark
Enjoyed the video. Very nice presentation video on the Monkey Beaver 2.0 Saddle. Maybe I can purchase one down the road. Seems it would be the cats meow for an old timer like me. 👍
Does the thumbs-up mean that I'm good or does the thumbs-up mean that I have to get it recertified or buy new belts the stitching is good but it's just the course of time that tells. Just trying to follow guidelines
Its oblivious that you're paying for the details and usually the more details makes a superior quality. If your life hangs on these details you can trust your gear. Awesome
I just purchased the 2.0 harness and suspenders. The quality is fantastic. The stitching is perfect. Everything is extremely well made and the design is incredible. it's clear that it's designed by actual tree climbers. I've never seen a saddle that is so adjustable. This harness conforms to you, normally it's the other way around (you have to conform to the saddle). It's very light weight and easy to put on/take off. There's lots of "slots" to add accessories like hooks, rings, loops, etc. I've mounted two transporters along with two accessory D rings, etc. I can't say enough good things about this harness and suspenders. They are head and shoulders above any other that I've seen. Thank you August. You're the real deal.
The Monkey Beaver 2.0 looks well engineered and has quality, professional workmanship so a person is safe, comfortable and secure when working on trees. Blessing to all...
Eh.. that's for bucket or lift operations.. this is for climbing.. there's companies that do 'crossover' or 'combo' rigs, but I think the MB is more than adequate without chasing the extra stuff
wow its almost like the design came from use and experience lol. Well done my friend. if I was more then a recreational climber/ personal firewood this would be the saddle to get!
Wow! That 2.0 is a really nice looking saddle. You showed Joe buckling up but not getting into the saddle, I would've liked to see that. Thanks and keep yourselves safe! 😃👍❤🌲 Randy
I recently purchased a 2.0 and replaced a New Tribe Onyx. Before that I had an Ergovation. 2.0 is the Cat Daddy of saddles. No more back issues (day after climbing) and comfy all day long, doing crane, SRT and MRS. Next adjustment will be installing an adjustable bridge.
The anti-jewel pinch straps are the only reason why I ditched a nearly new saddle for a Monkey Beaver 1.0. So, wish I had known about those straps before I bought my first saddle.
Just wish I knew about the MB saddle when I got started last year. The leg straps look to be set up so much better than every other saddle, including my Notch Sentinel. The engineer in me wants to find a good used HD sewing machine and make a couple mods, like elastic straps to hold down the leg loops. As is, I couldn't climb full-time with the Sentinel. Too painful...choking on my nuts constantly. Doubt I could get any $$ for a slightly used saddle or otherwise I'd upgrade now.
Ok, so when next opportunity of someone coming this way from the states I will arrange things to ger one of your arness. I will go to your website to arrange that. Thanks man , great job.

Very thoughtful and purposeful design. Nicely done.

Great video guys. Always wondered the difference between these two. Helps folks with the decision on which to spend our hard earned cash on.

They both have good back support.
Might try to re adjust it! I had the original MB for months before I got it adjusted right. Made a huge difference
@@SLOCLMBR believe it or not, I’m the same way. I’ll throw the thing on however, it’s configured and go with it for months. 😆
LUXURY SADDLE, makes me want to come out of Retirement, but being 70 my shoulder’s wouldn’t be too Happy!
What’s up August 🤠👌👌🤙Nice 😊
Is there a specific fabric type y'all use? I'm thinking I might want a custom 2.0 if I can source the right pattern in the right fabric.
I’m Joe Consumer and I dig it, thanks

Quick question in general how long should you wait to retire a saddle saying that there isn't any real damage to the stitching ect.
I'll send you my like almost new treemotion for a monkey beaver 😂

Thanks August and Joe the adjustability is why as a lefty I will own one soon 2.0 for the win with suspenders!
a really cool belt. I would like to work with it but unfortunately it has no certification for Europe... Greetings from Germany

Guidelines, say maximum five years, if no wear shows. Personally, I think those are silly guidelines.
This was the video I needed definitly playing around with it a little bit more
Great video super informative!! Thank you both!!
Love the top lumbar added adjustment and pad. Look super comfy, any uk distributors yet?
No, sir, but we ship to the UK often

Nice equipment, sure beats my lineman gear of 40 years ago!
Now i see at 4:19 about the pad ..missed that last time..interesting..
I can’t wait to upgrade from 1.0 to the 2.0.
Love the options.
Great job

What about dorsal attachment point for additional safety? Do you make one yet or have a suggestion for creating one?
Eh.. that's for bucket or lift operations.. this is for climbing.. there's companies that do 'crossover' or 'combo' rigs, but I think the MB is more than adequate without chasing the extra stuff
Wow I should have watched this video a long time ago! Looks like I just unlocked some new features!
That beard!!!! I know, I geek out on you with a beard...and I'm not the beard type lady!! But you, August, you wear it well!
Can you make a 2.0 for 60" waist and 300 lb guy?
That was a great harness tutorial. My long wanted harness understanding is now clear, thanks.
Super impressed by what you guys have done with that operation! :{)
wow its almost like the design came from use and experience lol. Well done my friend. if I was more then a recreational climber/ personal firewood this would be the saddle to get!
Thank you for your time!!!
❤❤❤Love my 2.0!!!❤❤❤
Well at least your watching out for your boy's not getting smashed up.
What size is Joe wearing in the video ?
Med I think
Just got mine in! I’m so excited to try her out Monday!!!
Ordered mine today, thank you! 🧡👊🏻🇨🇦
You have a freaking phone pouch lol we need to discourage phone use in the tree not in courage it.
Great improvements!
Wow! That 2.0 is a really nice looking saddle.
You showed Joe buckling up but not getting
into the saddle, I would've liked to see that.
Thanks and keep yourselves safe! 😃👍❤🌲

Where can we buy that hoodie Joe is wearing???
Hello. I wonder if the MB 2.0 arness has capability to support a free fall like rock climbing arnesses do. Thanks August from northern Patagonia area.
More so than rock climbing harnesses.
Ok, so when next opportunity of someone coming this way from the states I will arrange things to ger one of your arness. I will go to your website to arrange that. Thanks man , great job.
👍
Hope your back is feeling better.
Suspender info would also be useful.
can i buy this in the UK?

did you hear Jed walters from East side tree works died :(
Yes, and there's a gofundme page for the family.
Looks awesome guys 👌
