Good vid - thanks. To adjust drive tension equally, while upside down, place chalk on wheels/belts, line up equally, creep slowly on safe mode, then adjust tension so chalk marks line up at each revolution. Found Isopropyl at Bunnings today. Keep up the vids.
Good clip Nick. Pulling it all apart to clean is also a good opportunity for new board owners with the 2 in 1 setup to switch from AT to street wheels or vice versa to try something different...
You should probably replace them proactively instead of waiting for something to fail, potentially catastrophically. A new set of bearings is inexpensive compared to your wellbeing.
Thank you for video and for a great product. My 2 year old gtx is still amazing. However when I recently changed setup to at wheels I noticied a problem with one of the motors. When I spin the motors with my hand I can feel there is a lot more resistance in one of them. I can feel a quite distinct resistance every 5 mm of spinning, almost like clock ticking. The same motor also appears to be causing vibrations. It is not an issue of belt tension as this also happens with no wheels or belt on. Ultimately this added resistance in the motor causes that wheel to stop alot faster. Is this anything I could be able to fix or do I need to replace the motor?
It depends! If it is just the joins in the bamboo that's normal. If the ply has begun to crack it may or may not be an issue depending on how bad it is. Reach out to your local Evolve service team with some photos and they will help you out!
Hey evolve here is a good business idea. Because you are all about customization and making the ride your own it would be cool if you could offer different types of controllers (maybe one that can go backwards). This would be great because a lot of people are unhappy with the remote. Maybe you could make a remote with a scroll wheel or something...
@@jasonhushmonkey I like it too but I have never tried a different one. It would be a good option for people that aren't happy with the classic remote.
I have a new board and I've been smacking it off road lately and now it's making a clicking noise when I accelerate it's the same sound as when you brake too hard
This tutorial ended up with me having to buy new gear bearings. The gear bearings in my board are silver and not possible to pull the seals out as I found out and subsequently broke
Do you guys grease the bushings etc when you build/sell them? I had my Stoke for literally 1 day and the rear trucks are squeaking and creaking like a mofo..
@@evolveSkateboards I just contract the store and they will give a new motor controller but its funny I just been used for a week and the controller broken, totally use 5-10 minutes/day just one time charged battery.
My drive gear bearings look a bit different and you can’t open them up. How can I lubricate them? Just pour the speed cream on top and let it sink in ?
Unfortunately I've started running into some very large issues with my board and I am not exactly sure what is happening. Its too bad that Evolve doesnt do a trade in program because I have no idea how to resolve the issue I am having.

Or use a nail brush. That's what I have been doing to my longboards for years now. First take any dirt that has been allowed to dry so you can more or less just dust it off and then with ever so little water on the brush, touch it up. Grip tape cleaner is better, but the other way works for me :)
Like most things these days they designed in Australia and built in China.. the labour costs and parts are much cheaper over there wich saves the company alot of money compared to if they built them here in oz , the quilty control has improved alot over the years wich is a good thing

Just to add! I would of wiped the motor mounts down too and touch up with a black sharpie! 😃
Get the riptide pivot cups when doing this best upgrade I’ve done so far. Stealth mode engaged🤙🏼
Thank yoooouuuuuu finally a service vid!!🤟
Loved the detail how to remove individual bearing dust cover. Never knew that. Ty
Gotta save this video. Thx for the info
Thanks guys you're the best! I was just wondering how to do it this lasts weeks. Done!

Awesome video!!!
My brand new GTR Carbon AT has been dispatched from your warehouse today. Can't wait to have it delivered and start riding!
Welcome to the family, happy riding!
Doing this on regular bases, my 3yr old board still rolls smoothly... awesome video #evolve_Belgium
How regularly you do it?
I didn't touch my original bearings in 5 years and they're still fine 🙂👍
You should probably replace them proactively instead of waiting for something to fail, potentially catastrophically. A new set of bearings is inexpensive compared to your wellbeing.
I watched the whole vid and I don’t even own an evolve lol
I'm waiting on a video on how to replace the motors cause I don't trust myself doing it by myself

Can I use paraffin wax instead of general purpose lubricant for pivot cups / bushings ?
How often do you need to service your board?
One small detail I was wanting to see but no luck. How to get the correct tension on the belt.
Chuck Maddison As he is talking about it there is a little link that pops up in the video. Click that!
Thank you for the tutorial. Isopropyl is unavailable due to the pandemic. Is there an alternative bearing cleaner?
Acetone works great
When the board of gtr2 break on nothing on the road no answer from evolve, no chat no Instagram, no mail....
Well when you type like that I would ignore you too
As a new owner (haven't received yet) how often do we do this full service? Assuming average use, nothing extreme.
Depends I do stuff like this like every 4-5 months
Ty taught me so much
I just cleaned my board haha!!! It looks so niceeeee
Mirek Cymek. Super evolve 👍🥰

How often you should service the board?
When it gets squeaky, belts skips, or anything isn't running smoothly anymore.

For that SERVICE ..whats the name and cost?!?! And how to email request for it?!?!
How often do you perform maintenance?
It depends on how much you ride. When your board starts squeaking and creaking, or you can see a build-up of muck it's time to give it some love.

I would agree, scroll wheel is the way to go. And reverse allows a full stop.
I like the Evolve remote it's unique. It makes evolve evolve.

How do we revive the battery?

@Evolve Skateboards is it possible to bring a board in to a facility for maintenance?
Of course. Check out your local website for details or call the team.

Could I unplug one of the motors if I’m not riding too hard?
No, as it doubles the strain going through that motor, and halves your acceleration and braking ability with no benefit at all.
