What about a clipper before a limiter?
Definitely something that is done and I’ve done before too. Benefit is lowering the amount of work the limiter is doing which is good when loudness is a goal or looking to maintain some of the mixes balance :)
So would you say clippers add harmonics?
They do and depending on how the clipper was designed to work. They can be shifted in tone :)
