    I work in a warehouse freezer. I've had a couple different steel toes, they do good for a few hours, but at around hour 5 it becomes unbearable. I intend on getting composite toe boots here in the beginning of March, but those toe warmers are an absolute lifesaver.

    what about heat holder socks?

    • @QuadCitySafetyInc
      @QuadCitySafetyInc  3 роки тому

      Not super familiar with the brand but looking at the makeup of the sock I would be concerned about them holding moisture. But could definitely be worth a trial to see how they perform. The reviews certainly look overwhelmingly positive. Thanks for watching!

    Man I feel like such an idiot now all winter long I’ve been trying to figure out why my toes are so cold at work. Just realized this is the first pair of steel toes I’ve owned. Gonna try to old boot’s tomorrow and see if that changes things.

    Have you made a video on how to keep your legs warm ?

    • @QuadCitySafetyInc
      @QuadCitySafetyInc  3 роки тому

      We haven't made a video on the topic but there aren't as many solutions out there aimed at legs. I think the best method is to wear a snug fitting base layer with a well insulated and water resistant outer layer. Hopefully that helps and thanks for watching!

    • @QuadCitySafetyInc
      @QuadCitySafetyInc  3 роки тому

      Muck boots definitely will keep you dry so inherently they will keep you warmer. Especially with warm socks. I’d still say the insulated versions will perform much better in the cold. Thanks for watching!

    Appreciate the video 😎 but I’m bout to learn y’all 💪, All hand and feet warmers do is make your hands and feet sweat, sweat = cold. Steel toes are a waste of money, buy a good composite or carbon toe boot. Secret to keeping hands and feet warm is to keep them dry. Aerosol can deodorant, dove , right guard anything that is antiperspirant, spray your naked feet, socks and boots. Your welcome.
    I have sweaty feet, work outdoors in Chicago, I wear a light moisture wicking sock with 400g thinsulate boots, my feet stay warm in 20 below, Gloves can do same thing with deodorant but allow room for error depending on thickness of gloves and what you do for work etc…

    • @QuadCitySafetyInc
      @QuadCitySafetyInc  2 роки тому

      I appreciate the input and all the advice from experience. I think everything you listed is good advice. I do however think that we’re all built a little different and different things work for different folks. Some tasks also require different solutions. For instance hand warmers really help my hands stay warm when temps are frigid. Thanks for watching!

    I remember in boy scout winter outings( a few decades ago) we'd cut a pair of moms panty hose to wear under our socks. Anyone ever do this or know why we did?

    • @QuadCitySafetyInc
      @QuadCitySafetyInc  3 роки тому +1

      I’ve heard of that... I think the idea is similar to some base layer gear using compression. There are better more “modern” solutions out there now, but I think that’s a cheap way that might help better than wearing nothing.

  • @cgordon1955

    WRONG! And absolutely unsafe. Do NOT put Toe Warmers on your feet. They go on the outside of your SOCK. Never put any warmer directly on your skin. Read the directions on the package!

    • @QuadCitySafetyInc
      @QuadCitySafetyInc  2 роки тому +3

      You’re making quite the leap that we’re instructing someone to put toe warmers against their bare feet inside of their socks. They stick to the outside of your socks. Thanks for watching the video and commenting though!
