  • Participating in St. Baldrick's this year has honestly been one of the best experiences of my life. I just wanted to say thank you to everyone for all of your donations, support, and love. I raised over $3,000 myself, and Loyola raised over $40,000! You are all wonderful, wonderful people, and I love you all! This goes out to my cousin, Jeff, my Aunt Kathy, and all of the kids out there - together, we will conquer cancer!

    I am so excited to do this on October 5! I watch videos like this to give me inspiration. In the end, it truly is about these brave kids fighting for their lives every day. I'm so happy an organization like St. Baldrick's exists! You are a beautiful person inside and out! BALD IS BEAUTIFUL!

    Superb show. And very enthusiastic, many people cry during those events. Also interesting way it was done too with the scissors right down, not many take the time to do that after the tails have been cut. Thanks to good people such as your self and your school I hope one day cancer is cured for good!!!

    yeah, it'll take like a year or even two to grow out to where it can be considered "long",but that's really not that bad considering I'll be able to have the memory of doing such an awesome thing for my entire life. TOTALLY worth it. one of the best decisions I've ever made for sure. (: you also get really used to the short hair very quickly. I actually really miss my bald head now - I only have about an inch and a half of hair on my head right now but it's too high maintenance

    that is seriously so awesome you're doing it, though! good luck! you're going to love it - it felt AMAZING afterward! I always had a lifelong dream to get a buzzcut ever since my brothers would get them in the summer when we were little. I could not stop feeling my head afterward. (: one of the best decisions of my life, for sure!

    thank you SO much! so happy to hear about your interest. (: my biggest piece of advice - just DO IT. think of all the reasons you SHOULD do it - raising money, standing in solidarity with cancer patients, being able to rock every hairstyle imaginable as it's growing out... the list goes on forever. then think of the reasons you SHOULDN'T do it - fear. that is literally the only thing I could come up with! the reasons to do it outweigh the reasons to not do it by a LANDSLIDE. and then, once it's

    I think the clippers were just dull lol. It happens but I think it was cool because it give a totally unique outlook. You also ROCK the buzz too, and not many people can say that at all! Also would you ever do it again in the future?
    Thanks for posting :), Looking forward to more videos from you

    for me after being bald and literally not having a worry about what I have to do with my hair! hahaha! I loved touching my bald head. and the public reactions were actually pretty funny. a lot of people either thought I had cancer, or just though I was Britney Spears-crazy, so I got A LOT of attention when I'd go out. but I'd always explain why I shaved it and it was a very good tool for raising awareness. pretty much everyone had a lot of respect for me which was very nice,

    pver and shaved,you find yourself thinking, "WOW. it really IS just hair! I don't know why I was ever afraid!" plus, it grows back SO fast. it's been only three months, and now I have what is considered a short pixie cut. the awkward buzzcut period is really only two or three months (although, I didn't think it was awkward, I LOVED having a buzzcut (: ). but if you think about it in the entire scheme of your life, you really only have short hair for a very short period of time.

    thank you very much! yes, we had some difficulties with our clippers (either the were dull or my hair was just too thick!), so we trimmed it up a bit before shaving it. glad you enjoyed it, thanks for watching!

  • @allielikesyourface
    @allielikesyourface  11 років тому

    thank you so much! yes, my hair is still short. four months later and I'm finally out of the awkward stage and have an Emma Watson-esque short pixie cut, which I am loving. (:

    That is grand, i hope you inspire others to do the same and help that cause. If i was not homeless at the moment I would give you a donation to your st.baldricks link as well. Perhaps I will be able to do that either this month or next :)

    I definitely received a VERY positive response to the silent film I made (the link can be found in the info section under this video). I sent that out along with the link to my fundraising site to friends, family, and also posted it on Facebook. I'm not one to hound people for money, so I found it was a good way to make it a little fun without asking people directly, "want to give me your money???" and it worked - a lot of people said they weren't going to donate until they saw the video!

    Did your hair grow back differently? What was it like? Texture, condition etc?

    I was wondering, what do your university mates think of your new look? is it popular?
