Wow we have a really similar story! I moved to the US when I was 13 from Serbia and in May it will be my 10 year anniversary. And people always ask me how I don’t have an accent and honestly the way you answered the question is literally what I tell people !!! Same thing with forgetting my native language and being better at English 😅
