I completely agree with you about ‘grumpys’. We should be doing everything to encourage youngsters into the hobby. My granddaughter is very young but she will have full access to my train room (ok, the garage) without any of that “oh no, you can’t play with that, it’s expensive” crap talk. I will have breakages but, that’s life. Encourage, encourage, encourage!
Nice comment, thank you. I've started taking my micro dioramas to exhibitions especially to let folks 'touch' and get a hands on experience where normally the rules are for 'Please don't touch.' All the best 👍😁🌍🚂

Hi Jules. Just for information. The opportunity to drive a train for the visitors was first introduced on Making Tracks 2 last year. It's been made possible by the use of the Z21 control system, that uses tablets on a WiFi network to control the trains. No trailing wires to trip over, as was the case with Making Tracks 1! 😮 That said, this year the visitor driving experience has been really well organised, and busy. Usually over 100 tickets have been issued each day. 🙂 🧙🏻🙋🏼♀️

Yes, as Pete always says, getting people interested in a main part of the reason the layouts exist. 🙂 As you probably know, after the Great Electric Train Show in October, there is going to be another outing for Milton Keynes Central at Cheshire Outdoors, Blakemere Village, Sandiway (CW8 2EB) from December 16 to January 7 (Not December 25, Christmas Day) 🧙🏻🙋🏼♀️
Letting young ones control the trains and walk round is a wonderful idea. What a great thing to give them a certificate as well 😊
