The tropical sea that surrounds Koh Tao has an abundance of Marine Life with incredible marine diversity. Koh Tao is a small island located in the Gulf of Thailand off the Eastern shore of the Thai mainland. Koh Tao is less developed than its bigger neighbours Koh Phangan and Koh Samui but still has plenty to offer.
Koh Tao actually means Turtle Island and many years ago it was truly a popular feeding and nesting ground for sea turtles. Unfortunately due to the effects of commercial fishing in Thailand and devastation of the natural environment this is no longer possible.
The turtle is now becoming a rare site in the Gulf of Thailand, so we are extremely privileged to still regularly get visits from these beautiful graceful creatures.
The clear, warm waters of Koh Tao offer the visitor a stunning diversity of marine life and an abundance of tropical fish species.
