you know that youve gone as far down the detailing rabbit hole as possible when your watching a video of someone talking about trigger spray bottles on a Saturday morning
Some great points made Jon & that just goes to show just how little these manufacturers actually look at the user experience. My biggest gripe and anyone who watches my channel will tell you is the crap spray heads on some brands. To the point where I will not buy a good product because the spray head is so poor. I just don't understand why a product manufacturer puts a lot of money and effort into a product and then throws a cheap rubbish spray head on the bottle. I recently condemned the spray head on a bottle from GBDetailing and as you can imagine got lots of grief for it but GBDetailing actually came back to me and agreed and said they were in the process of changing the heads. Lots of people said don't moan just put a different spray head on the bottle but I refuse to pay good money for a product and then have to pay again for a spray head. As you identified GT provide good spray heads and you can but the product with or with out to save you money. A really good video on a very worthwhile subject close to my heart but then I am a sad git anyway. stay safe
yer theres those tiny little triggers with low output. the reason they are used is because they are very very cheap. typically a decent trigger is about 50p-100p if you buy a lot. Some are more expensive. I can understand the little hobbit triggers on the tiny bottles or samples or products which require low output, but when they are used on detail sprays or fallout removers or wheel cleaners when you want the through-put, well its hard to argue a case for excellence (which is wheat detailing is supposed to be about). the only argument is a hobbit trigger is being used for cost saving. In which case the product needs to be cheap so we get the cost saving. If its a premium product and premium price tag but has hobbit trigger, generally I agree I am less likely to buy it because I see it more a case of a brand trying to increase margin at the expensive of user experience. To be fair Ive seen brands move away from the hobbit triggers which is great and its the sort of things reviews should pick up on. lots were using them 3-4 years back.
Autosmart bottles with their grey chemical resistant triggers work well I find. The best bottle combination I've found is actually the Dettol kitchen cleaner ones, so I use them. TARDIS seems to eat every single trigger out there, even of it's chemical resistant, so I just use these for that now.
Glad someone are like me a nerd on triggers and bottles. I have 10 of the Canyon jumbo models and hate the sharp fins. And they require quite lot of liquid in the bottle to suck it up. I have 2 of Canyon Arata and they have good ergonomics and are great reliable. Check those out! Then there is CANYON CHS-3ANS coated! Like the standard one with a case over it. But the detail on square bottles is just genius for storage! Haven't thought on that. This is gonna be my new mission also!

Hello sir, I see pre mixed dilution in what I believe are 5 liter containers with blue caps. I have been trying to purchase them but I can't find them, Can you tell me the bran and if they are available in the US ? If possible where to purchase them.
Sounds like you need a 3D printer or a rapid prototyping lab. Great insight, this stuff would be gold to the innovation department of any pump sprayer manufacturer - send it on to them, you never know you may get your own signature model like a guitar. Can't help thinking as I was listening, would a pressurised sprayer not meet many of your requirements? Mark
canyon didnt even reply to the feedback mark. I can guess what they would think though. they already have ranges of ergonomic triggers with the casing around them. the CHS 3a and 5a are in their industrial range which have better through put. But they seem to ditch the casing and the ergonomics on the industrial range. the thing is they sell millions of these to millions of firms for different applications. the Detailing market of guys like me looking for an elite solution is tiny. Ive literally ordered about 5 other options since these videos they all have a compramise. But I believe theres a market for a square based Obelisk type version of the IK sprayer bottle with the ergonomics of the opus compression and the flask grip type bilt hamber use. The final thing is the trigger. Ive searched high and low I want the through put of the CHS5a trigger (and single action) but the ergonomics of the vela or the opus compression. Ive tried the pressol and the powerspray but the double trigger looses control. I guess its really easy for me to waffle about what should be the best but designing it and taking it to market is a different ball game. I would probably loose a lot of money I could sell 500-1000 maybe but I would need to have 10,000 made just for starters. The only companies I know which make the "cladded" HDPE are gozpier and kwazar as well and they might not want to create rival products to their own. I think this idea was a dead duck before it started. But I do have some more to come on this.
I use a pump sprayer for APC but things like glass cleaner, detail spray, decalar, interior APC etc etc.. 90% of applications I want a trigger sprayer for control over throughput.
You can get the mercury without the 360 metall hose thing inside. Also in different colors so it's easy to separate different products. I have a blue, green, yellow and dark blue(high alkaline tolerant) super happy with them.

I had to pause at "it has a longer shaft, so you can get your hand around it". to chuckle. Sorry, call me immature but I love a good innuendo :-)) I bought a couple of hand sprayers from my local gardening centre, for spraying chemicals on the plants, and found they were as good as anything I could get from a car product distributer, for about half the price.
Got a question to ask & who better to ask then you. I bought geyon wet coat after watching you review it & was wondering if I use that is there eny point useing a detailer or bsd
Vela triggers from Italy are my favourite. So much so I brought a box of 100 incase I could never get them again. Comfy in the hand and last a real long time. As for bottles the ergo ones are ugly but stack and feel good in hand.
Thank you Jon for such a funny yet very informative video about a topic that isn't covered very much. I know YumCars do those black Valor triggers but their dilution bottles are only half-litre ones. Very good quality and price, though, with a next-day delivery service as well. Also, ValetPro do Bilt Hamber Laboratories-style one litre dilution bottles, I'm not sure if the BHL Opus heads fit though or not. But the Cannon ones do fit and the bottles are great value. And Slims Detailing offer Chemical Guys dilution bottles in 3 or 5 packs with the grey Tolco heads that are worth a look. Generally, whenever I run out of a Bilt Hamber Laboratories product that comes in a one litre spray bottle (like Auto Wheels and Korrosol) then I like to remove the label, thoroughly wash out the bottle and trigger and keep hold of it for something else in future, as a spare dilution bottle.
Anyone know if the Kwazar spray bottles are suitable for using an IPA panel wipe? I know they’re chemical resistant but I’ve seen somewhere that alcohol can cause an issue in these?
Interesting to see the hype when the IK Sprayer came out at first and now we're seeing some of its fundamental flaws. Wonder if the designers ever used this bottle? Phil at Auto Fanatic posted a similar review video earlier on in the week. Great video, Jon. I'm glad I didn't spend the money on these!
The problem with the IK is that they're overpriced for using a cheap canyon sprayer plus I find even though the bottle is durable it's too heavy and bulky. I'd rather go pressol or empty pressol 750ml bottles and screw on a cheap canyon sprayer
dont get me wrong though. I want something like the IK sprayer and I think 8.95 is ok. I will buy it. But that trigger is poor. Ive just watched the auto fantatic and I agree. You cant use it, it simply hurts your hand too much. So much effort went into the flask design its a shame the trigger is bad. I want a trigger with a proper ergonomic tail. I think the Vela will actually be the front runner and it will look decent on it as well. I have more bottles coming in.
@@forensicunplugged4295 yes your right John...I find them triggers excellent. Another good reason for me buying bottles of Dry and Shine - can reuse the bottles for quick detailers
I bought an IK spray bottle to try out, and have seen others complaining about the fin on the back digging into their hands. I've not found it to be an issue though so going to buy some more. I must just have tough skin 😂
Matt with Obsessed Garage has also been struggling with this for years! I’ve ordered about 20 or so of the Pressol bottles from him so far and have been pretty pleased with them, but they are by no means perfect.
@@forensicunplugged4295 Looking forward to your findings as well. Never knew finding a spray bottle / trigger that was “just right” would be so difficult! Thank you for your efforts!
My 3 pressol bottles started leaking from just using gyeon prep. Drove me nuts spending that much and then being told it is what it is no luck getting new tips or anything.
Try wilco autosave. I got a dual action sprayer (round) and was ok for the money. Plus Poorboy's glass gleaner. Bilt hamber is a lovely square bottle sprayer. You need to make a nylon resin cast of your hand and the trigger. Good old days of Maplin. They used to sell nylon casting pellet to make castings. Food for thoughts
Its interesting and stalling is a bit of a problem but Im not sure I want the bottle swinging around like that, the weighted draw nozzle is perhaps a more pragmatic fix to the stalling due to the liquid level changing it gives you "enough" tolerance". dont know though, you sort of can only guess untill you try them properly maybe its really good.
@@forensicunplugged4295 yer i’d give some of their products a try but too tight to stomach the delivery cost ! If you ever do your USA trip bring some back 👍 don’t worry FDC is still my no.1 channel 😂
I’ve been looking at ammos products to see if they’re up to the standard they say that they are. Could not do the import costs tho 🤢 some of the things defo look interesting
Different experience with theml. They were good on some bottle (grey one) and were trash on some product (black ones). They were actually leaking right from the beginning and missing spray half the time.
My favourite triggers are the ones from the Turtlewax Hybrid Wash & Wax (yellow waterless wash). I use the product moslty as a sort of wheel QD, for a wipe over between washes. It's so cheap, I can use liberally and not worry. Anyhow the added benefit is the bottles and triggers in particular are exceptional. I keep my empties to reuse with other products. The value for money between the product and decent bottle is hard to beat.
Are the Kwazar’s fine to use with fallout removers? Didn’t know if it affected that metal weight, was planning to get a few, one for Surfex, Korrosol and then maybe a clay lube.
Have you tried the grey tolco sprayer heads? Loads of companies sell them for a few quid each and theyre pretty comfortable 👍 also the plastic bottle company sell all kinds of bottles and triggers might be worth a look
The Chemical Guys 32oz sprayers are pretty good have you tried them? You should definitely design your own! I sometimes like to hook the trigger into my jean pocket so the bottle hangs off me to free up both hands saves me constantly picking it up off of the floor, anyway a long trigger or some sort of hook would be a good feature.
From the only one i know who is actually in business with a manufacturer about bottle and trigger (Obsessed garage and Pressol), cost are huge just to design the sprayer and you need big quantity for it to be worth it. And then you end up with a 15-20$ bottle and sprayer that are still failing and not perfect. It's a tough market that not many can get into. And from the pov of detailing brands, customer are not ready to pay the price for a good trigger/bottle combo that comes with the product. You will end up killing your margin and won't be competitive with similar product... I agree with you on the topic of style of trigger. I want some single spray for quick detailer/wax with good control. And some sprayer with big output like a double pump sprayer for wheel cleaner, apc, iron remover, clay lub... I also wanted at some point a sprayer that can foam, making it stick more to the rim for example. The ones i found are decent, but can't replicate the result i had with sonax wheel cleaner, or bh autowheel?
Obsessed lied about there being different iterations. Contacted pressol directly and they said there were no different models or updates to their bottles. Obsessed garage said pressol made him version 1.2 or 1.3. Which is a lie
@@xMattMoron i would guess it's just some updated design of the initial sprayer, minor tweaking. For example the tips were breaking, they probably had to reinforce the threads.
I’m sure as one of Bilt Hambers biggest brand ambassadors on the You Tubes, if you asked them who manufactures there bottle? they would be more than happy to point you in the right direction. Just a thought. Keep up the good work Jon.
John, I'm surprised there's no mention of marolex? After using all of them in your video I decided to give marolex mini white sprayer a try. A month later I ended up buying a wholesale bulk from an awesome Polish supplier for what worked out just over a couple of quid each (including postage). The spray output puts the others to shame I'm afraid, it's also very comfy full and incredibly robust .. Luckily this was just before lockdown and the EU price increase. Now my whole kit are all neat in the same bottles. Although I still have a few autosmart bottles hanging about. They're also very good from my local rep
marolex use the Vela triggers I show in this video and then the flasks are sort of Ok. these are decent but not quite sexy enough. but yer these are good for the money. Im looking for perfect. I want a higher through put. So like the through put of the canyon 2.5, with the feel of the opus compression, not dual action, in a package that looks as good as the IK sprayer, but with a squared base so its good to store. I dont think what Im looking for exists as a trigger or a flask. Its just not there. Designing and making it would be a major undertaking for something so small scale. but Im convinced if I did it, it would be good and lots would want it. easy to say this though.
@@forensicunplugged4295 before I read the said line, I was thinking that you're trying to find something that doesn't exist, just like a decent cordless vacuum!! You should start making your own that way won't have to waste money on other bottles, which to most people is bonkers but a good bottle is very important. And while you're at it make a decent affordable air freshener.
I've gone through the entire range of triggers and tbh they always end up the same... broken. I usually end up on the in2detail ones as they're a decent balance of quality to price

Have you tried Pressol? Not sure who distributes them in UK. @obsessedgarage is the exclusive distributor for the states. They are a German company I believe. 750ml bottles are my new favorite.
Now going to have a look under the sink to see what products the wife uses around the house, never heard her complain about triggers though. There must be something that's being used that isn't car related that can be transferred onto a decent bottle, maybe a trip to the supermarket is on the cards.
Pressol will be the best option I think. The clear bottles look great and 750ml to me is the perfect size so it's a bit lighter and nicer to use. If Jon doesn't want double pump trigger he can just screw on a canyon trigger (the one the IK uses)
they hold 1000ml which is good. Theres a good case to say these are the most comfortable on the market and the through put is decent. stream only though.
yer I want to try the pressol option out but I think I want single action trigger for control with high rate. I want like the canyon chs 5a but with nice ergonomic head which does not hurt the hand.

Watching this on the couch while the missus is reading next to me. She shakes her head while saying men are weird. Me "don't even start" 😁
Almost the exact same however my wife isn't as subtle....and I just get told "you watch some shit" all while she watches reality TV 🤯
@@scottie3083 very true 😂 they just don't understand the importance of trigger sprayers. Its a very serious subject.
@@tonyosullivan2382 hence why I clean her car how Jon cleans his golf 🤣... They definitely don't understand
@@scottie3083 😂😂
Try wilco autosave. I got a dual action sprayer (round) and was ok for the money. Plus Poorboy's glass gleaner.
Bilt hamber is a lovely square bottle sprayer.
You need to make a nylon resin cast of your hand and the trigger.
Good old days of Maplin. They used to sell nylon casting pellet to make castings. Food for thoughts
Valet Pro has a nice and cheap sprayer bottle. Good trigger and it reminds of the Bilt Hamber bottle.
Ammo has bought out his swivel bottles. Interesting design. I’d love to see a review
Love the AMMO channel - there’s no UK distributor if i’m right ?
@@01123581321341 correct.
The problem with the Kwazar is when it is heavy with liquid the head the sprayer eventually detaches from the rest of the bottle
Hi Jon, same question, where did you get the 5ltr liquid containers on shelf they look great and very practical. Regards Andy.
coming soon mate you cant get them in the UK right now. Im seeing if imran can source.
I like the Tolco sprayer heads. cheap and decent quality
This
Different experience with theml. They were good on some bottle (grey one) and were trash on some product (black ones). They were actually leaking right from the beginning and missing spray half the time.
@@TerrificFlow I must have been lucky with the ones I got
@@benhook1850 yeah i agree, it seems quality differs from one batch to another. Some fail, some actually hold up for years...
The value for money between the product and decent bottle is hard to beat.
opus compression I think you mean. yes these are really good. they have the tiny little plastic triangle on top of them righ.
@@forensicunplugged4295 correct, the ones with the triangle. The same trigger is on the TW Dry & Shine and also the Sealant Hydrophobic Wax.
Hello Jon,
Are the black canyon triggers as good as the genuine ik triggers?
Thanks Jamie
Are the Kwazar’s fine to use with fallout removers? Didn’t know if it affected that metal weight, was planning to get a few, one for Surfex, Korrosol and then maybe a clay lube.
i think so yes. they have a solvent version as well i think. IVe been using my kwazar with fallout for a year or so.
Have you tried the grey tolco sprayer heads? Loads of companies sell them for a few quid each and theyre pretty comfortable 👍 also the plastic bottle company sell all kinds of bottles and triggers might be worth a look
yes decent but dribble is a problem.
You should try the Sonax foam sprayer.. mate!! You would like it!!
Where do you get the Containers on your shelf
What brand is your shelf dispenser containers greetings M from Belgium
You should try the Auto Finesse Pro mixing bottle, great product!
Jon have you considered printing a label or something similar of a scale & stick it the side of the Bilt Hamber bottle?
can do this but I want higher bling level :) I know its sad but I want top draw bling factor.
The zep sprayers are the best in my opinion.
A good label system is needed also
Easier and cheaper to produce round bottles. They'll be blow formed or whatever the process is called, similar to pop bottles I imagine
Have a look at the bottles that AMMO guy has designed. Could make an interesting video if nothing else.
Grey Tolco triggers on "handi hold" bottles for me.
Angelwax (and the small Nanolex bottles) probably has the worst trigger imo 😐
I’m sure as one of Bilt Hambers biggest brand ambassadors on the You Tubes, if you asked them who manufactures there bottle? they would be more than happy to point you in the right direction. Just a thought. Keep up the good work Jon.
Chs-5a trigger.......where can I find it?
slims detailing (search for koch triggers)
@@forensicunplugged4295 "Martin Cox Chemical Resistant Trigger Head" what about that one?
Why don’t you project and develop and sell your own ultimate spray bottle?
Isnt it time for a trigger spray uodate :)
I've gone through the entire range of triggers and tbh they always end up the same... broken. I usually end up on the in2detail ones as they're a decent balance of quality to price
Why not get small hand pump sprayers? Can be cheaper, better on the wrist, better control and pressure.
they good for high volume but not control.
@@forensicunplugged4295 the kwazar mercury is my fav. What annoys me is the sheer size. I tend to hoard the carpro triggers and use them with existing bottles.
What did you use as your LSP on the BMW Jon? It looks phenomenal.
I follow your channel closely but didn't see what product you used.
its running Gyeon Wax and Gyeon Ceramic Detailing.
@@forensicunplugged4295 Thanks for the swift reply Jon.

@@forensicunplugged4295 Gyeon Q2 Wax?

@@kinnonmcallister very soon mate will be available within a week
Have you tried Pressol? Not sure who distributes them in UK. @obsessedgarage is the exclusive distributor for the states. They are a German company I believe. 750ml bottles are my new favorite.
If your asking about the containers, they are called (jerry can with tap) you can thank me later
I watched bids for 9 hours over 4 nights before I decided which foam to buy
Now going to have a look under the sink to see what products the wife uses around the house, never heard her complain about triggers though.
There must be something that's being used that isn't car related that can be transferred onto a decent bottle, maybe a trip to the supermarket is on the cards.
You want the best of the best of the best SIR!!!!
You should design one yourself, brand and manufacture it. No kidding. I will buy it.
Have had a look at the Pressol sprayers?
Im looking yer these are gonna be great but I may not want the dual action trigger.
Pressol will be the best option I think. The clear bottles look great and 750ml to me is the perfect size so it's a bit lighter and nicer to use. If Jon doesn't want double pump trigger he can just screw on a canyon trigger (the one the IK uses)
Pressol sucks
Get some high density foam and fill in the hole at the back end of the bigger ik sprayer and you can get any color foam to suit your needs 🤦♂️🤷♂️
Valetpro bottles are square shaped and the triggers good
they look like canyon triggers bad ergonomics. flask looks good though but basic.
Love the channel. Little too much camera motion though.
Perhaps would benefit from a bit wider angle lens too.
its a go pro mate. its just great for convience but yer looks a bit potatoe cam-esque
Jon you should bring your out your own product line, I for one would buy from you. You should invent a trigger
Forensic Detailing 1900:1 shampoo :)
Delta clean bottles on amazon looks a good fit in the hand, only 500ml tho
John Griots sprayers makes/come with one of the best triggers on the market- at least compared to what I’ve tried so far!
yes pretty good they are like opus compression triggers I think. and nice PET bottles.
Carpro or Koch Chemie bottles and triggers work for me 👍
Cool vid John why don't you talk to bh about doing a premium sprayer?
Should look at ammo
I just keep my old BH trigger spray and bottles, why use anything else. They don't hold loads, which helps, but yes, needs filling more often.
they hold 1000ml which is good. Theres a good case to say these are the most comfortable on the market and the through put is decent. stream only though.
Have you tried contacting ibottles ??
I can see from their inventory they are not doing the thick set HDPE with like the black "cladding" pieces like Goziper and Kwazar.
@@forensicunplugged4295 maybe worth dropping a message there a good company to deal with , I used them back in my marine tank keeping days 👍🏻
I think Chris Dunsmore (below) has a point - but as they say "Whatever floats your boat"
Hey john call matt from obssed garage he is on a mission to find perfect sprayer
yer I want to try the pressol option out but I think I want single action trigger for control with high rate. I want like the canyon chs 5a but with nice ergonomic head which does not hurt the hand.
Big blaster at Elite Car Care
they use the 3.5 ml head version of the tolco big blaster theres a 4.0 ml version you can get on ebay which Ive ordered. same trigger but higherthrough put. insane throughput actually I have high hopes for this one.
@@forensicunplugged4295 where did you find those John? Got a link or search term? Mine have just come from Elite for use with Wheel cleaners and degreasers, fed up of pumping lol
Form over function or function over form 😉
Basically you need John Browning to design a trigger sprayer in .45 cal
I religiously follow you John

Boom! Like this, like that! 😃
The thing I took away from this video - Dad needs to start karate chopping wood blocks to strengthen his hands
