- Peer review is essential to the quality of scientific publications. Yet, many reviewers do not receive formal training or education on the conduct of peer review and the peer review process. The purpose of this session is to learn about the peer review process and strategies to write effective peer reviews. Important topics to be addressed during this session include: 1) the art of offering constructive criticism while conducting an objective evaluation; 2) tips and strategies for writing effective reviews; 3) common pitfalls in peer review; 4) the use of reporting guidelines to inform and structure evaluation of quantitative and qualitative research manuscripts; and 5) ethical obligations towards the author, journal and your profession. Whether you're new to peer reviewing or looking to enhance your skills, this session will offer valuable insights and practical advice.
