Who underrates them? There record at world cups proves they don't perform at the highest level and there 6 nations record isn't great it's only in the last 10 to 15 years Ireland have been competitive before that they didn't win the tournament for 60 years so how have they been underrated historically?@@SMacCuUladh

As an Irish supporter, I am delighted the SA teams joined the pro-12 to create the URC. It has given Irish teams the opportunity to learn how to play against bigger players and means their teams do not dominate the URC like they did the Pro-12. With IRE and FRA possibly remaining as a top 2 in the 6N, adding SA would add a rugby challenge that is lacking atm. But I expect ENG will come back as a contender. I just wish they would play more expansive rugby. I can see why joining 6N appeals to SA. It would mean playing two top teams every year and no jet lag from crossing time zones. Perhaps the solution would be for the top two in 6N to play the top two in the RC as part of what is now the NH autumn series. ATM this would be SA, NZ, IRE and FRA. But in a year or two it could involve ENG and possibly WAl, SCO, ARG or AUS.
