Mat, must say how much I enjoy and appreciate your channel. Wonderful adventures, great visuals, no annoying music ... just real storytelling from a hike/bike perspective
Loving the European adventure, beautiful part of the world. I'm also finding the opening "Good Morning's" on your videos reassuring! Its also nice to watch a video with a nice British sense of humour and no techno music background.
I bet it is. I don't know anything about sailing but it always strikes me as being crazy difficult. I bet it's hugely rewarding. I hope to give it a try one day. Cheers 👍
Lovely video of your adventures. Great positive attitude, I like it😊 Bet Mr Worm was extremely grateful for your good deed❤ I am loving the human free shops, just how I like them😂
Your adventures in meal preparation and overall approach to this trip remind me of Mr. Bean and some of his adventures. Keep up the great work. cheers from colorful Colorado.
The maps help the videos. Not that they needed it. Thanks for the history mentions. My Dad didn't go to Capbreton, he went to Omaha Beach in Normandy instead, I don't think he needed a passport either. Cheers and thanks.
They give the videos a professional look. I think it takes Ross ages to do so he'll be glad to see this comment. I have immense respect for your Dad. Cheers 👍👍👍
Great vid Mat! Hendaye is also the start of Camino del Norte Pilgrimage, which you should do some day. You could ride it or hike it. It's stunning. We walked it in May 2022 all the way to Santiago.
Hi Mat. Good cheeses for melting are ones with a high milk fat content, such as Gouda and Mozzarella. Great drone footage of the Capbreton blockhouses with a lovely cloud formation at the end. Did you catch up with the UA-camr that was ahead of you, the one with the stick? That last part of the day that you like is the golden hour, I like it for photography especially. Beautiful colours. Hendaye is the start of the GR10 that I never finished (at Banyuls on the Mediterranean coast), probably the toughest two weeks of backpacking that I've ever done. Great video Mat, looking forward to the next installment 👍
Hi Tony. I'll try those cheeses next time. The Camembert tasted good but wasn't quite right. I didn't catch up with the other UA-camr 🤣. I heard he was astonishingly handsome though. I need to look at all these official European routes. I'd like to do a proper multi day bikepacking trip down there. Cheers
@@matryderadventures Hi Mat. Yes, Camembert is high in saturated fat instead of milk fat. Ah, that's a pity, that sand poetry showed signs of artistic eloquence. Probably written by a lonely tortured soul, trapped by internal torment arising from past angst. That, or he was just thick skinned. Yeah, I've been thinking about doing something like a Camino, something with meaning and history. There's also the EV circular route I have planned but Brexit has reduced visiting hours to 90 days, so I'll have to redo that route. Cheers.
Hi. The mushrooms were surprisingly good. I didn't have a plan for this one. I decided where to go day by day and Ross tended to find interesting routes for me to cycle/hike. It worked well as the campervan infrastructure in Europe is excellent.
It's called X-Pac VX21. Here's a link to the video where I make it. It's a very simple design. Cheers 👍 ua-cam.com/video/agqJQ5y-hcI/v-deo.htmlsi=kLdUP2s4ImQBwRKA
I've been watching your videos in Paris. not much into them as was the GDMBR that I've watched many many times over. looking foward to your Trans Am ride later this summer. hopefully get a chance to meet the legend him self some where in Oregon. how do i get in on this drawing for the frame bag?? thanks John Foraker
Hi John I think the GDMBR series had that whole challenge aspect to it which this series doesn't. I think the TransAm will be similar. I'm definitely up for meeting up if things work out. Cheers 👍
Hi Mat, can you share how you record your route progress on Google Maps please. the one that appears in the top right corner. Searched everywhere. Thanks.
Thanks. That region of France was particularly nice. I loved it all. I wish I was sponsored by Under Armour. I hate trying clothes on so when I find something that fits I stick with it. Maybe it's time for a change?? Cheers 👍
I've had a lot of jobs, selling computers, delivery driver, landscaping, picture framer and more. At the moment I work as a support worker for people with learning disabilities.

The very weary, not yet fully awake ' Good Mornings'. I'm glad you find them reassuring. I'm with you, I can't stand music on UA-cam. Good evening!!.
Another enjoyable adventure, thanks again for taking us along! 👏🏻🤍🌟🚴🏻♀️
Glad you liked it. Thanks again for watching. Cheers 👍👍
A bit of a coincidence, watching your video while your in the Bay of Biscay and I’ve just sail across it !!! It’s A lot smoother by bike 😁

Is nice to see your adventures in Europe!
That's nice to hear. Thanks for watching 👍
Very cool video, as always! The beauty of the awesome scenery is so well captured. Gourmet meal prep was awesome. Take care
Thanks. The mushrooms were definitely simple but very tasty. I'm determined to improve my usual shocking diet. Glad you liked this one. Cheers 👍
Hi Mat another fantastic episode I'm really loving this format so many cool and historic places i am very envious. See you on the next one 👍
Thanks Pat. I'm glad you are enjoying the van tour. I loved it and want to do more. Cheers 👍

Spent a fair bit of time on that coastline between Bordoux and San Sebastian. 👍
I can see why. It's a beautiful area.
My spelling is so bad 😂🧐🤔😳
Love your channel. It is fun to watch. Looking forward to your next bikepacking trip!
Thanks 👍👍
21:51 Haha. Hilarious. This is my exact style of cycling! 🤣
I didn't get very far 🤣🤣 thanks for watching 👍
Great vid Mat!

It's on my list. I hadn't thought about riding it. I think that would be a great trip. Cheers 👍
I enjoyed the cooking thing.
That's good to hear. I might do a bit more in the future. Cheers 👍
Now I want to make mushrooms with pate and cheese...yum. Started my Raid Pyrenees route in Hendaye!
They were surprisingly good. I'd use a different cheese next time. The camembert didn't melt properly. Cheers 👍

Cooking with Mat Ryder. I like it!
I'd like to do a bit more. Maybe I'll get a bit more creative. Cheers 👍
Thoroughly enjoyed this video. What a beautiful ride. I am covetous of your half frame bag. If I may ask, what material did you make it out of?

Also, I've entered you in the draw. Good luck 🤞
I really want some mushrooms now. That beach is awesome. Were you tempted to camp there?
I was tempted. I thought I'd do more camp outs but love it in the van. Those mushrooms were good Bro.

Great video, love the SW France used to work in a place called Soustons near to where you were. Other thing, are you sponsored by Under Armour?
Thanks. That region of France was particularly nice. I loved it all. I wish I was sponsored by Under Armour. I hate trying clothes on so when I find something that fits I stick with it. Maybe it's time for a change?? Cheers 👍
Chuck the Welsh flag up, they love the Welsh in this region 🏴
Do they? I mean, who doesn't 🤣. I'm curious to know why.
What’s your background if you don’t mind me asking?
Maybe sometime do a bio video!

@@matryderadventures cheers!
Why couldn't you clear the skies 😊
🤣🤣 I'll work on it.
