I love this car! It is absolutely insane how people give so much importance to the logo and they don't see they are offering you a SUV with similar performance of a MACAN S but for almost half the price... THIS CAR IS INSANE AND I WANT IT!
Born is full of problems, just look at the forums, the road noise is terrible, my wife has it, she loves it, I think it’s got some good points but otherwise crap.

Traded in my 2017 Audi A6 Avant Quattro for Cupra Ateca ... can't compare some of dash materials but otherwise I love it. No crazy priced additional "tech packs" to buy ... it's pretty much fully loaded even at the standard level.... comfy seats, good infotainment system, LED lights, 360 camera, wireless charging and android auto works a treat and even the standard audio is good. I struggled to find anything similar other than the hugely more expensive Porsche Macan or SQ5. This is a practical car and one that you really look forward to "driving" 👍
It's a fantastic car for the money. I searched for months and didn't even know this brand existed in Australia and signed the contract after one 20 minute test drive ( I had held one online the night before with 1000 deposit, explained further down). I had driven SQ2, Tiguan, T Roc, M35i X2 and my mum's RSQ3 (2017 model) at that point. I then drove non performance SUV like CX5, Forester, etc. Nothing has the overall value to performance and included luxuries as the Ateca. Yes, I wanted a performance small to mid SUV. I prefer lower cars but I have a back issue and it's much easier for me to get in and out of a raised car. If I didn't have the back issue I'd be buying an 2018 RS3 I saw with 20,000KM on the clock for the same price. Anyway, I don't know what sorcery they have done, but Cupra have made this SUV handle like a go kart. It feels a lot like the Porsche Boxster my father used to have around 20 years ago. I am not joking. Yet it is very compliant over bumps, even in Cupra mode. I am talking about steering feel by the way, turn in, etc - of course it can not oversteer like the Boxster can as that is a RWD car and this is a front biased AWD. But what I mean is that it feels so connected whereas the Audi steering felt heavy just for the sake of being heavy, and dead in comparison, and the BMW had a terrible ride. Cupra have NAILED the steering and the car truly inspires confidence. The DSG is smooth, VW have refined it well over the last 2 decades, and the launch control is great. Yes there are some cuts, like no gas struts on bonnet, and more hard plastic on doors than say Audi for example, but the car is such a complete package for the price. To give another example. A 140 kw Karoq starts 15K cheaper but has no leather option and by the time you add the things the Ateca has standard the Karoq is only 2 or 3 thousand less, yet is 140KW vs 221 on the Ateca, and only fabric seats. A WRX Sportwagon top of the range is 63.5K here, just 2 thousand less, but has a crappy CVT auto and is WAY slower, despite similar output figures. And fake suede seats. YUK! So what European hot hatch style SUV exists that is better value than the Ateca, with a 5 second 0-100 time? Further more this 2 litre VW engine is infinitely tune-able, and I will be having a lot of fun with that too down the road. I am 6ft 4 and I fit so comfortable also, where as in the Asian cars my legs sit to the side of the wheel, rather than under them like in the Ateca. The front sports seats are fantastic. Visibility is very good overall, the tech is easy to understand and even the standard, non Akrapovik exhaust sounds terrific. It pops and crackles and farts on the gear changes and sounds delightful. It's been a long time since I just ordered a car and didn't have to tick any options, just as it is. No upgraded sound system needed, no leather or heated seats optional, it's all there. They must be doing something right, as these are selling so fast in Australia it's more or less *INSANE*. When I looked exactly a week back there were over 100 cars available for delivery within 4 weeks, with another 100 or so with longer delivery. Three days later there were 11 cars left, and all for over 3 month delivery. I was very lucky that I looked again and secured the car online before the test drive the next day, as Cupra are so easy to work with there is no penalty for cancellation either. The next morning there wasn't a single car left with 4 week delivery. Not one. The Tiguan R is slightly bigger, has 14 more KW, the rear torque differential, and that's about it. And they are like 90 thousand dollars drive away. And not one tactical button anywhere. No wonder the Ateca is selling like hot cakes. The T-Roc R is a thousand or so more expensive but has all that new touch tech which is even worse than Tiguan and no tactile buttons, and is more than half a foot shorter than the Ateca. Audi SQ2 is tiny and has less features (no rear vent or armrest, no adaptive dampers, otherwise more or less identical in features) but more posh fit and finish but is almost 80 thousand drive away. Now of course if you don't care about ultimate performance, for pure comfort and value, something like the new hybrid x trail for a couple thousand less dollars and much more plush interior is a great buy. But if you want a true hot hatch, the Ateca is the hottest thing currently around. Focus RS, manual only. I am 50 I am happy with paddles I don't need a clutch anymore. Used to love them but those days are over. Focus St, front wheel drive. Kona, SO cheap inside, premium N is like 60 grand and no leather and other things missing, and SLOWER AND FRONT WHEEL DRIVE! Trust me I checked them all. Ateca rocks! I could give examples for days why I chose it over all the others, but my advice is to just DRIVE one and you will understand.
You should title this "the cupra hating video". If you had educated yourself on cars instead of putting them at 200 kph, you wouldve known cupra is the same as abarth or amg, a sporty brand. I do like the logo of cupra, which translates to cooper, but what first meant is "cup-racing". Nobody likes the toyota logo and people still buy them, its not about the logo, but whats inside, and a 300 hp suv is a monster
It is not the same as AMG or Abarth, it is more like Seat is to Toyota, like Cupra is to Lexus. In which case Cupra should have the engine upgrade as well as the interior upgrade. Now in Seat Cupra guise it might have been like AMG, but they branded a whole new company so it no longer applies, unless Mercedes makes a car called AMG Klasse with a different logo like Brabus.

Frankly speaking the package as a whole is really well done. Really do not understand your struggling with the badge...who cares. Performance, dimensions, handling everything fits. Looks like you are unwilling to admit it and thinks you are professional and independent by using ...yes but...l never saw a car getting so many positive feedback as the Cupra Ateca did. For a NL on top it should be relevant to see a towing capacity of 2,1 tons for bringing your own cheese and food when you go on holidays
The Cupra logo is the DRL of the entire Seat family starting from the Leon MK3. The DRL has been taken and rotated and merged. As the DRL is the most identifiable thing about the Leon in the first place, followed by the Ibiza, Arona and Ateca. I'd say the logo has grown on me just understanding the meaning and concept behind the design.

The brand separated from seat because in Spain and in mostly every country the brand is considered shit. In Spain for example when someone wants to reference a bad car the usually say “that thing is worse than a Seat.” So Cupra decided to split to be able to reach a more luxurious costumer base. Ps. I bought one exatly as shown in the video
On the subject of not understanding stuff. I can't understand why you cannot use normal camera equiptment to film the outside of the car instead of the choice of camera used by urban climbers and snowboarders. I understand why you use it for the interior part but it makes your exterior review the worst in the business.
Excellent video team and all the points discussed were so relevant to what an average consumer would be asking a dealer. This car is indeed fast and practical enough for day to day use plus the thrill if you are looking for it. On top of that it's very reasonably priced. Thumbs up given team and keep up the good work 👍
