Your video helped me unlock my engine and replaced an air filter filled with gas and oil. I tilted the mower on the wrong side after my last use. Your explanation and video views made the difference for me. Thank you.
thank you so much. I think I have figured out the issue for my luck for my lawnmower now I really appreciate your help. Thank you sorry if I missed anything I’m using auto corrected because I am driving OK that’s it by
Note to self. I was working on a power rake with a GX200 Honda engine and had it tilted backwards for hours while I worked on it. Oil snuck in through the valves and hydro locked the engine. I should have pulled the cord until I felt the compression stroke or TDC before working on it. Would have saved me the hassle. Good video!
As soon as I saw the oil on the dipstick i thought "i want to see it smoke" There it was at 6:14 You can't compress a liquid eh!!!!! No more mosquito's. Did you tell your neighbour just so he doesn't do it again. Fun video
Thanks Bruce! Yeah I explained to him where to fill it to on the dipstick. He didn't know where to look. He also has been in before because he stored his gas can out in the open and it filled with water. I explained to him that time you can't leave your gas out in the rain!
I will try it in the morning. I have the same issue oil is all over my filter because I tilt it the wrong way so I thought I need oil then I put too much oil. I will check the spare plug .
FOR GOD'S SAKE. please ground that spark plug before pulling that cord or hitting the starter. That could be a fuel/oil mixture in the cylinder due to a stuck float/needle. I darn near burned my house down yesterday. Heck of a fire.
It will cause some carbon build up and a lot of smoke. Not the greatest thing to do but it shouldn't permanently hurt it. Once you've gone through that tank of gas you'd want to at the very least clean the spark plug.
Funny I have the same model and mine is doing the same thing except mine is related to the carburetor . Guess it needs a rebuild of the carb. Toro quality has gone down over the years.

Thank you. I am excited to try this on my mower tomorrow. I am pretty confident that it's my problem.
Just what I needed to do to fix my lawn mower. Thank you!

This sounds like the key to solve the problem I’m having. Great job on the video btw. Would this cause the pull cord to lock up too?

Fixed my problem that I caused by overfilling oil. Now I can't turn it off with the throttle. Had to knock the spark plug cover off.

You are a rockstar! Thank you!
Nice and clean oil
Thank you
No mosquitoes in the yard.
I believe I have hydrolock. I removed the spark plug bit pullcord is still locked. This indicates a different problem?
im having this same problem, did you ever find a solution?
Question ….we put oil in gas tank of lawn mower , will this harm its proforance??
