It was even established we weren't even doing it seriously as we only had 4 people on that expert mission. It was at that point I knew I didn't want to have anything to do with that group of his and left midwave of that first wave, but before I could say anything as to why I left he already had me removed saying he had enough of me wasting his time (despite never having an issues before in any of the times we played).

@AbominationGod it really depends, what if the engie is destracted, and he forgets about the sentry buster the pyro can then airblast it away, but yeah i agree it usually goes wrong.

Man, the last time i tried MVM was when i tried to be a Medic. My team would die every few seconds and would blame me for not supporting. How could i support if there are 1 heavy, 1 sniper and 2 spies??? Annnd they kicked me out lol
Had a run in with this guy while playing casual on Badwater, he got so upset so quickly we thought he was trolling. Nope, he was legitimately upset at everything. Said something like "I'm done with this fucktarded team." It was funny how pissed he was over nothing.
no fucking way? this guy is still active on TF2? dear christ someone needs to ban this mf from steam this video singlehandedly tells us why... ua-cam.com/video/aATR3F-N_18/v-deo.html why tf does he still exist really??
You know, I've played TF2 since release and was really excited when MVM came out. I always play it super casually with some friends and never did any tours, and after this video and a bunch of others highlighting the MVM community, i think i made the right choice to just stay out of it
Toxic player: Do exactly what I say no matter what and don't have fun. player: refuses anything bad happens in the round whatsoever Toxic player: this is all your fault, kick him
With the right upgrades, a backburner Pyro on Mannhattan can easily keep up in damage with a heavy with or without the gas passer for someone that knows how aggro works. A shame there's no easy place for new players to learn how to become better. Boot camp is a disaster a lot of times and Mann Up Mode they usually expect you to know what you are doing. Doesn't help that Mann Up Mode is like a gambling game to some doing the two cities tour, so they're even less patient to take the time to at least attempt to explain briefly why certain things do and do not work. It's a bit annoying that instead of them seeing as they can potentially get a higher score and do more damage themselves, they see it as they have to do more work or that it's slowing them down.
Just recently started, almost everyone I met was actually quite nice and understanding, even those with dozens or hundreds of tours under their belts. They were even fairly encouraging and I even got free lessons/tips for MvM. Granted, I've only ever done Two Cities, and it was only 2 completed tours. I guess I'm just lucky I haven't encountered these sorts of people. Yet. *I should add, they even encouraged I use the Gas Passer lmao.
@@ryantcm187 Good to hear you had a positive experience with it so far and that people were being team players helping each other. That's what makes the game fun is the teamwork if you ask me and it's reassuring to see this prevail.
honestly people like this just make me think that maybe the overly toxic tryhards in gaming in general need a different hobby, or to play the game like it's a hobby, not a damn job. Reminder that game devs like to cater to these people and 100% of the time the decisions made in such contexts drive games into the ground every literal time
Me and a friend played MvM for fun. we didn't want profit and tbh the 3 tours i did were THE most fun time i ever had in TF2. in one lobby one of these toxic lads joined, then went apeshit when we didn't kick my friend. He AFK'd, almost got carried to completion, then the team kicked em. Ik noone asked, but eh.
One time i played with a guy with over 5,000 tours and he was chill asf, was a nice person, didnt blame a tone and if we lost rounds he would actually try again instead of leaving, the thing is the most toxic people was everyone fighting each other and blaming each other when they had 5 tours max, tf2 was really a great game
Wish I had that sort of guy. Kept almost getting kicked because of some 136 tour soldier who thought he was better than me and tried to control my way of playing. He told me once "you better play how I tell you" and I actually said to him "I'll play how I goddamn well want to. You don't like it, tough shit. You got more tours, it don't make you skilled. Probably got carried by your friends" And then he just shut up and tried to kick me last wave. Failed, and we kicked him, with me giving a mocking "bye bye diddums" to him
Because of people like this guy I always play with bots, even when I want to play with other players. You know, social anxiety doesn't help either, but this kind of person just make it WORSE.
@HACKER-ct6hd Second Life is (or perhaps was no with VR Chat being a thing) a virtual world where ot was basically life in VR. Minus all the unpleasant things like jobs and what not (again not like they don't exist in the game but, point stands.) With that being said, the game has a lot of trolling and it is easy to troll someone on the game. The simplest (I fell for it too but, I was also 13) is naming an items something innocent (like sunglasses or hat.) Only for it to be a giant floppy dick or slurs or something else of the sort.
One time I almost got kicked because I wasn't using the phlog (thankfully everyone voted no) The person who called the vote didn't even ask me to switch to it or anything, he was also playing Engineer (even though we already had an Engi) Later another team member tried to vote kick him for trying to kick me, and his response was something like "Bro you dont have to kick me for being the second engi, at least ask me to switch to a different class first or something. god." (even though he was trying to kick me without asking to switch weapons first...)
Man you know you're in for a treat when your teammate starts telling you not to play what you want. Sure it can be for the better sometimes, but most of the time you can play however you want.
these dudes are just annoying I met one of them in a lobby made the whole round suck. its just a game let other players do what they want. First time I ever heard someone say "gas ape" they think they're smarter then everyone but the actual pro mvm players just straight up don't care
The weirdest shit to me is that mvm especially two cities is like the easiest shit in the world. I swear to god your entire team needs to be fucking up to such an immense degree for you to actually fail a wave it’s crazy. I once went fat scout with some people who were ok with it and we still passed the waves fine.
A main reason I won't be looking forward to mann up anytime soon. I love mvm pyro but if I so much as choose him for a second over the "wildy important" characters I never play such as engi or scout, I wouldn't be surprised if I was kicked for not "playing by the meta" (or because I'm playing gas passer WHEN I KNOW HOW TO NOT DIE IMMEDIATELY) when I just wanna have fun. Shame too considering I heard it can be pretty fun...
Dont worry about that too much, I've only run into people like this maybe 3 times in 30 or so tours. Most people are generally friendly. Mann up is very fun
You shouldn't be pressured to do anything, if you know what you're doing then you shouldn't have to bend to their wills. They even kicked you afterwards, just because you not following exactly what they want. To me kicking is a bad evil, only to be used for bots/script users, it shouldn't be used to pressure people to do what you want because your father beat you. Also the pinned comment, as a person who's been on the internet for half my life, then being nice one game means nothing. People have masks they can put on, if they act like this even after you complied treating you like an idiot then they are that way. Them putting on a mask around their friends or others is to manipulate them into thinking they are a good person. TLDR - If you get mad over a person playing the game the way they want to, *without being nice first,* then you're messed up in the head.
The country that I live is *really* expensive the MvM ticket, so I rarely get one. This last weekend I bought one because I enjoy MvM a lot, I'm always playing on community servers. I've already heard about these guys, but I (fortunately) never had this bad experience untill Saturday :( The only reason why that guy started talking shit was because I didn't follow the "meta" - use Sidney Sleeper and take his teleporter to a "good" place Man, I play how I think I should play, and I actually did a decent amount of damage and killed the medics Next matches that I searched he was there and started to talk shit about me to the others untill I get vote kicked What a shame to the community
met a guy like this, his name was gergez he had like 1000 tours? most of them were as engineer, i've played a normal mvm mission due to me having a ticket left, and i joined, after some time i've told him to move his sentry cuz it was in a bad spot, didn't listen and it got destroyed 5 times, and i made more kills than him with gas passer and the back burner, he kicked me and trash talked me, i called him out and he used his friend to try n destroy my reputation, funny enough he said that im a 0 tour pyro, how do you expect me to get tours while you kick me for you being greedy asf????
I think my first mvm experience on completing a tour… was this guy leaving because I was low tour rank… then proceeding to bitch about how I wasn’t playing the meta… and how he wanted to speedrun the lobby… it was fair for him to leave… but we kept queueing together 4 times after that, and eventually he sucked it up and said “fine but just know I’m not gonna carry your ass”… was my first ever MVM experience and I hated every moment cause of that 1 guy…
It’ll never be enough for people like this. That’s always been the problem with toxicity in mvm: you can submit to their requests, choose the class and abilities they want, and they’ll still find something wrong
This reminds me of a guy I played with on Destiny doing raids. He acted pretty much exactly the same as this guy in the vid, except anytime a phase/puzzle was failed he would always talk shit to the entire team. Even when I clearly saw him failing on his part he would blame someone else. The whole team would eventually simultaneously leave and never complete the raid. I ran into him 4 more times and it was the same story every single time. He was eventually banned from the Discord cause of complaints. I mean I once had to Sherpa 4 to 5 new guys on a raid and holy shit that was a smooth completion. I didn't even get to fully explain the final bosses mechanics because we started the encounter early yet we still completed it first try even doing it the more difficult yet efficient way. This was Deep Stone Crypt for anyone wondering. TLDR: I have 1200 hrs in D2, Had the same experience with a similar player in the vid on Destiny yet I had a great time with complete novices on a hard activity. Stop treating new people to the game/activity like shit and maybe you'll be surprised.
at 0:21 the 'unintelligible' thing he said was "dc to get back into the wave" or something along those lines the DILLUSION of these players goes so far to the point that they 'believe' that you miss clicked and accidently selected pyro.. and they're saying that you should rejoin to 'select the class you ACTUALLY wanted to play' mid wave.. that baffles me to no end. also gotta love his friend saying just prior 'uhoh, a 18 tour pyro' in such a condescending tone, as if that means anything to anyone outside of their brain-ded mindset of 'fuck pyro except when we're using it to grief'
Even mid level players know that a player who joins during the wave as pyro, buys airblast force, and dies 10 seconds into arriving at the front is almost certainly someone who stubbornly rejects game sense; i.e: a bad player.
The only thing I tell pyros not to do is airblast spam. I'm a Brass Beast sentry and it's annoying to have the heavies strongest weapon NULLIFIED because new players go in thinking airblast is just as good as it is in regular gameplay. I'm not going to rage about it, just a "hey yo, pyro, lay off the Airb wouldja?"
A server of vsh just bullied a toxic player out of the server. He complained when anyone capped, even calling saxton a bitch for accidentally walking over the point while chasing someone. He constantly berated the engineers for their sentry placement, every single time he missed he went on a rant about how valve needs to fix the bugs in their game. Whenever he got killed by saxton he always accused the person of targeting him. After like 10 minutes of everyone else making fun of him he finally quit. This appeared on my feed less than 5 mins after that, feels good.

(buying some decent upgrades for pyro) gas and max airblast ok
@AbominationGod well, if no one managed to kill big robot with the bomb, pyro can just airblast them away into a pit or the grinder (it depends). also, if the bomb is too close to the bombing area, pyro is there to knock it away
I recall once during an Upward match before the bot crisis i was attempting to be motivational, which resulted in a loud and toxic player calling for my banishment, all the while we're being spawncamped by enemy team, I proceed to break the standoff and get promptly kicked after I rightfully took my credit due.
Bro. I was there when the update was released and it was hype, man. I was mainly Scout throughout the entire thing and I also remember that we could lose a wave ten times and still keep trying. I come back in 2021 and it's so different. Like you just pick a single class that's not "viable" and you get kicked immediately.
Met this one toxic dude who put his entire computer build as his steam profile and he hated that I went pyro which no one else in the game cared but he kept bitching and moaning until he got them to kick me. The group felt bad and invited me back on their next tour and he was nowhere to be found. I have maybe 15 tours done but took advice from someone that's done over 1000 and toxic players ruin mvm tbh. Like it's not that serious, it's a cool game mode and all but it's a game no need to be an ass the entire time
@@thenextgeneration9030 it doesn’t in any way. Just counts how many times you bought a ticket, like to person said boot camp exist, you could play boot camp for months or even years and not have a single tour and be better than someone with 50, tours mean nothing.
I remember i played with a player that shat himself and ruined the game, not because i picked the “wrong class” or did anything bad. He wanted to kick me because i had “| trade.tf” at the end of my name and he “didnt want to stare at an advertisement all game”
I got kicked by [some wise guy] for just playing as the best [meet the demoman] loadout for mvm. For using the Iron [Bomb has been planted], the Scottish Resistance, and the [BOOMSTICK!]
Ran into the guy recently. Seemed a little on edge, but not too bad. Then got messaged by another guy telling me about his “interests” in people of a certain age demographic. Interesting point in my TF2 career.
He did not. He switched classes, sure, but purposefully bought the wrong upgrades and kept them even after they called it out. Rocket specialist is expensive and bugged, gives almost nothing past 1 tick(1 rocket specialist is still great and worth it), a second tick on it is totally useless. He bought crit resistance, which is also useless in a wave where all the crits you have to worry about is 4 small crit heavy. Resistances are totally useless in the first place(edit: resistances are great, just not in this particular scenario for soldier ), since heavy is the one absorbing all of the damages, if you strugleing to survive, then use conch instead. Other than switching to soldier he did nothing to cooperate. This isn't called cooperation, this is called purposefully triggering them. Not to mention that low tour pyro itself is extremely controversial, as well as explode on ignite on gas passer and airblast. The guy did everything to trigger them, then uploaded a video on youtube that "look, toxic players". You should not judge those guys based on this video, because the "Game was rigged from the start".
I legit don't understand the mindset behind high-tour players. Like, god forbid you help somebody out so they can have a high tour number of their own..

This remp fella sure is on drugs
Got in a match as Pyro because of tanks but one of the guys said "Hey Pyro, go Medic/Engi or kick"
yeah these tacobots are justa group of virgins who think they're better than everyone else
let people enjoy the game
Man, the last time i tried MVM was when i tried to be a Medic. My team would die every few seconds and would blame me for not supporting.
How could i support if there are 1 heavy, 1 sniper and 2 spies???
Annnd they kicked me out lol
Lol imagine having 2 spies and blaming the Medic for everyone dying XD
bet they instantly realized how stupid that decision was. monkeys
Had a run in with this guy while playing casual on Badwater, he got so upset so quickly we thought he was trolling. Nope, he was legitimately upset at everything. Said something like "I'm done with this fucktarded team." It was funny how pissed he was over nothing.
no fucking way? this guy is still active on TF2? dear christ someone needs to ban this mf from steam
this video singlehandedly tells us why...
ua-cam.com/video/aATR3F-N_18/v-deo.html
why tf does he still exist really??
You know, I've played TF2 since release and was really excited when MVM came out. I always play it super casually with some friends and never did any tours, and after this video and a bunch of others highlighting the MVM community, i think i made the right choice to just stay out of it
I remember making someone ragequit because I was a Pyro with the Gas Passer.
Toxic player: Do exactly what I say no matter what and don't have fun.
player: refuses
anything bad happens in the round whatsoever
Toxic player: this is all your fault, kick him
He doesn't even care you made it at the end of the wave, he still is upset that you got Extra rocket specialist
Reminder that game devs like to cater to these people and 100% of the time the decisions made in such contexts drive games into the ground every literal time
"Buying some decent upgrades" proceeds to buy airblast force.
The guy sounds like a real control freak.
Cool story, I liked it... That guy sounds like a douche lol.
Probably got carried by your friends"
And then he just shut up and tried to kick me last wave. Failed, and we kicked him, with me giving a mocking "bye bye diddums" to him
Because of people like this guy I always play with bots, even when I want to play with other players. You know, social anxiety doesn't help either, but this kind of person just make it WORSE.
Trust me, the amount of entertainment you can get in casual is 120% worth the chance of meeting toxic players, which isn't even that high
>What's wrong with it?
>Instantly dies
My sides!!!
vc in tf2 sounds like everyone is having a stroke then restarting like a windows vista
"Im done I cant take it anymore" what kind of a flex if having the most tours in all of tf2 if you cant win as a 5man
Extremely Toxic that i never expected..
he seems like one of those people that would get trolled super hard in 2nd life
LOL i know just what you mean
@@GameyRaccoon I dont, what does he mean
@HACKER-ct6hd Second Life is (or perhaps was no with VR Chat being a thing) a virtual world where ot was basically life in VR. Minus all the unpleasant things like jobs and what not (again not like they don't exist in the game but, point stands.) With that being said, the game has a lot of trolling and it is easy to troll someone on the game. The simplest (I fell for it too but, I was also 13) is naming an items something innocent (like sunglasses or hat.) Only for it to be a giant floppy dick or slurs or something else of the sort.
i love how you do literally everything he asks and he still kicks you in the end
Imagine sweating this hard over an abandoned gamemode for a game that came out 14 years ago.
Man you know you're in for a treat when your teammate starts telling you not to play what you want. Sure it can be for the better sometimes, but most of the time you can play however you want.
these dudes are just annoying
I met one of them in a lobby
made the whole round suck.
its just a game let other players do what they want. First time I ever heard someone say "gas ape"
they think they're smarter then everyone but the actual pro mvm players just straight up don't care
The weirdest shit to me is that mvm especially two cities is like the easiest shit in the world. I swear to god your entire team needs to be fucking up to such an immense degree for you to actually fail a wave it’s crazy. I once went fat scout with some people who were ok with it and we still passed the waves fine.
lol
No dude you have to play the most boring class in the mode (scout) and if you miss even 5 credits youre getting kicked
buying decent upgrades for pyro
* proceeds to buy airblast force *
TLDR - If you get mad over a person playing the game the way they want to, *without being nice first,* then you're messed up in the head.
we failed man we cant save tf 2 [ /
The country that I live is *really* expensive the MvM ticket, so I rarely get one.
This last weekend I bought one because I enjoy MvM a lot, I'm always playing on community servers.
I've already heard about these guys, but I (fortunately) never had this bad experience untill Saturday :(
The only reason why that guy started talking shit was because I didn't follow the "meta" - use Sidney Sleeper and take his teleporter to a "good" place
Man, I play how I think I should play, and I actually did a decent amount of damage and killed the medics
Next matches that I searched he was there and started to talk shit about me to the others untill I get vote kicked
What a shame to the community
met a guy like this, his name was gergez
he had like 1000 tours? most of them were as engineer,
i've played a normal mvm mission due to me having a ticket left, and i joined, after some time i've told him to move his sentry cuz it was in a bad spot, didn't listen and it got destroyed 5 times, and i made more kills than him with gas passer and the back burner, he kicked me and trash talked me, i called him out and he used his friend to try n destroy my reputation, funny enough he said that im a 0 tour pyro, how do you expect me to get tours while you kick me for you being greedy asf????
I think my first mvm experience on completing a tour… was this guy leaving because I was low tour rank… then proceeding to bitch about how I wasn’t playing the meta… and how he wanted to speedrun the lobby… it was fair for him to leave… but we kept queueing together 4 times after that, and eventually he sucked it up and said “fine but just know I’m not gonna carry your ass”… was my first ever MVM experience and I hated every moment cause of that 1 guy…
I will always remember how some guy gave me a Kritzkrieg in MVM because I was new to the game.
It’ll never be enough for people like this. That’s always been the problem with toxicity in mvm: you can submit to their requests, choose the class and abilities they want, and they’ll still find something wrong
"Buying some decent upgrades for pyro"
*gets airblast force wave 1*
Stop treating new people to the game/activity like shit and maybe you'll be surprised.
i still remember tht guy who told me geniune advice as soldier and i still lost, i'm sorry
“Buying some decent upgrades for pyro” *buys air blast force*
at 0:21 the 'unintelligible' thing he said was
"dc to get back into the wave" or something along those lines
the DILLUSION of these players goes so far to the point that they 'believe' that you miss clicked and accidently selected pyro.. and they're saying that you should rejoin to 'select the class you ACTUALLY wanted to play' mid wave.. that baffles me to no end.
also gotta love his friend saying just prior 'uhoh, a 18 tour pyro' in such a condescending tone, as if that means anything to anyone outside of their brain-ded mindset of 'fuck pyro except when we're using it to grief'
Every time he said bro i cried
just a thing: don't get airblast force, damage and resistances are almost always going to be better
Even mid level players know that a player who joins during the wave as pyro, buys airblast force, and dies 10 seconds into arriving at the front is almost certainly someone who stubbornly rejects game sense; i.e: a bad player.
Shit like this is why I'm so reluctant to try MvM.
Ik :(
The only thing I tell pyros not to do is airblast spam.
"buying some decent upgrades for pyro" (takes +3 airblast push force) you cant even make this shit up
damn that person really thinks he can boss people around
A server of vsh just bullied a toxic player out of the server. He complained when anyone capped, even calling saxton a bitch for accidentally walking over the point while chasing someone. He constantly berated the engineers for their sentry placement, every single time he missed he went on a rant about how valve needs to fix the bugs in their game. Whenever he got killed by saxton he always accused the person of targeting him. After like 10 minutes of everyone else making fun of him he finally quit. This appeared on my feed less than 5 mins after that, feels good.
(buying some decent upgrades for pyro)
gas and max airblast
ok
lmao this point
Air blast is actually insanely useful against giant scouts.
Gaspasser is op
And airblast is good for moving the bomb back and stopping giant scouts
yea, i always focus on airblast if i play as pyro. dang, you can even troll those robots by airblasting it to the sky
I really wonder who would win in a battle of toxicity between MVM players and WoW classic players
He's not just toxic, he is noob aswell which making him angry af
Like it's not that serious, it's a cool game mode and all but it's a game no need to be an ass the entire time
Fact: tours doesn’t mean how skilled you are in mvm(because boot camp exists), it means how much money you spent in the game
well it kind of does to be fair
@@thenextgeneration9030 it doesn’t in any way. Just counts how many times you bought a ticket, like to person said boot camp exist, you could play boot camp for months or even years and not have a single tour and be better than someone with 50, tours mean nothing.
I remember i played with a player that shat himself and ruined the game, not because i picked the “wrong class” or did anything bad. He wanted to kick me because i had “| trade.tf” at the end of my name and he “didnt want to stare at an advertisement all game”
TF2 MvM is a hub of autistic try hards with little "quirks" like that.
I love the mode though but the people suck.

REMP: I never looked it up, but I'm prob num 1 in tours
Other player with +400 tours: *Ok bro.*
+1000 tour players: *Patchetic.*
I literally just experienced this, because I went against the meta, and played pyro
This is so underrated, this should get more views!
Ran into the guy recently. Seemed a little on edge, but not too bad. Then got messaged by another guy telling me about his “interests” in people of a certain age demographic. Interesting point in my TF2 career.
This is why I have yet to play a single MvM match to this date.
Unbelievable. To think that you even cooperated and remained calm the entire time. İ'm glad İ never met people this toxic on mvm.
I knew things would go sour as soon as you grabbed the gas passer.
0:22 I think he said “just wait till the end of the wave bro”
Remp is the type of the person to take a nap after waking up
I remember playing with this dude on my 2nd or 3rd tour he was bossing me around and demanding of what upgrades i get
Man, i think this dude was so toxic that he forgot that uranium can't talk
REMP is the type of person to say “games are not for fun, they are for rewards”
fr. I mean, I want the rewards, but I don't care if we lose lmao. I just go "Alright lets try that again lol". As long as I'm having fun, I'm fine.
i've been in a game with REMP owner before, he was toxic. He tried to kick our pyro, the vote failed, and we kicked him
Literally earlier today, I played Mvm with 5 other Randoms and we decided to all go Bison Soldier and we had an amazing time killing robots and just having fun together, What the heck happened?
Reminds me of the time I was part of a 6-Engi team on Mannhattan. We may or may not have also played one wave as a 6-Sniper team, I don't remember exactly.
Did an all Scout round a week ago, it was absolutely wonderful
I haven't had any run-ins with someone like this while doing 2 Cities, but part of me still refuses to believe these people actually exist
how to deal with this:
gas passer + phlog, making his class pretty useless
i knew what was about to go down when i saw the gas passer
Defense upgrades on Pyro / Scout at start, ALWAYS. Save offense for when you're bulked.
Meet The Unoriginal Overused Outdated Word
i met that kinna player and hes being salty and saying swears and stuff
and the worst part is im a good player in our team and i give advices and he just tell me 2 shut up and our team lost....
at last our team kicked him and that felt soooo good
Airblast force isn't really necessary. Should invest in resistances instead since pyro dies easily
Remp: Stop getting useless upgrades, we won't make it to wave 4!
*Passes to said wave*
Remp: No! You're supposed to prove me right! Kick!
First time I played MVM they were surprisingly chill. Especially for me just.. not knowing what I was doing. At all.
they always kick competent players only for them to be replaced with a tour 1. I met a genuinely awesome fella with over 1k tours. Wish we added.
I had this guy kick me because I was using stickies and did not specify why I should not
I think I found the game where I got kicked in tacobot.tf
