never forgiving tiktok for how they treated the first girl
What happened to her?
@@k.upward everyone bullied the heck outta her because they said she sounded so bad and couldnt harmonise at all and basically bullied her to stop singing.
Shes singing dissonance but the bulk of tiktok didnt care to realise that so just jumped the bandwagon to call her shit. In the emd she deleted the video and deactivated her account, i believe shes back posting now though after the amount of support she got after the fact? I cant remember exactly
@@k.upward they bullied her into deleting her account
@kelseyupward1109 People said it sounded bad because of the dissonance, wich was clearly intended. They blamed her for singing the 'wrong' notes, wich, as any good musician will tell you, don't exist, or they said that she couldn't sing in tune while she was singing really well.
@@brentsaelens3174 Yes. I was more wondering what the aftermath was? Did she have to delete her tiktok?
dude, I don’t understand why people are so uncultured they just can’t deal with the fact that dissonance if done right is so beautiful
I'd say close minded....
@PeakApex yk that’s valid too ig
“If done right”
So you do understand
But the first girl just doesn't sound good
@@theincident-mix5933 thats subjective and most people who actually understand music theory seem to like it
Yeah the dissonance girl's melody works, it's just that the mic quality wasn't the best
it's not the mic quality, she is admittedly not a very good singer
It's subjective obviously, but no - I just don't think she's a good harmonist, and the notes she picks sound quite bad, apart from the last two
@@abird6217 i wouldnt say theyre bad. i think the tension she purposely created only amplifies the beauty of how the harmony resolves
@@abird6217 It's subjective IMO, I really like how it sounds.
@@abird6217She is hitting the notes all in tune, thats a lot of skill tbh. The 5th interval she chose is kinda sour but still its harmonizing
im obsessed w the first attempts, i think what makes the original girl's attempt so "bad" to some people is that she starts very soft and close to her mic and then pulls away and puts more air into it to sing bc thats literally how singing works? this isnt a matter of being a good singer or not, it's recognizing that the dissonance works even though it's not a combination that's used very often, or it is and we can't hear it bc its in a fully produced song where voices can be balanced properly and not a duet to a tik tok where the duet is now louder than the original video
My personal opinion is that her voice sticks out too much for them. Like what someone in the video said, it's about blending. Being too out there feels awkward. Imagine a pianist playing a chord with one note noticeably louder than the other notes. It will feel strange and a bit off.
She sounds tone deaf
The thing is she probably didn't do the dissonance on purpose so stop coping ok? She messed up (but it turned out)
Done. *mic drop.
There's absolutely no doubt about it. 50 shades of swag the first singer (girl with glasses) is THE BEST HARMONY XXXX
Thanks for featuring me :D 1:40
You did amazing!
Honestly, my favorite
@@Bomboclaat23 Thank you :D
i like the dissonace as it gives it a cool synth effect
i really prefer when ppl do it like 2:47 or even 3:25, when it's not just a perfect fith and there's variation
THE DUET AT 2:00 IS SO FUCKING GOOD HOLY SHIT
No its not bruh lol shes not even harmonizing for a lot of it
@@blitzkow3914 I just mean that for most of it she is singing the same notes as the other person.
@@CT-sp7uq that does not mean it’s not good.
She needs a mic with less distortion
Half of this is just screeching into bad apple earbuds
i personally love these types of harmonies lol
I GO FERAL OVER DISSONANT HARMONIES
Same
I think the biggest thing is just how ring-y the girl's harmony sounds. It has a really full sound in a way that can be jarring for the unacquainted, but anyone who listens to it and interacts with music like it for a while I have seen begins to like it more and more for how rich the feel of the sound is.
OH MY GOD. WHO COULD EVER HATE THE FIRST GIRL????
THE "LOCKS IN" IS _SO CRISPY_
1:54 has to be one of the best things ive ever heard holy fuck its so pretty
The first duet is so gooood
This is the most greatest and underrated video I've seen so far. 10/10 👁️👄👁️
It sounds so good 🌿
My question is, how do i do this? How do you just know how to harmonize on the spot? Even if you know music theory, wouldn't you need to have perfect pitch to know the perfect 5ths, 4th, etc. to harmonize. How does it work? I can't produce harmonies in singing for the life of me
It's more so knowing how to sing, rather than being good at it. People who work with instruments are very good at this cause they hear the isolated notes very often. But it's just practice really
@@Bomboclaat23 Yeah. I mean, I have played the guitar for some time now and been singing for a long time, but I only got into music theory recently, so harmony on paper seems simple to me, but actually singing harmonies by ear seems impossible to me, because I don't yet "hear" the 3rds and 5ths etc. when i hear melodies. On chords i can hear them, but melodies are usually not just the root note of the chord, or the 3rd and 5th, they follow the whole key, and that's why it's more complicated to me i guess. Since i would need to "find" the 3rds and 5ths of every individual note.
@@Unkn4wN_TM I agree 😭. Ive tried to learn some songs by ear (I'm just making my life harder) and it gets so hard when having to interpret different chords, especially when harmonies are involved, let alone dissonance. They all just blend together and it sounds good but makes everything so hard
im not a pro or anything but I learned how to do basic boring harmonies just from learning the harmonies of other songs lol, that's how my friend learned as well it just eventually becomes second nature with enough exposure. I will say I sometimes struggle figuring it out if I haven't sang in a long time
the first girl's singing isnt trash, it's her mic that's trash.
Nah it's her tone of voice she chose as if shes pinching her nose closed
@@vinslungurfinally someone said it
The emo anthem was sick ngl!
Faxx
2:21 actually made me melt
the one at 3:23 is so good
agreed, thats my fav one
wait 1:20... ITS SO BEAUTIFUL
Just wanna correct smt.. Sarah is not the original singer.. she just also cover it.. you can search it up the original artist :) great compilation tho
Love the dissonance from the 2nd girl
1:20 OHMYGOSH HEEH WHAT- THAT SOUNDS SOOOO GOOD😭
Edit: 2:22 YESSS THAT ONE TOO🤩🤩😭😭
It feels like sound of heaven 😢❤❤
i dont know why but I was expecting one of these to be mongolian throat singing
Some of these are just louder than the original sound and it makes it sound bad
Second guy was fire
almost everyone has at least one progression thats the same as the first girl
after hearing both the 'correct' and the first girl's harmonizations (and everything in between) I think this just doesn't need any harmony. not saying it's wrong to try. not saying the bullying made any sense. i just prefer it without
👏👏👏
Jesus Christ tik tok can't harmonize for shit
Wronnnggggggg
@@chillingwithshillam What a compelling counter argument
@@MasDouc your argument itself falls flat, especially considering each and every note hit was correct and intelligent-use of harmonies and resonance/ dissonance. You literally didn't give a reason why they can't harmonise "for shit", so I mean? 😂
ua-cam.com/video/mqsnqIw--RU/v-deo.html&ab_channel=AdamNeely
Do you really think she did dissonance by accident or is any music that is slightly uncomfortable for you bad.
