Anytime something good, or bad, happened, he was the first person I called because I always knew he was a phone call away. I still find myself wanting to pick up the phone to call him and there are times that I just don’t know how I’m going to make it another day without him. He was in hospice and as a nurse I just keep questioning why couldn’t I have been able to save him especially since I’ve been able to help so many other people and if I could help them why couldn’t I have helped him. The only thing I take comfort in was that I was at his bedside holding his hand and was able to tell him I loved him when he took his last breath. It’s a moment that at times haunts me but it’s also a moment that I saw him at peace and know he didn’t suffer. I was very blessed to have been able to have him as my dad and I do take comfort in your words and you’ve brought me peace and hope and for that, I thank you! ❤️❤️
