Spot on! Chuck all the upgrades on it call it a pro but install friction shocks. It couldn't cost much more🤔 It is a fun car though. Thanks as always Tim, have a good Christmas mate🎄🙂
I know how you feel but seriously you will miss out on a great experience if you don't try one. It's still cheap compared to probably all other brushless options even after buying upgrade shocks for it.
You are correct actually🤦 I just plugged mine in and the 3rd channel does allow you to change the light function. Thank you for making me want to double check mine😅👌
A guess by having bigger wheels compared to a lot of the other 1/16th cars puts a little more stress on the suspension parts. To handle the extra speed those bigger wheels look like they are definitely needed though
You may actually be more correct than you realise. The way a off-road car should be set up in my opinion is so on landings the car can bottom out if it needs to. The way this and many other cheaper cars are set up without proper geometry they don't bottom out running those bigger wheels. So yes it would definitely put excessive strain and pressure on the parts. Well pointed out👌
@@rccrazy thanks I have a little advantage with being involved and now owner of a model shop that has been going for 19 years 😛. These little cars are great though and getting more people into the hobby especially kids. Have you seen the 1:12th HBX one based off their 1:16th platform also sold under many different names, not seen a brushless version yet just brushed? The MJX Hyper Go's getting some love as well. The naming system for some of these cars is very confusing though, I never remember the WL Toys ones 🤷😂
Oh very nice! You would definitely be helping the hobby big time then👌 Not brushless I dont think but I have seen some of the 1/12 HBX cars, not 100% sure it's the one you mean, so many around these days it's extremely hard to keep up😅 I like the MJX chassis being based around the HBX but if you watch my first MJX vid you'll see I didn't have the greatest outcome, a driveshaft broke after maybe 7 tiny jumps (brushed version) and there was no parts available at the time😕 I'll have to get that back out now I got parts.
Thank you, and thanks for watching👍 I think spare parts are available on Aliexpress and possibly Banggood. Try searching for JJRC and Su Chi Yu parts, they are compatible👌
Nice video bro, I just bought this orange rc car but still waiting from china.. I can't wait to play, I hope my friend is always healthy.. I'm from Malaysia 🇲🇾
Thank you! If you have 2 of them you can run them both at the same time yes, you would probably have to turn one on first let it connect to it's controller then do the second one, shouldn't have any issues👍
JJRC cool Drohnen and Cars. Can you use a 3S lipo battery with this model without it breaking? Thanks, I ordered it in pink, hope it arrives soon, wait 14 days. Really cool video.
Yes definitely a good cheap brand to choose👌 If the esc box has 3 x tabs mounting it to the car it is less likely to survive 3s. None of mine have tabs on the esc they are just stuck down with double side tape. Thank you for watching.
Out of the 1/16 brushless cars (HBX, MJX, Hosim and all the other variants) I've seen, this is the fastest. On 2s lipo HBX 16889 - 39km/h MJX - 49km/h SCY - 55km/h The only issue is the parts. 3s wears out the metal gear on my HBX so I wonder how the parts on this will fair if you use 3s
I don't want to spoil the results if you wanted to watch the 3s test vid so here is the link ua-cam.com/video/mt6DDve-sQk/v-deo.html It is fast though and reasonably strong components. But HBX/Eachine have by far the strongest parts, even the Eachine plastic drivetrain lasted longer than ALL 1/16 cars iv tested on 3s, insane skate Park bashing with my Eachine EC30 with all plastic drivetrain and all I broke was 1 plastic driveshaft🤯 That was after multiple very hard bashes with it!
Saw the vid. 81 is impressive. I got 86km on the HBX but I changed the motor to a 5900kv 2845 using the same wheels as the JJRC/SCY. The gearing on that car is built for speed. Let's hope it holds to your 3s bash cause on the HBX they don't last if you bash it (rear bevel gear only) Oh and one other thing I like about the tyres is that they don't balloon as bad as others. Max speed I got on those tyres were 130km. 😆
Yeah I got 102kph with my HBX 16889 on 3s 2845 5900kv, tiny foam wheels and geared up, going 4s very soon! Yes the hbx/eachine and jjrc/su chi yu 1/16s can definitely handle 3s, landing jumps with as little throttle as possible makes a huge difference to diff lifespan, obviously it's impossible to avoid crunching the gears sometimes. 130kph with any of these cheap wheels is crazy, well done🤘
That's right. I saw that vid you did with David for the 16889 speed challenge. That was a good one. Yeah I'm surprised the tyres held up even to that speed but it was on a 124019 4s. Okies cool, look forward to that 4s run and thanks for replying as well 🙃
Yes I enjoy that colab challenge, was great fun😁 130kph is impressive on any platform really, but yes 144s and 124s are exceptionally smooth for speedruns once set-up correctly👌 And you are very welcome😉
Thank you heaps mate! I'm glad you picked this one for you son, they are great cars for the price! It depends what the car will be used for but you can run whatever shocks you want upto 65mm. Any longer and the driveshafts bind up in the outdrives/drive cups. I use wltoys 65mm shocks front and rear with 30w oil all around👌
I'm just using wltoys 144001 shocks, they do a good job but they are a TINY bit to long so the chassis can't bottom out. If your not doing huge jumps it's fine, if you are jumping a lot then try MJX hyper go shocks, they are shorter.
I did not check the diffs before driving but it feels like they don't have any oil or grease in them. A bit extra diff oil or grease will definitely help👌
@Sanchez-uh3uc according to the company they are water proof but many people have told me they are definitely not water proof. It's a try at your own risk type scenario I think, sorry I couldn't help
Iv ordered this truck from temu will be here monday, i ordered oil shock for it i have them already and i also have the hyper go h16bm truck also im enjoying it very much
Awesome! They are very capable little cars and super fun, hyper go's are also fun the only thing I don't really like about them is they are super heavy.
If you mean like a crawler then I don't think so. You would have to lock the diffs, change the wheels and probably put different shocks on it. It's definitely for jumps and fast driving.
You can buy whatever brand you want, just match the measurements so it fits in the battery bay and has the same plug, so just search 1500mah 2s lipo with Dean's plugs. You can also use 3s lipos for more speed, I use 850mah 3s lipos.
It does but that's what RCs are supposed to do so you don't damage every other part. Shocks in particular are at massive risk of damage if the car can not bottom out.
@@rccrazy huh... yeah i can see that rn i bought one and i jumped etc. and it has a lot of scrappin on the bottom. thanks for the answer i was really worried that it could damage it!
Thanks heaps mate! So to go faster your always going to want to go higher voltage, higher C rating kinda gives you a tiny bit more speed but nothing compared to volts. If your already running 3s then I would suggest going straight to a 4s system but only run 4s for speedruns, the components aren't really strong enough for 4s bashing. But that would also mean you would need a new radio system(controller and receiver) as you would no longer be able to use the stock 2in1 esc receiver in the car.
@@rccrazy Thanks for the response mate!, im new to rc cars and i just got the rc car, by any chance do you know the exact name for the 3s battery and where to purchase it ? sorry for all the questions, cheers!
Your welcome and never hesitate to ask a question, if I can help I will help👍 The 3s I'm using in this video I can't find for some reason but pretty much any 850mah 3s should fit without issue. If you start going higher mah/capacity it may be a challenge to fit in the actual battery bay. These should fit👇 www.ebay.com.au/itm/204380131155?epid=23025093147&hash=item2f96014f53:g:3TYAAOSwa7ZknAXT&amdata=enc%3AAQAIAAAAwPQqSxDXlHtMHIxRscNmMX7wFYEz7byRjo3yXbQp3ijp4tZ6oWNkPsYvRJVepUbyLsKc5HZwawrxe6wNMJzZTOhN5vv%2F4IfSpTFNC8PVu%2FTRG%2B7OKJUwNnvFdglijlNiZUThof8MdBZc3DUzMymZxrtylWjUW%2B9%2B0sL8sfQMTBy7eFH%2BV4QrvlWwGveebOf%2F0beqfUH7QkVR3cuwUW4m0dE7des81cE6jhXCVaus1iUxtmhjITQlo0a2wT%2F2mB%2BkpA%3D%3D%7Ctkp%3ABk9SR6ykje7LYg But you will also need a deans to xt30 adapter👇 you need the (D) version. www.ebay.com.au/itm/224943196283?hash=item345fa8c87b:g:QNkAAOSwVvtiW1Ik&amdata=enc%3AAQAIAAAA4GQ4Y7DSHmGGxGGsVx%2Fg3mAzNUR6axJ6GAdmLuEByUR%2FO6q6Yf48RSL8V3xlKw9pQKfwgItMNH1RBH4UwOOc1V6U2KsmvV%2BtMCFcdiALTySN%2FSIz7L%2BUq1dSSIeezYIAZuSJhATPYLhpU%2FNFwCs7SO7oL5n0zG1z0f2tTUmYn6voC3%2BIutVMfoF8kPupYO39XpU73nBWolqDrBMn8J34QV3zAzyqlDhk63E348DDRDUywk%2BWwOtSHXJPL4xeGztMVdigTXhfnaKNA0sE7qI%2FAoz1apAN4Py39jSVkQeJAklg%7Ctkp%3ABFBM2qyd7sti Some people run huge lipos on the top centre brace but I don't because I want the lowest CG and more weight mean more chance of damage or parts failing.
Hi just purchased one and when i turn controller and rc on the controller red light flashes and the lights on car flash but car doesn’t do anything not sure if needs binding if it does how do you do it with these
Is the same car as the hbx 1/16, the ftx tracer, the redcat volcano 1/16, the mjx hyper go, racent 1/16, eachine, gantry, ZWN, hosim, hs, lynxtech, JTY, flyhall fc600, jjrc and probably another 174 Chinese brands i forgot to mention... parts are ridiculously available.... (should've done the homework) the MJX HYPER IS BY FAR THE BEST QUALITY AND DURABILITY DUE TO MANY UPGRADES TO STOCK PARTS BTW...
Think your confused as this is nothing like the HBX/FTX platforms! Chassis and components are completely different and parts are not that easy to find for su chi yu or jjrc. And the mjx in my opinion is definitely not the best, far to heavy and the steel is made of glass, HBX steel parts are far superior.
@mzmhrc1274 I 100% believe the HBX diffs and other parts are made from better steel or materials than the MJX but the HBX is much lighter so that could be the main reason why HBX seems better and stronger🤷
Oh cool you decided to get back into RCs? Yes it comes with a 2s and a basic usb charger, awesome little cars👌 Oh and you can run them on 3s stock out of the box👍
@@rccrazywhat's 2s do you recommend. And would like to add some oil filled shocks. Need a decent charger. When I flew rc planes I always used a Cell pro multi 4. Not a great one cause I think it was limited to maybe 4 amps. But i flew giant scale gas.Any recommendations?
I think most 2s upto 1500mah should fit, I only use 3s so I'm not 100% sure with 2s fitments. Shocks I just use wltoys 144 shocks with 30w oil in them. Charger, again I can only recommend what I've personally tried and that would be ISDT, been using the SC-620 500w 20A for like 7 or more years now, AMAZING chargers! There are some ok budget chargers but not many.
You will need a new controller and receiver combo, I recommend DumboRC X6 radio system. And a 3s capable esc, I recommend the Hobbywing WP-10BL-50a esc
Well yes if you controller batteries are flat no the car won't work😅 I would HOPE that was common sense to most people though, batteries need charging or replacing frequently, all batteries!
@@rccrazy well I just ordered another one, two 3s cells, and two 2s cells. My Grandma passed away and I think my grandpa will love to rip these around with one as a new hobby! (Got the 2s cells and lithium ones incase the 3s is too crazy for him or my cousins!) You just earned a sub, thank you so much!
Hello, a question, how many minutes of use does the 3s 850mah 100c battery last for this car? ? approximately I look forward to your comments, greetings friend.
Hello again 🙏 Can you recommend me any good tires from this in aliexpress? Can i put little bigger tires in this...i say 85-90mm/ high. I think default is 80mm...thanks again.
You can put basically any wheels on it but too big and you start stressing out all the components like diffs, shocks, arms and in some cases I've snapped driveshafts become of binding in the diff cups due to the chassis not being able to take the force/stress. I use the original MJX Hyper GO wheels and they seem to do a good job.
Hi I'm having problems with mine. The driveline doesn't seem to function, gears and shafts all seem good tho , I'm not sure how to tell if the motor is bad. Have u had it jam at all?
I've not has this particular motor lock up or blow but I have blown many motors. It's a little hard to tell sometimes as there are a few ways a motor can fail and all feel different. I assume you've taken the motor out of the car and then rolled the car without the motor, if so and it rolls freely without anything binding/locking up then its not your gears.
More mah = more runtime. Unless you mean actual life, how many charges it will get, that I can not answer😅 I would imagine you would be limited to probably 2000mah 2s max and 1000mah 3s max if you want to keep them in the battery bay.
Yeah it couldn't cost them much add oil shocks🤦 Other than that it's awesome, if I could find spare steering knuckles it would be up with my favourites👌
Can u please try 3s with it even tho if it says not to can u try because I want to buy this and want to use 3s in it I think a low C discharge rate should be fine?
I know the buggy version runs 3s no issues ua-cam.com/video/AizjipvJ7_k/v-deo.html But the truggy having a larger motor and larger wheels it will pull more amps possibly blowing the esc combo. Best I could do for you is put the bigger motor in and the truggy wheels on the buggy because the truggy is a spare parts car now😅 Would that be ok?
@@rccrazy could u try for me please or possibly make a video of doing it ik I saw your recent video on it that u converted it but cuz I'm curious because I've seen people say u can run 3s lipo on 35A so would be great if u can try it
Yeah the buggy has the same 35a esc that's why I said I could just swap the motor over and the wheels and its literally exactly the same just a different shell.
@@rccrazy yh if u can could u probably make like a UA-cam short or something ueing the original 35a esc reciver combo and Trying 3s on it probably like 25-40c discharge rate I'd appreciate it alot if u could do that because I really want to buy this car and use 3s on it but don't want to bother buying a new esc and reciver, transmitter
Hey buddy,Have you found a good servo upgrade for this car...mine goes left and right.looking for a quality higher torque metal servo...Everything else is awesome..but i need my cars to track straight when i let goes of the steering wheel..thanks
If it tracks straight when on power but not straight when off the power that could be a number of things, diff gears, wheel locking up, or a servo issue. The system is 3s or 11.1v compatible. You need a 3s lipo battery, I got 56mph completely stock out of the box just by swapping to 3s👌 Try between 650mah and 800mah, most fit easily.
No 2200mah is far too long for these cars. Only downside, the battery bay is so small, it does keeps the car light weight though👌 I think 850mah is going to be max for these cars.
@@rccrazy Brother! Are you worried about the battery compartment or is 2200 50C 3S too much for a 35A regulator??? I was going to order 2200 50c 3s... Have you tried only 800mah? Can I have 1500mah?
Hi 👋 For 1/16 cars I would use 400-600cst in the shocks but the stock shocks are not oil filled! Personally I would use 50k oil for the front diff and 30k oil for the rear.
@@rccrazyHello again, I wanted to get the mjx 10208, it is a 1/10 rc car. Which differential and shock absorber oil would you recommend. and would a 3650 motor fit in?
If the esc is held down by double side tape and a zip tie then yes they sometimes handle 3s. If the esc is held down with 3 screws then no do not run 3s.
So basic normally means a brushed motor and Pro is the brushless motor version. If you have a basic brushed version don't attempt 3s, it will burn! The pro brushless version with 3 plastic tabs on the sides of the 2in1 board sometimes survive 3s, if your 2in1 has NO tabs it should run 3s no problems.
@@rccrazy I have a model like the one in the video with a brushless motor. It is all original, I have not changed the ESC, will it last 3 seconds without modification?
As I said if the 2in1(esc) has 3 tabs and screws to mount it to the chassis then most likely no it won't last on 3s. If the 2in1(esc) has no tabs and is held down with double side tape then yes it should run on 3s.
Got mine from banggood - worked for 5mins although the steering was way off. Then nothing - so am looking to change the esc/receiver. Any budget recommendations? Cheers 🤙
So you'll need a controller aswell so only one option for a budget radio in my opinion that being a DumboRC X6FG radio. And most 35a or 45a esc should fit, I don't recommend or use budget escs sorry, quality brains only!
It happens to mine, after one charge, my daughter drive it on lowest speed for an hour and after charger steering was messed up, either not steer at all or steer only in one side. I order new ESC and transmiter and solve the problem. Seller from aliexpress didnt refund me. But still awesome and powerfull buggy i like it.
I said to get 45a as a "to be sure" size, 60a is more than enough but some 60a esc are physical too big for this car. But what you mean by not sure about wire thickness?
@@rccrazy on that 60A that i order wires are much larger so the yellow blue and red plug are to big to connect to original motor. And yes, ESC i physicaly too big to place it under the cover so.
You can't post pictures in the comments section mate. But the difference is one version has 3 screw tabs moulded onto the esc. The cars I purchased came with esc that had no screw tabs at all, they are held down with double sided tape. I do not know where to get replacement ones without the tabs.
I use the SkyRC GSM020 gps meter but I'm not sure what the app is called. I just search SkyRC gps in the google play store and it's usually one of the Top 3 on the list.
I recently got a q117-gantry and the power cuts out at the pull of the trigger on the high speed setting on a 2s lipo and the stock battery any tips on how how the solve this issue?
I'm assuming you have fully re-charged the battery and your still getting a cut-out, maybe try a lipo as the stock ones are li-ion if i remember correctly. Try a high c rated 2s(50c or higher) if your still having issues it may be a faulty esc/2in1 board.
What shocks and 3s battery do you recommend ive looked at a few 3s 850mah but most dont have t deans connectors for this car can you give me a link if possible
I used MJX shocks, they seem to fit the best. And if you can't find a lipo with a deans plug you can buy adapters for basically any battery combination. Otherwise you'll need to change the plugs on either the esc or the lipos via soldering. I assume the lipos you found are mostly xt30 or 60 plugs, I highly recommend changing the esc to xt30 or 60 anyway.
Mine work fine on 3s but they are the 2in1 boards held in by double side tape. If your esc 2in1 board is held in the car by 3 mounting screws DON'T run 3s as it will almost definitely fail.
Won't start? I can't diagnose the issue with zero information. Flat battery, loose wire somewhere, blown esc 2in1 board? A new STOCK esc 2in1 board is a good place to start, that will tell you if your old one is dead/no longer working.
I just got my car yesterday and im noticing that when i put it on High it ends up stopping as if it was getting caught on something but it only happens on the groubd...anyone have a similar experience or can explain? Lovely video btw i love this car
Thank you🙂 If it's happening when you use the stock battery and it's not actually getting stuck on something it could be something faulty in the 2in1 board. It could also be gear problems, if a tooth or 2 are damaged the pieces floating around can lock up the gears. But, if your running 3s it may cut out a few times(not locking up cutting out) When I started using 3s mine did cut a few times but it's been flawless ever since.
@rccrazy yea i saw your original video and the conversion video and that shit is insane how it gained 26km...kinda makes me think about switching myself lol but hmm i see well it is the stock battery so would u recommend switching that first? And i just started driving it so unless it came damaged i havent caused anything yet lol however their was one time i got it to work lol
Don't want to ask a silly question but just incase, you are charging the battery to full charge? If your not it may just be going into lvc (low voltage cut-off) Yeah try a good quality 2s lipo, maybe 40c or more and see how that goes. I do also highly recommend if you haven't got one already, get yourself a proper balance charger, doesn't have to be super expensive but something better than the usb chargers that most of these cheaper cars come with. Then you can charge 2s upto 6s lipos aswell👌
No that won't cause locking up if that's what you mean. That and the front bumper are just added protection, I do it to all my cars if they are available for them.
@@rccrazy yes sir that one. since the servo has a separate mount right? so I would just find one with the right size, remove the mounting points and it's done?
Yes they have a little holder that kind of clamps the servo to the chassis👌 I think the JX 1181MG servo is the correct dimensions and they are GREAT little servos! Should be easy to find just Google JX1181MG servo.
Well yes basically any 4wd RC with enough power can perform flips and stuff, but you still have to control it so you don't crash too bad, LOTS OF PRACTICE.
Not sure sorry but c rating won't really give you faster speeds in my experience, why not just go straight to 3s? These cars run on 3s stock without issue
Yes 100% fine and safe to run 100c 3s straight out if the box. Lipos are NOT dangerous despite their reputation, if you mistreat them then yes they can become somewhat unsafe to keep but you will know when a lipo should be discarded and replaced.
hi bro i need your help. My car is q117 turns but don't go forward or back and when I start the car the chinese sound is no more. Just the lights flashing
@Fly-ij1og it's a quick way of saying how many cells are in a battery. Each cell is classed as 3.7volts at normal voltage (4.2volts at full charge) You multiple 3.7v depending on the cell count of the lipo. So a 2s lipo is 2 x 3.7 = 7.4 volts 3 x 3.7 = 11.1 volts 4 x 3.7 = 14.8 volts and so on.
It actually got quite a bit more on 3s, I think a VERY high quality and high C rated 2s would get it close to 70kph. 3s run👇 ua-cam.com/video/hnrCg5WIuJw/v-deo.html
I have this car and my controller does not work, it turns on like it is supposed to but does not connect to the car even when they are both turned on can anybody help pls?
Seems a few people are having the same issues, I've not found how to fix it. I would recommend replacing the 2in1 board and controller with a Dumborc controller and receiver and a separate 40a or 50a esc, you can keep using the stock motor and servo, it should all be plug and play. But it will also allow you to use that one controller for as many cars and/or boats as you want, just buy and bind/pair more dumborc receivers to that controller, cheapest and best option in my opinion especially if you plan on buying more RCs👌
They don't all run on 3s no, MANY people have blown them, overheated them and even flames according to one viewer I think all cases have been the escs with 3 screw tabs moulded to the esc box. I've never heard of one without tabs blowing on 3s. And oil shocks are not for speed they are for stability.

The motor 2847-4000kv i must say is extremely under rated! Bc I put the same motor in my new rlarrlo terminator instead of the 3650-2650kv and it out performs in speed and In torque. I'll never understand why people get these 6s or higher esc and batterys for motors that cost more and deliver less
Got nothing to do with the voltage in your case if your running the same voltage on both motors it's the KV, you increase the KV by more than 1000kv of course it'll be faster. A 3650 4000kv would smash a 2847 4000kv motor.
@@rccrazy I agree. What doesn't make sense to me is my 2847-4000kv can go 55mph all day on a simple 3s. Do a 120c 3s and I hoped mine out at 68mph. The people who spend hundreds of dollars on a 6s-12s battery for a 1200kv motor and yet we're getting those results with way less is what I wa saying
@JesseBlum that's a pretty silly set-up, 1200kv and 6-12s🤔 Not point with a car like this but a limitless or something yes definitely, that in a limitless would easily achieve 100mph on the correct gearing. These cars though are not ment to do 100kph so anywhere close is an achievement. Sorry mate but I can't see you getting 68mph on 3s with this car, 4s maybe but just changing the esc can not give you that much extra speed.
Look for an hour for a review like this. You just made me pull the trigger on buying one. Thanks for the video!!
Awesome!😃
I am happy to hear I could help you make a decision, perfect car for the cost👌
How is holding up the car??
@@BASSstarlet so far still good!
Yes both mine are still going strong, insane night bash video with the buggy and some other cars coming soon💪
JJRC make drones so it is reasonable to imagine how they can make a durable car, those drones crash pretty hard when they do
I guess you could look at it that way yeah, some drones are very tough
A buddy of mine bought this and at first I kinda giggled at it but then I saw it go and wow! Fast!
Good video. Nice bash session. It does really seem quite silly for company to stay with friction shocks when they upgrade to brushless at the factory.
Spot on!
Chuck all the upgrades on it call it a pro but install friction shocks.
It couldn't cost much more🤔
It is a fun car though.
Thanks as always Tim, have a good Christmas mate🎄🙂
@@rccrazy You have a good Christmas also. Going to get some snow today, about 1-3 inches and drop down to around -6° f tonight into tomorrow morning.
Oh nice, well if you like the snow😅
I've never seen the snow but definitely want to!
Friction shocks is why I haven't bought this thing yet.
I know how you feel but seriously you will miss out on a great experience if you don't try one.
It's still cheap compared to probably all other brushless options even after buying upgrade shocks for it.
The channel 3 button on the transmitter does have a function. You can toggle the led lights with it. Atleast on the one I bought.
Yes some cars incorporate the 3rd channel but not all
You are correct actually🤦
I just plugged mine in and the 3rd channel does allow you to change the light function.
You would definitely be helping the hobby big time then👌
Not brushless I dont think but I have seen some of the 1/12 HBX cars, not 100% sure it's the one you mean, so many around these days it's extremely hard to keep up😅
I like the MJX chassis being based around the HBX but if you watch my first MJX vid you'll see I didn't have the greatest outcome, a driveshaft broke after maybe 7 tiny jumps (brushed version) and there was no parts available at the time😕
I'll have to get that back out now I got parts.
Seriously Very Nice Review, It Consist Each And Every Single Detail About The Rc Car, Hats Of To Your Efforts 😊
Thank you very much!
Glad to know it was somewhat informative, I do get a little forgetful sometimes😅
@@rccrazyNice review,is this the same as SCY/suchiyo 16102?
Thank you!
Yes same car👌
excellent review, i have a question, where i can get spare parts for this model, bought my on temu
Thank you, and thanks for watching👍
I think spare parts are available on Aliexpress and possibly Banggood.
Try searching for JJRC and Su Chi Yu parts, they are compatible👌
Ali express is truly easy to get parts now
Nice video bro, I just bought this orange rc car but still waiting from china.. I can't wait to play, I hope my friend is always healthy.. I'm from Malaysia 🇲🇾
Very cool😁
I'm glad many people are trying these cars because they are so good for the price🤩
Thanks mate, from Melbourne Australia 🇦🇺
@@rccrazyGreat friend, I like that you have content showing rc cars and I have followed 👌🏼🤩
@@rccrazywhere did you buy the spares for the car?
I think it was Aliexpress, I think it's easier to find them if you search SCY parts, don't search "JJRC parts"
Which wheels do you recommend?
That is fast little R/C car .
Definitely a good speed for 1/16👌
Thanks for checking it out mate👍
Now that was a proper test
Greatest review i found. Thanks
Is the RC frequency configurable? I wanna have 2 of those and don´t want to interfere with each other.
Thank you!
If you have 2 of them you can run them both at the same time yes, you would probably have to turn one on first let it connect to it's controller then do the second one, shouldn't have any issues👍
Great bash with that little ripper‼️👍👍🦾🦾
Thanks Dome😁
It's a very fun little car this one👌
JJRC cool Drohnen and Cars. Can you use a 3S lipo battery with this model without it breaking? Thanks, I ordered it in pink, hope it arrives soon, wait 14 days. Really cool video.
Yes definitely a good cheap brand to choose👌
If the esc box has 3 x tabs mounting it to the car it is less likely to survive 3s.
None of mine have tabs on the esc they are just stuck down with double side tape.
Thank you for watching.
Out of the 1/16 brushless cars (HBX, MJX, Hosim and all the other variants) I've seen, this is the fastest.
On 2s lipo
HBX 16889 - 39km/h
MJX - 49km/h
SCY - 55km/h
The only issue is the parts. 3s wears out the metal gear on my HBX so I wonder how the parts on this will fair if you use 3s
I don't want to spoil the results if you wanted to watch the 3s test vid so here is the link
ua-cam.com/video/mt6DDve-sQk/v-deo.html
It is fast though and reasonably strong components.
But HBX/Eachine have by far the strongest parts, even the Eachine plastic drivetrain lasted longer than ALL 1/16 cars iv tested on 3s, insane skate Park bashing with my Eachine EC30 with all plastic drivetrain and all I broke was 1 plastic driveshaft🤯
That was after multiple very hard bashes with it!
Saw the vid. 81 is impressive.
I got 86km on the HBX but I changed the motor to a 5900kv 2845 using the same wheels as the JJRC/SCY.
The gearing on that car is built for speed. Let's hope it holds to your 3s bash cause on the HBX they don't last if you bash it (rear bevel gear only)
Oh and one other thing I like about the tyres is that they don't balloon as bad as others.
Okies cool, look forward to that 4s run and thanks for replying as well 🙃
Yes I enjoy that colab challenge, was great fun😁
130kph is impressive on any platform really, but yes 144s and 124s are exceptionally smooth for speedruns once set-up correctly👌
And you are very welcome😉
Thank you heaps mate!
I'm glad you picked this one for you son, they are great cars for the price!
It depends what the car will be used for but you can run whatever shocks you want upto 65mm.
Any longer and the driveshafts bind up in the outdrives/drive cups.
I use wltoys 65mm shocks front and rear with 30w oil all around👌
@@rccrazyThanks for your help, I'm going to change them then, thank you very much.
Thanks mate!
Which shock absorbers set would you recommend me to upgrade?
I'm just using wltoys 144001 shocks, they do a good job but they are a TINY bit to long so the chassis can't bottom out.
If your not doing huge jumps it's fine, if you are jumping a lot then try MJX hyper go shocks, they are shorter.
Any grease in the diffs? Thanks for the video, just ordered one
I did not check the diffs before driving but it feels like they don't have any oil or grease in them.
A bit extra diff oil or grease will definitely help👌
Can I put a LiPo battery without any modifications? Thanks!
Yes you just have to make sure they are the correct size for the battery bay/tray.
Most generic 1500mah 2s lipos will fit and upto 850mah 3s lipos.
@@rccrazy Thank you very much, friend! ^^
You are very welcome🙂
Is there any problem when you insert the battery and turn on
Not quite sure what you mean but no I didn't experience any problems, on 3s it cut out for a second but worked fine after that.
Great vid! Did you notice any throttle delay or that the car brakes very hard when you release the throttle?
Thanks mate👍
No I didn't notice anything like that with either the truggy or the buggy
@@rccrazycan I take this car to the water is it water proof?

Yes they are definitely fast enough to have plenty of fun👌
nice, its is possible to drive it slowly? i eman very slowy to cross some obstacles ?
If you mean like a crawler then I don't think so.
You would have to lock the diffs, change the wheels and probably put different shocks on it.
It's definitely for jumps and fast driving.
Just ordered this what kind of spare battery do or need and where can I get one as I'd like a few spares
You can buy whatever brand you want, just match the measurements so it fits in the battery bay and has the same plug, so just search 1500mah 2s lipo with Dean's plugs.
You can also use 3s lipos for more speed, I use 850mah 3s lipos.

is it as good as HBX 16889a?
It's great but I personally prefer the Eachine EC30 or HBX 16889.
I would say the Eachine and HBX are stronger but not by much.
Do you need to buy the battery charger separately??
No it comes with a basic usb charger, it's a bit slow but it charges the battery.
One question does it hit the floor hard with its under?
It does but that's what RCs are supposed to do so you don't damage every other part.
Shocks in particular are at massive risk of damage if the car can not bottom out.
@@rccrazy huh... yeah i can see that rn i bought one and i jumped etc. and it has a lot of scrappin on the bottom. thanks for the answer i was really worried that it could damage it!

did it not bend the drive shaft with the jumps? mine is shaking a lot after just a few jumps.
This was a VERY calm bash compared to the next few videos I uploaded with this car, but no my shafts did not bend they are still straight
Amazing video mate!, what would be the best batteries to put in this rc car to make it go the fastest ?.

It’s fun. Got it on Temu but it’s to fast to turn and steer
ST.D/R on the controller is steering rates, turn that down a bit, it will slow and reduce the steering
@@rccrazyare their(mjx)diff gear easy to break compare to hbx?
@mzmhrc1274 I 100% believe the HBX diffs and other parts are made from better steel or materials than the MJX but the HBX is much lighter so that could be the main reason why HBX seems better and stronger🤷
Does it come with battery and charger? Was in RC for a lomg time but got rid of all my goodies.

Hello, a question, how many minutes of use does the 3s 850mah 100c battery last for this car? ? approximately I look forward to your comments, greetings friend.
Between 10 and 15 minutes depending on your driving style
Hello again 🙏 Can you recommend me any good tires from this in aliexpress? Can i put little bigger tires in this...i say 85-90mm/ high. I think default is 80mm...thanks again.
You can put basically any wheels on it but too big and you start stressing out all the components like diffs, shocks, arms and in some cases I've snapped driveshafts become of binding in the diff cups due to the chassis not being able to take the force/stress.
I use the original MJX Hyper GO wheels and they seem to do a good job.
Hi
I'm having problems with mine.
I just bought a car similar to this. What’s a good replacement battery with a preference toward battery life? TIA!
More mah = more runtime.
Unless you mean actual life, how many charges it will get, that I can not answer😅
I would imagine you would be limited to probably 2000mah 2s max and 1000mah 3s max if you want to keep them in the battery bay.
Ha! I definitely meant runtime. Thanks!
Any specific brands you like?
@13racecar31 I really like CNHL lipos for good run time, great lipos in general👌

I know the buggy version runs 3s no issues
ua-cam.com/video/AizjipvJ7_k/v-deo.html
But the truggy having a larger motor and larger wheels it will pull more amps possibly blowing the esc combo.
Best I could do for you is put the bigger motor in and the truggy wheels on the buggy because the truggy is a spare parts car now😅
Would that be ok?

Yeah the buggy has the same 35a esc that's why I said I could just swap the motor over and the wheels and its literally exactly the same just a different shell.

I swapped out my metal servo from my wltoys modified buggy..perfect fit..alls good now..thanks
Looks alright mate!
It is a sweet little truggy, the steering knuckles though😖
Thanks for watching mate👍
Ever figure out where to get parts I have one and my so. Has already broke it.. looking for some parts..
Aliexpress👌
Search JJRC and if you still can't find anything try searching for SuChiYu parts
Where did u get the knuckles for the upgrade
Oh it came from one of my spare cars.
The parts are available online👌
Hello, what is the lenghth of the schoks please ?
About 60-65mm
How do you unlock 50mph when out the box goes 37 mph thank you
The system is 3s or 11.1v compatible.
You need a 3s lipo battery, I got 56mph completely stock out of the box just by swapping to 3s👌
Try between 650mah and 800mah, most fit easily.
Thanks . I made mistake and ordered a
2200mah 50c zeees battery will this work I had got it for my hyper go rc but will it work in a 16102 car thanks
No 2200mah is far too long for these cars.
Only downside, the battery bay is so small, it does keeps the car light weight though👌
I think 850mah is going to be max for these cars.
@@rccrazy Brother! Are you worried about the battery compartment or is 2200 50C 3S too much for a 35A regulator??? I was going to order 2200 50c 3s... Have you tried only 800mah? Can I have 1500mah?
Some 1500mah 3s lipos might fit but from what I've seen 1000mah 3s is about maximum that will fit in the battery compartment.
hello, what viscosity oil would be best for the rc car? which one for the front differential cst and for the rear one? and which cst for the dampers?
Hi 👋
For 1/16 cars I would use 400-600cst in the shocks but the stock shocks are not oil filled!
Personally I would use 50k oil for the front diff and 30k oil for the rear.
@@rccrazy ok thanks!
@@rccrazyHello again, I wanted to get the mjx 10208, it is a 1/10 rc car. Which differential and shock absorber oil would you recommend. and would a 3650 motor fit in?
@LyPo663 I'm not sure sorry, I have not got that car
@@rccrazy ok but for a 4wd 1/10 monster truck rc car which dif oil? and which shock absorber oil would you recommend
What app is that to record the speed?
It's the SkyRC app for the SkyRC GSM020 gps module.
Can you use a 3s with it?
If the esc is held down by double side tape and a zip tie then yes they sometimes handle 3s.
If the esc is held down with 3 screws then no do not run 3s.
How long does the battery last.?
Between 15-30mins depending on your driving style.
Can 3s lipo batteries be connected to the basic model 16101 pro? Won't it burn?
@@rccrazy i did buy 60A just to be sure but than again i didnt count about wire thickness so i did have to order new one 😂🤣😂
Hi There, so can send me a pic of how the stock ESC should be (not the 2 in 1) so that I can use 3s?
The stock esc is the 2in1 board.
Don't understand sorry.
@@rccrazy can u show me a pic of how the stock ESC should be which can handle 3s please?
Mostly are moulded being held by 3 screws
You can't post pictures in the comments section mate.
But the difference is one version has 3 screw tabs moulded onto the esc.
The cars I purchased came with esc that had no screw tabs at all, they are held down with double sided tape.
I do not know where to get replacement ones without the tabs.
do you have an email please I send the pic?
thanks to you I would have just bought a 3s battery with everything stock and burn it
Yes email is saulaldridge@yahoo.com
Or Facebook Messenger is
RC Crazy if you can find it.
What app you use to check speed?
I use the SkyRC GSM020 gps meter but I'm not sure what the app is called.
I just search SkyRC gps in the google play store and it's usually one of the Top 3 on the list.
how i watch the speed in the cell phone?
Ahhhh look at the screen!
What do you mean?
Hello friend! I'll put oil shoks on it. Which cst do you recommend? Hug from Brazil! 🇧🇷
Sorry for the late reply.
The shocks are off wltoys 144 and MJX Hyper Go, both have stock oil
@@rccrazy do you know which cst oil are in the shoks?
@@rccrazy I will put the same 144 shoks, but I don't know which cst oil to put.
Not exactly but I would personally use 30w or between 400 and 500cst.
@@rccrazy Thank you very much, I will do this.
so.. the 2s is in the package or do you use ur own 2s?
The car comes with a 2s
@@rccrazy Thx
From where did you purchased it please tell me
I got mine from ebay Australia, link is in the description.
They are available elsewhere though, Aliexpress stock them I think.
Oh apologies, I think you ment you tried a 2s lipo aswell as the stock li-ion with same results.
It looks like a tiny kraton with that wing 😁
Yeah im pretty sure they would've got their inspiration from the kraton😅
What is the motor? How many kv
Stock motor so 2847 4000kv
Anyone upgrade the shocks, any recommendations
Wltoys 144001 shock with 30w shock oil is what I use
What shocks and 3s battery do you recommend ive looked at a few 3s 850mah but most dont have t deans connectors for this car can you give me a link if possible
I used MJX shocks, they seem to fit the best.
And if you can't find a lipo with a deans plug you can buy adapters for basically any battery combination.
Otherwise you'll need to change the plugs on either the esc or the lipos via soldering.
I assume the lipos you found are mostly xt30 or 60 plugs, I highly recommend changing the esc to xt30 or 60 anyway.
did your 3s battery work well with this car? i have the same one?
Mine work fine on 3s but they are the 2in1 boards held in by double side tape.
If your esc 2in1 board is held in the car by 3 mounting screws DON'T run 3s as it will almost definitely fail.
I have the same car but it won't start 😢can you help me
Won't start?
I can't diagnose the issue with zero information.
Flat battery, loose wire somewhere, blown esc 2in1 board?
A new STOCK esc 2in1 board is a good place to start, that will tell you if your old one is dead/no longer working.
I just got my car yesterday and im noticing that when i put it on High it ends up stopping as if it was getting caught on something but it only happens on the groubd...anyone have a similar experience or can explain? Lovely video btw i love this car
Thank you🙂
If it's happening when you use the stock battery and it's not actually getting stuck on something it could be something faulty in the 2in1 board.
It could also be gear problems, if a tooth or 2 are damaged the pieces floating around can lock up the gears.
But, if your running 3s it may cut out a few times(not locking up cutting out)
When I started using 3s mine did cut a few times but it's been flawless ever since.
@rccrazy oh yea I forgot to mention mines didnt come with the wheelie bar attached...im actually going to install it today to see if thats the problem
Don't want to ask a silly question but just incase, you are charging the battery to full charge?
If your not it may just be going into lvc (low voltage cut-off)
Yeah try a good quality 2s lipo, maybe 40c or more and see how that goes.
How do you upgrade the servo? I've searched far and wide and yet there is no servo that has no latches on it
Latches?
Do mean the mounting points for the servo?
If so then just cut them off, snap them off, it's just a couple of plastic tabs.
@@rccrazy yes sir that one. since the servo has a separate mount right? so I would just find one with the right size, remove the mounting points and it's done?
Yes they have a little holder that kind of clamps the servo to the chassis👌
I think the JX 1181MG servo is the correct dimensions and they are GREAT little servos!
Should be easy to find just Google JX1181MG servo.
I got you. Thank you for the info sir. You're the man! 🍻🍻@@rccrazy

Yeah more batteries more fun🤪
And yes that the only thing that I don't like about most of these smaller or cheaper cars, friction shocks😱😅
Can you really do stunts with it? I also have one, but I don't dare ride it at the skater place
Well yes basically any 4wd RC with enough power can perform flips and stuff, but you still have to control it so you don't crash too bad, LOTS OF PRACTICE.
What is speed program name?
You mean the Bluetooth GPS name?
SkyRC GSM020

What was the C on the 2s lipo? I want to get a 100c 2s lipo
Not sure sorry but c rating won't really give you faster speeds in my experience, why not just go straight to 3s?
These cars run on 3s stock without issue
@rccrazy what's the highest C rating on 3s I could go to for this rc?
I run 850mah 100c 3s lipos, these little cars are very capable👌
@rccrazy you can run that straight out the box? No esc upgrades? Last question but is it safe enough to run 100c 3s or will it overheat stock

3S battery burned esc The temperature rose very high without fans
I assume your esc has 3 tabs with screws that hold it to the car, yes?
Only the ones without the tabs run 3s without overheating or blowing up.
How fast it go
Well the speeds are in the video but anyway😅 55kph on 2s lipo
@rccrazy that's pretty fast frfr
This video has the 3s run with the stock system, 80kph + if I remember correctly.
ua-cam.com/video/hnrCg5WIuJw/v-deo.html
@@rccrazy what's a 3s
@Fly-ij1og it's a quick way of saying how many cells are in a battery.
Each cell is classed as 3.7volts at normal voltage (4.2volts at full charge)
You multiple 3.7v depending on the cell count of the lipo.
So a 2s lipo is 2 x 3.7 = 7.4 volts
3 x 3.7 = 11.1 volts
4 x 3.7 = 14.8 volts and so on.
That 70 kmh is probably with a 3s battery
It actually got quite a bit more on 3s, I think a VERY high quality and high C rated 2s would get it close to 70kph.
3s run👇

You can run 3s 45c through the brushless vs of this truggy np then it'll do 50mph suggest oil shocks regardless
This is not hard to find parts on hobbex😊
I get all my parts from local suppliers, ebay Australia or Aliexpress but this may help others👍
it can infact do 3s ...80kph
Yes I know, I have many videos of this car after this video

Not point with a car like this but a limitless or something yes definitely, that in a limitless would easily achieve 100mph on the correct gearing.
These cars though are not ment to do 100kph so anywhere close is an achievement.
Sorry mate but I can't see you getting 68mph on 3s with this car, 4s maybe but just changing the esc can not give you that much extra speed.
