Thanks for the wheel weight idea. We have a BCS and it really needs more weight when we are tilling. Might have to try that idea. We have a plow like that too but pull it with our pickup. Need more traction
Not really...It's a heavy clay-base, with years of compost/amendments added to it...but let me tell you, it's still clay! When it's too dry or too wet, it's awful!
The longer weight hangers. Although, the amount of weight you can get on either post length depends on the rim size of the wheel...the 12" rim wheels have more space INSIDE the rims, so you can get larger diameter weight-plates in there and build up the weight faster. I was digging in 3rd gear on the 850 tractor (same as 3rd on an 852 or 853). More forward velocity usually helps bust through the soil better. 2nd gear would be minimum speed...
Sorry for the delayed reply...I don't get to check the comments too often. These are the 10" posts. I run in 3rd gear typically...I find that the forward "momentum" actually helps.
I agree, better wheels would work better. I have these ATV tires on there for mowing, which is what I mostly do with the tractor...but they still do a decent job.

A good harvest....and the potato digger too !
Nice job Joel!
Oh how i need one of those tractors!
Nice spud harvert too!
Joel, can you use the same system to dig up sweet potatoes?
how many potatoes did it mash crush or cut? %%???
Think about seater behind the wheel, it gives your own additional weight.
beautiful soil

Were you running the 8" or 10" weight hangers? Thanks for the video. Great to see what the digger can do. Also what gear were you in?

а не проще грунтозацепы поставить?
sweet, its a bastard to dig on the back
You should put some real wheels like they build in Russia an you will not spin a wheel.you tube is full of them.
