Love the insight Nick brings to these by being the old man that lived through these movies. Also fun fact there’s an amazing deleted scene that Linda Hamilton’s twin sister was in as well, a technically difficult scene
The Terminator and T2 were the Star Wars and Empire Strikes Back for my generation. The Terminator is possibly the greatest "B-movie" ever made. By that i mean, it is the greatest low-budget sci-fi ever produced. The Terminator is a great inspiration for future filmmakers. Cameron showed us what can be possible on a small budget and its freaking amazing. T2 on the other hand is the greatest action movie ever made. Cameron showed us whats possible once youve established yourself in the industry. And its freaking phenomenal.
1:10:06 The Director's cut contains a scene where John instructs the T-800 to learn how to smile and he analyzes a man nearby and then practices this terrible looking smile you've probably seen in a meme somewhere. The mini gun smile is the T-800 perfecting it lol.
Man I remember going to T2 in the theatre as a 14 year old with my father. What a ride. When the opening credits started with the burning playground, the incredible foreboding theme leading to the endoskeleton emerging from the flames with the crescendoing ' da da da da da', you knew you were watching some next level shit at the time. That gives me chills everytime I watch it, 28 years later. A sci-fi cinema classic if there ever was.
The jump into the river on the motorcycle did look much worse in the past, Greg. It used to look like an obvious stunt double. That is one of the few George Lucas style changes Cameron has made to this film since its original release.
For me this is the best action movie I've ever seen. Havnt seen it in over 10 years and it still holds up, I love that they made young john connor into bart simpson
@@flounder I've tried and tried to enjoy Bladerunner 1&2 but I just couldn't it was so boring imo I was falling asleep practically watching the new one. I do love the world and look but it was slow and boring for me. Id rather have the 12 alien/predator movies over those two
You guys REALLY should have watched the Director’s Cut, which goes into detail about how and why the T-800 is becoming more human (they switch his chip to read/write) and why the T-1000 “gets mad” at the end (shows him malfunctioning).
The thumbs up was a callback to the scene before Sarahs nuclear nightmare. John literally shows him what a thumbs up is all about. Its very special between them.
I have the exact same experience as barrett. I was born in 94 and watched 1 and 2 in one sitting in like 2003 (my family was prepping for t3) without knowing the twist. Holy fucking shit. Blew my mind.
Wait is Kevin said the other movies aren’t canon but is that really true? Aren’t they just branching timelines? Which wouldn’t make them not canon, just not the prime timeline.
People complain about the X-Men universe, but the Terminator timelines are way more fucked up. I think most just give it a pass because time-travel is an integral part of the story.
You can never tell what is and isn't cannon when time travel is involved. That's why tim makes a point to say they're only doing the ones Cameron had a hand in making
Gonna post a bunch of seperate comments as I follow along, mostly because it's too hard to try and remember every counter point I want to make after a 110 minute long review. Andy, Tim, news channels spoiled T2 before it was released, it was widely known that Arnold was going to be a good guy this time in the movie. I remember the news clip, it was showing a clip from T1 during the tunnel car chase scene.
Yep,it was well publicized pre-release that Arnie was the good guy. I was well into the hype of this movie and I specifically remember Entertainment tonight reporting how Arnold was the protector in this one and an underdog against the T-1000. Though thinking about it now in retrospect, it would have been one hell of a twist if they kept the lid on it and had the movie play out at first like Arnie was gonna be the bad guy, until the point that he revealed his true mission.
I agree with Greg. T1 delivers a more memorable Terminator with the screen time given to Arnie other than just hunting scenes which we get with the T-1000, Reese and Sarah have a more explored relationship than John and T-800 & better chemistry and the horror theme over action gives the movie more weight to the story
Judgement used to be the proper spelling. But when news papers became common the spelling of words changed because most news papers would charge by the letter. So most people removed letters they felt weren't absolutely necessary. Gotta save that money.
Inflation, obviously. I would give you the numbers... but BoxOfficeMojo just committed one of the worst website suicide's I've ever seen, so no numbers to give anymore.
I stand with Barrett on the 4 y/o memory thing. Bro, I remember being carried into the theater for Sam Raimi’s Spider-Man when I was 3 and I can physically describe the usher and what seat I sat in for the sequel when I was 5. Great movie moments stick with you no matter what age you are.
How old are you now? 16? 4 was what, 12 years ago? When you get to Greg and Nick's age.... remembering those toddler years becomes harder and harder, no matter that moment.
I think Barrett is right and it's entirely possible to remember watching a movie at 4. I remember watching Spirited Away when I was four and I remembered that movie for years but it was so confusing I thought it was a dream until I discovered that Spirited Away was an actual movie
I understand the logic bit why not just watch every Terminator movie? Isn't it all cannon anyways. Regardless if the movies are bad or not we want to watch along and see you guys trash it for an hour I mean its entertaining.
Lmao! I love how Greg calls out Barrett for loving this movie at 4 years old. We get it dude... you’re super cool and know so much about all the movies on in review.
I watched this movie when I was 4 years old in 1992. Since then I've watched this movie at minimum 10000 times , I know it inside and out every scene dialog bts info and deleted scenes, and so watching this I'm disappointed in the review with the Tim facts, Greg fucking up the movie time line, nicks needing explanation with certain things. Surprisingly this is the first time I didn't hate on kevin and hated on everyone else. Btw Tim this movie is almost 30 years old, everyone knows Vader is Luke's father, if she didn't know Arnie wasn't good in the first one? That's on her.
Actually stand with Barrett on the 4 year old memory thing. My earliest memories are when I was 4 (2 months from 5) on a cruise with my parents and I can tell what happened on the trip accurately. It's very weird lol. All of my memories start from there
5 nerds put their terminator beer goggles on and ignore the fact the T-1000 has zero computer chips or processors cuz the effects are SOOO COOOLLL. Advanced tech beyond the T-800 by hundreds of years but lets ignore that.

That "bad to the bone" scene is badass.

Ever since last weeks Terminator in review, whenever there's a quiet moment I start singing 'seven syllables in the middle...' 😂
For me this is the best action movie I've ever seen. Havnt seen it in over 10 years and it still holds up, I love that they made young john connor into bart simpson
Same here. For me, T2 is the Citizen Kane of the action genre. And Aliens is the greatest sci-fi ever made
When are the KF crew gonna do the Alien VS Predator Extended Universe In-Review? :(

I highly recommend watching the director's cut! Easily one of the best extended versions of a film ever!

Robert Patrick may not be Doogie's Dad, but Patrick's brother is the lead singer of the band Filter and was in early NIN.
How am I just learning this now? Love Filter, but I've never noticed the resemblance between Richard & Robert before...

2 hrs of talking about how goofy T3 was would be fine quality entertainment.
Agreed!
I kinda wish they'd watch all the terminators now
The thumbs up was a callback to the scene before Sarahs nuclear nightmare. John literally shows him what a thumbs up is all about. Its very special between them.
I've watched this video about 5 times now and I still laugh like crazy lol.

James Cameron said he cg'd Arnold's head on the stunt double that jumped down with the bike in the chase in the 4k edition of the movie..
6:34 wrong Grey, cause I watched it when I was 4 too! And this was one of the coolest films I had seen then
1:20:39
That INTRO GRAPHIC though.....
I definitely googled Neil Patrick Harris dad lol
i love how there was the lifesize t800 by sideshow ad was before this lol
I genuinely wish you were doing rise of the machines, salvation, and genisys. Those movies are terrible and therefore will make great content
11:37 Greg will save the plot
Oh

Greg confirmed has no idea how surnames work.

Question, best sequel? Terminator 2, Aliens, Empire Strikes Back?
The Dark Knight
Terminator 2 is honestly one of the best movies I’ve ever witnessed with my eyeballs it’s neck and neck with Jurassic park cheers.
It's above average
@@BluEx22329 Above average? No, it's one of the greatest films EVER. That is a FACT.
@@BluEx22329 No, it's a masterpiece.
The T-1000 had to be the floor because it needs to touch the person it copies. I think they explain that.
Glad I read through the comments because I was going to say this!
Hey Kev, love ya. Best Sequel ever made is Aliens though. :D
Thanks for the show :)

Should have done the special edition.
The endless scenarios I would think about trying to survive living in this film haunt me.
I really wish you guys would review Terminator 3 too, such an underrated movie.
They really lucked out that the star of the previous one has a twin
holy shit andy, great job on the intro
I think it’s funny that the second highest grossing Arnold movie is terminator 3
Inflation, obviously. I would give you the numbers... but BoxOfficeMojo just committed one of the worst website suicide's I've ever seen, so no numbers to give anymore.
😂 they said the sound design was bad but the rest of the review they praise all of their fav parts lol
The hims link took me to viagra not hair loss stuff wtf
THE FIRST ONE IS A SCI-HORRO MOVIE THE SECOND ONE IS SCI-ACTION . IT DEPENDS WHICH MOOD I AM IN AS TO WHICH ONE IS BETTER. I WOULD CALL THEM EQUAL
