@@jasonspalmparadise it sure is, unfortunately this storm and then the cold last week has probably taken its toll on what I've got. Your arid bed, is it all just horticultural grit or is there soil in there too?
@@kris662 there is about 2 inch of gravel then soil. My soil is really stoney and well drained so I can get away with putting arid plants in it without improving the drainage.
Nice list, I like it. Red Acer is a great looking tree. I like waggys but I don't have one (yet). Glad to see someone else likes the mahonia soft caress 👏
Don't worry your tetrapanax will pup. All over the garden if it's anything like mine. For me it's a pain in the arse. I must have removed about 40 pups last year. They pop up everywhere.
Wow that's a lot of pups, you should be selling them you could make a fortune 🤑💰 I will see it mine does pup this year maybe I have the only one in the world that doesn't pup 🤔
Thank you for sharing beautiful and amazing plants
No problem. Thanks for watching 😊
Plant Factory! I have some I am going to be splitting shorty :-) Great vid
Thanks 👍 nothing beats free plants 🌴
Thanks for the video, I've started last year. I've got a few of what your named and can't wait to get more this year
It's exciting when you first get started, spring will be here soon.

Happy to reach your channel! Have you tried copper antennas on your plants? I guess you should give it a try! I have tried it on my own and it works!
Happy to have you here! 😊 I have not tried that before, what does it do?
Great selection. My 10 for what it's worth
1. Basjoo
2. Fatsia standard
3. Red acer
4. Fortunei
5. Waggy
6. Butia odorata
7. Rostrata
8. Yucca linearis
9. Chaemarops humilis standard
10. Soft caress mahonia

@jasonsyorkshiretropics Red acer gives a nice contrast. I've got a 6ft one next to my musa basjoo and trachy manipur👍
Both great lists! I like soft caress’ cousin, mahonia sweet winter. Yucca linearis is also on my 2024 wish list
And 100% yes to the inclusion of acers. I have a red one amongst a sea of green. Waggles are also so reliable and strong.
@@tropiclaud sweet winter look nice exotic plants and in spring there is nothing better than an Acer coming into leaf
Good selection..the only other one i could think of would be a schefflera..
My macrophylla is still only young so I haven't seen it growing properly yet. I'm on the look out for a Taiwaniana

Hi mate, how did you propagate the melianthus? Basal cuttings? Cheers!
Hi, I just took a cutting it took really easy. Also they spread in the ground so you can just dig a clump up
@@jasonspalmparadise Cheers Jason, I’ve got one and was considering buying another but I’ll have a crack at propping first
Hi,
I would also add:
Echium Pininana
Darmera Peltata
Gunnera
Canna
Farfuguim Giganteum
and all ferns :)
Hi, yeah good shout I grow all but farfugium. Need a mild winter to get Echium through, iv lost mine the last 2 years
Tithonia rotundifolia a good stocking filler, alas not perennial
@@christopherjones9826 it is something I need to grow again 👍
