okay but what if y’all planned new generations with the new packs that have come out since 2017, and you can like. make it so that as long as people successfully do at least 10 gen’s/colors, they win the challenge

Actually, me and my friend made one not too long ago. I have it in a docs so I can just paste it down. Hope you like it! (it’s only 5 generations though. Also some of the pack are old, but you don’t need to have all the same traits just ones that fit the challenge).
Generation Eleven: Beige
You grew up with your mom/dad/other telling you that money can’t solve everything and to follow your true goals. Although what are your goals? This question filled your head everyday of your life until you realized how much you love babysitting the neighbors kids! You had one kid, however, you were heartbroken when you found out you couldn’t have more. So the only option left was to adopt!
Traits: Outgoing, Homey, family oriented
Aspiration: Family
Career: Daycare (part time job: babysitter)
Rules:
* 5+ kids
* Has to be a babysitter in her/his teens
* Get to parenting level 10
* Has to get three skills to level five
Generation Twelve: Black
You were independent your whole life, and you never choose to be adopted. Your mom/dad/other tried to get along with you, although you can handle yourself just fine. Later in life you realize you haven’t done anything with your life. You’ve never had a job and always depended on your mom/dad/other. You get into art. Your life is starting to come together until you realize your pregnant.
Traits: Noncommittal,Art lover,gloomy
Aspiration: Academic
Career: Artist
Rules:
* Live with mom/dad/other for most of life
* Doesn’t get along with siblings
* Has to get the single and loving it trait
* Only has one child (you may cheat for this)
* Besides art doesn’t have many skills completed
Generation Thirteen:White
Your mom/dad/other was too strong willed, too independent, and too petty to care for you. You lived life with little money, as you had to pay everything for yourself. So the second you turn into a young adult you move into a small apartment work your way up to your fashion dream. However, you’re not on your own since you end up marrying the nerdy kid you had a crush on in grade school.
Traits: Music lover, Chefs kitchen, Creative
Aspiration: Soulmate
Career: Fashion
Rules:
* Marry in early young adult life
* Moves in early young adult life
* Bad relationship with family
* Complete the knitting skill
* Get to highest level in fashion career
Generation Fourteen: Indigo
You love people, but you might just like pets a little more! Your mom/dad/other got you anything you wanted as child. Including loads of pets! Although you want to explore more than just on land pets. So, you start to love the animals of the ocean!
Trait: child of the ocean, Loves outdoors, Adventurous
Aspiration: Animal Affection
Career: Natural Scientist
Rules:
* Must have 3+ pets
* Complete the pet training skill
* Must know a celebrity
* Must fall in love with a co-worker
Generation Fifteen: Maroon
You always loved to read a good book. You got great grades making you’re siblings envious of you. You were nerdy which caused you to be bullied a lot. So as a teen you joined the drama club in hopes to be a famous actor/actress. In your luck it worked! You become famous and make the bullies wish to be you.
Traits: Bookworm, Geek, Ambitious
Aspiration: Quick learner
Career: Film
Rules:
* Must have a hard time at school
* Must be famous
* Gets all As at school
* Has somewhat bad relationship with siblings
* Completes 3+ skills

Pleeeeease make an official extended version of this challenge with the new packs so that none of the series I’m watching end

Well she's doing two legacys right now, the UA-cam one will take some more time to finish but the one she's playing on Twitch is already on gen 8 (plus that one goes by fast because she plays it for like 3 hours at a time, usually once or twice a week)

Would you consider updating the Not So Berry Challenge? It doesn't include any packs since 2017. It would be good to have different options for each gen. Then you could choose the original or the new version for each one. Also maybe there should be a basegame only option for each gen. You could mix and match. If you're going to re-play the challenge then it would be a great opportunity to update it. I'm doing this challenge at the moment and my yellow gen is just wrapping up.
I actually made a spreadsheet of all the current traits, skills, and aspirations and made an extension of 6 additional generations for myself. Didn't include Strangerville though lol.
Someone made an extra ten generations with newer packs so you could try that out when you reach the end!
@@julia-so5jo do you know who/where? I got a pretty decent amount into 6 gens. I don't have Dream Home though so I didn't include that one (and didn't do the strangerville aspiration cause I just didn't want to)
I agree because I don’t have Get To Work so it would be useful for new players and people that don’t have all 20 billion packs.
I found one updated called Chromatic Legacy Challenge, it has 15 gens! I haven't tried it yet

I love how Simsie made this a starter home for the legacy and then decorated Rose bedroom for a child. Skipping the toddler stuff :P

Maybe it's my mods, or maybe it's my planning ahead from age toddler each gen, but I feel like I have blasted through NSB so far without much issue. I refuse to do it without minimum MCCC though lol that mod helps my story progression/world development so much.
@@jenniferfreese6816 I planned out a story for each of the generations ahead of time, and some people might not like that type of gameplay, but for me it gets me excited for the next gen. Watching Clare Siobhan's series also helps me for inspiration. There's just no other series that is as fun as NSB.
@@bruh1214 I’m a planner. So if I don’t have the next 1-2 generations semi planned out it stresses me out lol. I roll with changes as things happen in game, as long as I’m still hitting the requirements as I go

Challenge idea for Stanley - Can you get rich quick in the Sims 4 from Beach combing?
Of all the collections, I've always thought that the elements was the easiest to complete, especially if your Sim was a scientist. I have my Sims work on the science table called the chemical analyzer that spits out elements. They can get their "breakthroughs" needed for job advancement at the same time. And then there's Sixam... Being a scientist is the way to go if you are trying to complete the elements collection!
Also you can collect a lot of metals and stuff to send to the Geo council on the science career lot. Just spend a weekday collecting all the ores and sending those in and you have almost the entire collection
@@thaqueenofchaos1 Yes! The science career area has so many collection points that it really is an aid to the Collector aspiration over all. It makes it easy to finish that aspiration.
i completed mine when my sim was an elder and i felt like a loser lol
I had my sim complete it in the astronaut career lol, but I also made her collect a lot of rock and fossils
Jungle Adventure also makes it pretty easy once you get high enough in the archaeology skill you can survey the ground and just start digging up crystals and elementa
I never realized that the traits for each gen were chosen by the color of the trait. Mind blown

Since this challenge uses several packs... you shouldn't apologize for using several packs in the build. I've never done the challenge because I still don't have Get To Work...
I don't have get to work either, so I decided to just switch the jobs! For example:
Mint: scientist -> secret agent (and if you go down the double agent path it actually matches much better with mint gen since you have to use your mischief and logic skill!), engineer, tech guru (though gen 9 has this career), any job that involves building/science/brainy stuff
Plum: doctor -> buisness career, lawyer, civil engineer, engineer, basically any "boring" or "soulless" job that the plum generation would get bored of
Peach: detective -> lawyer career, secret agent, education, any career that helps people, since that is sort of the theme of the peach gen in my opinion.
Honestly, the careers are secondary to the gameplay! I've found lots of joy by having my sims just play whatever career I'm most interested in playing.
Just remember, you're supposed to have fun while playing! If you have to modify the rules to have fun, then just do it!
There are also base game versions you can look up online! Other people have adapted it x

Could you do a series of builds for each NSB generation? I’d love to see it, and lots of people have done Minty houses but there are far fewer for the other Generations. Plus, it’d be super cool to have Official Lilsimsie Builds for your own, super popular legacy challenge!
That's so interesting, in my head, mint is like ONLY green, like a pastel cool toned green. A lot of the colors Kayla picks lean more towards turquoise in my head, but that could be from the lack of swatches to choose from in the sims 4 haha
I was looking for a comment like this, because to me this house is definitely teal/turquoise and not mint.

@@Chickennuggieland to be fair, I think mint is portrayed as both almost teal and also pastel green, like in packaging for something mint flavored. She may have the teal mindset instead, which honestly is more helpful when it comes to the sims, because clearly there is a lot of turquoise in the sims hahaha

Make the challenge harder, by having the parents move, with all the stuff, once the next gen becomes an adult. So you have to start over, with no money, no items, but a house shell. Then it’s basically a house shell challenge every gen as well. You cannot remove the original outer wall, but you can add to it. You can use spandrils, to open rooms, but not remove any wall ever, that has been an outer wall😊

been playing NSB for awhile now, i’m on generation yellow!! one of the most fun generation challenges i’ve tried. if there ever was an updated one to include the new packs that would be awesome!!
Love the house. I've been considering starting the not so berry challenge so I'll take this as a sign I should... Wish it were updated for new aspirations and packs... Would love to motivate myself to play a high maintenance sim... Or a vampire lol

my nsb challenge sims are some of my favorite sims ive ever had. the intensity of the challenge leaves me to get so invested in and attatched to them. shoutout to piper mint, you are my best friend

Currently on Orange gen in my Not So Berry and loving the challenge. I love this base home, but would have to swap all the rose stuff out for toddler stuff first and add a tub. Looking forward to watching this on stream!!

The Not so Berry challenge actually inspired me to create my own legacy challenge called the Hughes (hues) legacy challenge that incorporated the PS4 trophies as challenges each generation had to accomplish. I only had base game around the time finding out about this challenge and loved the concept of generational asthetic by colour, sooo thanx for that!

NSB is the only challenge I’ve done/completed in the sims. It took me two years to do and I was sad when I came to the end of it. I decided to start with Gen Blue work backwards to Mint. I enjoy looking back over my posts in IG of it at how the sims changed and still look similar over the gens.
I’d love to see you make another challenge that fits with all of the updated packs and traits.

Also when I made my mint house to keep it in theme I made the child's bedroom mint and red using a rug to tie it in (can't remember which pack sorry). So it started as a nursery mint with red accents, toddler room was pretty even, child red with mint accents, teen just red. I like to think mint did it as a fun thing on a whim and Rose saw it growing up and decided red was their thing (maybe they got fed up with mint everywhere haha)
Really love the current challenge, but still excited for the next challenge :D double win!

A really good series to watch of the NSB is Claire Siobhán’s, she’s just started Peach gen. There is a 135 video playlist in her channel and each episode is around 20-30 minutes long… hours of entertainment!

I just placed this house last night and created my Mint Gen. I hate the mischief aspects of Sims but am definitely going to try and do this challenge. Only thing I changed was the shower, my Sim said it was like being hit with hail 🙄🤣
For like, external office/activity space, have you thought of putting in a small shed area? I use one with my smaller houses for a more settled in vibe

I'm actually playing Not So Berry right now as my first ever legacy challenge! I don't have all the packs but I just googled "not so berry base game version" and started playing by the first modified set of rules I found, and it's been really enjoyable that way too!
I may not finish the elements collection for the mint gen bc I'm really struggling to find *anything* for it but honestly I don't really care if every requirement isn't met, I just wanna have fun with the different generations :'D My rose gen is currently a kid and I'm already really excited to play as him as he starts his aspiration and career!

I actually started playing the NSB challenge for the first time some time ago (Altough with certain changes with mccc to make it go better with short life span)
I'm currently on gen 5 and I still remember every day how Mint died 3 times. This challenge is wild

Before you make an extended version of not so Berry, can you maybe change some things in the original challenge? Bc sometimes the description of the gen doesn’t align with the rules and goals (for example rose gen description gives different vibe, plum gen description says they want to be a professional dancer but there’s no dancing career, orange gen description says they’re bad at being evil but they literally reach top fo criminal career and complete criminal aspiration so that doesn’t make sense). Or maybe can you change some traits bc I get it that it’s cool for the aesthetic that the colours match but it didn’t worked for half of the legacy. 2/3 traits for mint were green and not mint, only one out of three traits for green was actually green (and it was more mint) and in general for many gens the traits didn’t actually match the colours
I'm going to start the challenge, but I'll adapt a few career options as I don't have get to work, but where there isn't a pack issue I will stick to the rules - ready for chaos
I felt so accomplished when I finished the Not So Berry Challenge......I enjoyed it so much!!!
