If you are coming to Gatlinburg Tennessee and looking for a chairlift ride up the mountains we hope this tour video helps of the Gatlinburg SkyPark! What menu item would you like to try at their NEW Smoky Mountain Smash Restaurant the most? 🍔
Thank you for coming to the park and making this amazing video. The grating on the SkyBridge is new and we installed it to help get rocks and pebbles off shoes before walking on the glass, to prevent scratching the glass. Although I think the grating makes SkyBridge even more fun. Thanks for showcasing our new viewing area, Clayton's Landing, and our new hiking trails. Very informative.
That makes so much sense about the grating! Thanks for letting us know! We hope this helps other families planning a trip to Gatlinburg Tennessee in 2025 know what to expect when they get to the top of SkyPark!
I've been to the Smokies numerous times and never really wanted to go up the lift as I didn't figure there was much to it. But after this video I will be going up there on my next visit. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you. That was fun.. 😊Might just take a road trip up there Saturday . Only a little over 4 hours. Happy Holidays to you and your beautiful family.
I have family in the Knoxville area, and, at one time, one of my family members lived in Serville. I love the Gatlinburg area, and it offers so much for any taste. Thank you for the cool look of the SkyPark.
Thanks for another great video came here last year from Leicestershire england and coming back 2026 your videos are so helpful in planning our trips god bless
Nice work Ryan, as always. This one was a bit long for my tastes but the chapter guide you provided works well if people want to skip to something in particular they want to see. I always like music under a narration track but I know that's tough when the video is as long as this one. My wife and I have now lived in Maryville one full year. Despite all the work I had to do in our new home to get us settled in the past year, I did manage to do one hike to Laurel Falls. In 2025 I plan to do many more and to visit certain interesting sites like this. Maybe I'll see you on a trail! Best of luck to you in the new year!!!
Thanks David! My main audience I am trying to help is people who are researching about the SkyPark to make sure I gave them a thorough overview of what to expect. It's sometimes hard to balance too much music as I have watched videos that they over use music or have it too loud to understand what they are saying. Say hi anytime, hope you have a happy & healthy 2025!
@@AdventureIsOutThere I get it. Your video is a very good, thorough guide to this attraction and music under all that would be too much. Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to you and your family!
My wife and I have always enjoyed everything about the Smokies (except the traffic) but with our declining mobility we have to limit our adventures. Thank you for sharing sights and sounds that we can enjoy from our living room.
Heading back to Gatlinburg from St. Augustine, Florida on New Years Day. Can’t wait to go up to the Sky Park since we have never been and it looks amazing. Was kind of disappointed though, I’m a police officer and the discount is $2 a person. Not really sure what kind of a discount $2 is when the price is $41. Doesn’t make any sense to me.
Thanks for the update Ryan.....I love the chair lift to Anakeesta....but have not got brave enough to do this one to Skypark/bridge...lol....one day maybe..lol I do love the views here you are showing more than Anakeesta.
It was neat seeing the walking trail going down, since I wouldn't be able to see it otherwise. It would be scary if you ran into a bear on the trail though. With that thought, I'd opt to take the chair lift down.
I was there back in September and loved SkyPark. Only concern I have is that I almost lost my wallet on the chairlift, so a nice warning about buttoning up might help! 😮
So, random question: when you were hiking down, there were what I think are round cabins that back up to river. Do you know what those are? I tried googling them and looking on Google Earth but they’re not showing up with a name or anything. (28:04 on the right side of the frame) Thank you! We love your videos!
Have been up there several times but was very curious about the area built on the other side of the Skybridge & that walk path that goes all the way down! Looks like the outside seating area over there is bigger than on the main side?! That walk path down was interesting. Enjoyed the update ☺️. 🫎
Hi Ryan, wheelchair friendly means you have to be able to transfer onto the lift and hope they have a chair at the top. Sadly, Skypark is technically not handicap friendly as they do not provide any service, like Anakeesta does, that allows those like myself who are confined to a chair when in public, to visit them.
Just curious to know how your apprehension of heights affected you as a firefighter. I have a great fear of heights myself. You just gave me a grand tour of something I woukd never have seen otherwise! I live in the Piedmont region of NC and have cousins in the mountains of NC that I haven't seen in decades because of my fear and the fact that we are all elderly now and some of us can't travel much anymore. I love your content! You have a sweet family.
As I mention at the 4:00 mark in the video, it isn't heights that have ever bothered me rather feeling trapped (I have been on a chairlift that stopped for a LONG time, and started to panic). I could be up on high ladders/buildings with no issue. I ended up in some tough situations as a firefighter/paramedic and afterwards starting battling panic attacks/feeling trapped as I never previously did. We are glad you enjoy virtually joining us on our videos! 😁
Are they able to stop the chairlift for people to get on and off like they can at skyland ranch? Are they open in February? We loved skyland ranch last February. Would you recommend annakesta or the skypark more for a visit in February?
Yes, they are able to assist as we mention at 3:10 in the video. As far as Anakeesta vs SkyPark we recommend both if possible. If one has kids/grandkids the different playgrounds & mountain coasters that Anakeesta has will give them a bit more to do. But the glass bottom bridge is very unique to Gatlinburg SkyPark that all ages can enjoy (or be terrified crossing) 😁
It’s comical how you fret about the chairlift at the sky park, when you’ve done the zip line at Ober Mountain, and that chairlift to the zip line is a little bit higher than the sky park. 😂
It’s not heights that bother me as much as feeling trapped on something I have a hard time with as I explain 4:00 mark. I was more worried about the chairlift up to the zipline at Ober than the actual zipline (knowing it’s only about 60 seconds)
Horrible Restaurant. Waited over 30 minutes for 2 Burgers . Never had my order ready. Customers way after me were getting their orders before. But make sure you leave that tip jar out. Asked for a refund.

We came down from PA in April and one stop was here. It was an experience I'm glad we had.
@ Gatlinburg SkyPark & SkyBridge have some fantastic views!
A delicious hamburger just a plain one

Plant based chicken is what we would like to try.

Hopefully you can!
Such a great video. Thanks for coming and visiting the park.
Thanks Kristen! We are excited to highlight new things at SkyPark in the future!

Sitting at home mid afternoon in Australia, watching where we visited back in July. Really enjoyed our time in the mountains there.

Wow 😯 add new areas and love views of downtown Gatlinburg ❤❤❤
Oh no I not like thin trails made me nervous 😬 not want fall hurt.
Thank you Ryan.
The path is not too bad, especially after doing Mt. Leconte.
Those are beautiful views ❤
They are!

Love Sky Park! I’d have to try the Elk Burger at the new restaurant. The seating around the restaurant looks so nice. Thanks for another video!

If you can do Anakeesta’s chairlift, the SkyPark chairlift will be easy!
@AdventureIsOutThere i think it's the steepness looks alot more than Anakeesta..lol

Thanks for sharing, but that trail is very narrow and I think it will be easy to wash out when the rains come.
They check it everyday, there is places for water to drain.
It was neat seeing the walking trail going down, since I wouldn't be able to see it otherwise. It would be scary if you ran into a bear on the trail though. With that thought, I'd opt to take the chair lift down.
I'm not too worried about Black Bears when we go hiking. As long as we keep our distance they will keep theirs.
I'm afraid of heights!!!❤🎉

Was down there in September dolly woods and cross over that
We are out here now in Gatlinburg and it’s very busy. Going to Anakeesta on 12/22/24 amazing
It will be busy for the rest of the year now that school is out. Have a great time!

Correct, perhaps they will be able to have access up top in the future with their expansion!

We've been waiting on this post. The last time we were there, the skypark was completely shut down with construction. Missed the family this time😢
They were busy finishing up school for the year. I'll try to bring them up on a future vlog (Micah & Hannah have never been here).
Is there an option to take the trail up instead of taking the chairlift?
Not at this time, perhaps they will be able to offer that in the future!

Glass floors scare me!❤
👍
Could you tell me what brand of cap you're wearing?
Is it warm?
I mainly wear Columbia hats as they are one of the very few that actually fit comfortably for my big head. It doesn't do much as far as warmth.
@AdventureIsOutThere Thank you and I Really appreciate all of your videos...feel like I'm there enjoying the sights! Thank you brother!
I like the old version of the skylift lower station. But then again, I like nostalgic things. Gatlinburg is becoming too commercialized and crowded.
There is lots of nostalgic photos within the new ticket center & along the skytrail to enjoy!

Someone told me it cost extra to go across the bridge after you get up there is that true
No, the SkyBridge is included with your SkyPark ticket.
@@AdventureIsOutThere so there is no extra charges for any thing after you get to the top...correct ?
Can you walk up the trail and not have to pay?
There is a no trespassing sign. It’s for customers only.

It's a great ride. Up and down the mountain but 50 dollars a person that's a rip off sorry
Price depends on the day you go, they are as low as $29 and get cheaper with a discount or bundling with the aquarium.
