WOW! Aaron thank you for info and instructions. I'm really just learning SketchUp with dedication after 2 years wanting. My purpose is for poured concrete Foundations and forming to put on paper and take to the job sites. I'm still stumbling my way along and have SketchUp'ed (with Extensions help too) 4 various home Foundations. I even got a panel layout or form lines to one click applied to four test walls. Thanks to all you trainers and Matt Donley's Book SketchUp to Layout 2nd edition, in major part.
This AR, I did with a 77'x65' with 34 corners/walls, footing, outline. AND I'M STANDING INSIDE AND OUTSIDE AND 360 DEG VISION!!! WOW!
A bit blurry to start, and takes a bit to get oriented. AND, I got it to just show the full model floating around scaled down.
This is beyond my expectations and may even be a game changer. Out on a job site actually looking at how the foundation (and or house/building) will look before construction. As Phil Risutto use to say; "HOLY COW"!
And I am able to do it
Thank you again for information and instructions
    Bill

This is one of the coolest additions to SU! Awesome is the correct word to use in this video! Bravo.

This is so simple & easy, totally democratizes the process. Users do not have to download an app in order to view the model. The ground-plane detection, shadows and occlusion of objects behind the 3D model is awesome!!!!! I wonder what the backend vision technology behind it is based...

So cool! This will be great when you are having a discussion with your partner where you want the couch moved to or seeing how wallpaper looks just by holding up your phone.

I tried that on my iPad Pro and it worked perfectly.

Now that was something new. Thanks for showing, will try. How does one upload a model for AR? And does it only work in 2022 version?

    Hi Aaron:
I installed the trial of SU for the iPad a few days BEFORE VIEWING this video... perhaps THE INSTALLATION of the SUiPad app changes the way scanning the QR code works ? If in the 3D Warehouse, via the browse (Google Chrome) of my PC or my iPad or my iPhone 13, scanning the QR code does not work. What happens is a blank screens fashes then nothing but SEVERAL LINES OF CODE APPEARS (perhaps 50+ lines). Do you have any clue as to what is going on?
Note: If I use the iPad app to generate an .USDz formated file that works beautifully. I also attached the .USDz file to an email and sent to several different people they were able to use it with their iPad or iPhone.

This is really Awesome…. I have tried it with a couple of my models that I did in the spring… but the latest model that I uploaded does not have the AR button…. Any idea how to fix this?…. (Privacy set to public, file size under 1mb… 5000 polygons….)

i was so excited.. It just opened the skp model in object mode.. and showed device not compatible when tried in "load desktop site"😏
Is gyroscope necessary for this?? Any specific app to be installed??
    Edit: Motorola G51

    Wooow! That's a news!
But I have so many questions. Can I make my own object and view it in real space without uploading to the Warehouse?
It would be a very interesting function to experiment with.

Not quite yet, but you could upload it and keep it private so only you can view it.

He probado esta magnifica opción de 3D Warehouse usando AR en mi Samsung Galaxy A10 con Android 11 y no funciona, sólo aparece el modelo 3D sin activar la cámara

Are you using the default browser (Chrome)?

@@steveguzman3623 El navegador por defecto instalado en el telefono es el Chrome, además tiene los permisos activados. El problema es que aparece el modelo 3D en la pantalla pero no se activa la cámara con el fondo para que funcione el AR

Do you need an AR app? I tried it in my phone and it just downloaded the .skp file.

If your default browser is Safari for iOS or Chrome for Android it should trigger your device's native AR viewer.
