Hey all, I had a very long intro today explaining gen 6 and how there were a lot of mons to choose from. If you want to just get straight to the list just skip to 4:00! Sorry video starts here commentors for stealing your thunder lol.
He was the MVP in my semi-competitive teams. I always ran rain and would have him next to a water/ground type- either Shellos or Mega Swampert. I would use 100% accurate Thunder, Parabolic Charge for recovery, Hyper Voice, and something else. Either Rain Dance, Grass Knot, or Dark Pulse. Those in combination with the passive healing from Dry Skin in the rain meant that he was just hard to take down.
Love your content always❤… however an idea came to me while watching.. how would the newer Pokémons rank without the physical special split 🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔 that would be nice 😊
AND they gave Lando-T Sandsear Storm which made it a very acceptable Electric type checker on rain teams since Sandsear Storm is the buffed Scorching Sands with the ability to hit both opponents with a 20% chance to burn & never misses in the rain.
I'm surprised Aegislash and Greninja are not on this list considering they were banned to Ubers. If this list is region exclusive, either of them will be on the top spot.
@@nickdentoom1173you are smoking packs, this is mostly smogon and while is ash-gren was ban in gen 7 vgc, in gen 6 oras it was ban to ubers due to having no effective counter that can't be mitigated by protean
Highlights from this gen for me (other than the starters) are talonflame, gogoat, heliolisk, Malamar, dragalge, avalugg, noivern and Tyrantrum. In terms of Pokémon design, gen 6 is goated.
Tyrantrum is so amazing! Its design is flawless and its shiney makes it even better. VERY underrated mon. It was the only one to ever unseat Nidoking from its number 1 perch on my list.
i went to see how ferro gets his moves last gen and its likely that if he comes back he loses nothing of value, knock off and toxic are egg moves and it naturally learns gyro ball so it would be amazing if released
I think it's pretty objective gen 6 has the most lackluster new pokemon, amount number and designs. Can't believe it's 10 years this October since X and Y
6 had the best Pokémon since gen 5 tbh. 7 was decent then 8 and 9 just took a nose dive especially design wise, plus quality > quantity. Plus we got megas and the last decent remakes we’ll probably ever get
@@sharebear421 There were definitely some very plain mons from gens 8 and 9 but we also got some really good gems in mons like Dragapault, Hatterene, Cinderace, Rilaboom, Meowscarada. Skeledirge, Armarouge, Ceruledge, etc. I could name more but I am not trying to clog up the comment. Pokemon needs more production time bc the quality of performance for SV leaves a lot to be desired.
I dont think the 10 base points Garchomp loses in its speed, makes it that much less viable. For I still beileve it was viable strong mega ans had a cool design, as 10 points is not a huge difference and especially in a double battle sneerio where you cma have a teamate wirh tailwind to make uo for it if you wanted but even without the Mega gains more bulk and offense in exchange for 10 less speed so it makes up to being able ro get outspeeded by those mons that would be able to outspeed it after Mega Evolution as it can takw hirs better and much more powerful offensively especially under sandstorm buffing its ground, rock ans steel attacks for Mega Garchomps ability. Although 2 megas cannot be used in battle however i forgot is it possible to do a double battle with another player sometime in gen 6? And thus each being able to use 1 Mega , thus opening the possibility of havinf two megas side by side in double battle? If so then Mega Garchomp and Mega Tyranitar would make a great duo but even if not regular Tyranitar will also do fine alongside Mega Chomp
Was darkrai banned for OU? I saw a lot of people utilizing darkrai for their X and Y teams. In fact when you introducing landorus I thought you were leading towards darkrai
Absolutely. Darkrai was in OU for an extremely short time (like Blaziken). Being fast, having the best sleeping move while also damaging you while hitting you with a powerful special attack. Oh, yeah, Darkrai was not OU material!
honestly, i still dont 100% understand ferrothorn and the love it gets. first its a mystic umbreon favorite with 20 speed. yeah theres iron barbs but whats the point if a competitive player will assuredly OKO the thing with a simple flamethrower? so its a good terrain setter? whats the point when literally anything thats even alittle faster than it can again knock it out with any fire type move before it can do anything meaningful? i will say, honestly i like ferrothorn i like its design and unique typing but while playing a play through you can say just dont let it battle a fire type. but competitively, i can guarantee any trainer with a fire type and or one with a pokemon that knows flamethrower or fire blast. in gen 6 between ORAS and XY, i can absolutely be sure theres ALOT of pokemon can easily throttle a ferrothorn. ps Mystic is a real one for telling us when the list starts. i like mystic and his videos but ALOT of intros are so much of the same explanations and can get really long, i just skip right to the start of the lists or teams everytime. i get the explanations for first timers but its like, lets get on with it...
never cook again 3/4th of your moves can't even be used until your assault vest gets knocked off, the best set is something like knock of /leech seed, spikes, powerwhip/twave, gyro / twave leftovers/ rocky helmet
@@CharaTF2 um goober have you ever heard of switching out pokemon? Specifically to avoid knock off 🤔 which literally means it can be sent back in and out to leech seed and pivot out again. And with even half a functional brain it's still a fool proof strategy unless your opponent can read your mind or you aren't being smart with the pivots and setting up. 🤷
@@your_god_lucifer2386 yeah i know but in gen 6 every team has a knock absorber in their mega and the same goes for gen 7 but with megas and z moves. why would you run an item specifically to get rid of it, choicers running trick doesn't count because that breaks walls/setup sweepers
Sees the strongest Pokemon in gen 6 Me: No Greninja and Aegislash despite their groundbreaking success in competitive battling?! Like WHAT?! Banned or not they should get some recognition here
My god the Latias/Latios Megas were hands down the worst megas they ever did. Then both looking the exact same was a dumb idea, however if that was your plan… maybe make the original design actual good? Even a little bit?
Pretty dam good with Aerialite ability with Return and max friendship, bulk and still great offense although only slightly more than regular Salamence but with the insane buff in bulk it got, and Aerialite ability turning normal type moves into flying type moves thus gaining stab plus an additional 30% buff thus it was better to run normal moves on mega Salamence over actual flying moves. Also having a great special attack you could also run hyper beam instead of return so you see how much better it can use it's forgotten flying stab?
This crap is confusing. So many gen one amd gen 5 pokemon in this. Was there ANY Kalos pokemon besides Talonflame? Bad list. KALOS is gem 6. Hoenn is gen 3.

It’s pronounced FUR-AH-thorn, “Patrick Star”! 🤨
Just so you guys know gen 6 is 10 years old. We’re getting old 😭
Yet it's still awesome
Heliolisk is my favorite gen 6 mon. Underrated imo it’s too bad they made him part normal instead of just electric or electric/ground/fire
Reason I like Heliolisk is because it’s part Normal lol 😆
I feel ground would work, but normal is more thematic and type wise
I think Normal is meant to imply that Heliolisk is as much a regular solar-powered lizard as it is an Electric zappy boi 🌞

They mentioned at the beginning "No Ubers", so that explains it.
Greninja was only banned in UBERS in Gen 7, due to the Ash-Greninja form. Without the form, Greninja isn't even in top 20 strongest gen 6 mons.
