The time line is not belieable. the neighbor saw them leave last Friday and sarah came to the house that Saturday. So grandma and Emily were only there over night. How were Karen and David gone for 2 weeks
The possible charges for locking the grandmother and the baby in the basement could be false imprisonment, child abandonment, abuse of an elderly person and murder one to manslaughter. However one detail in this story that's overlooked is in the United States we have 911 and combined with a smartphone it seems strange that the grandmother just didn't call for help. An old saying at least to make the story believable is "the devil is in the details."

She has her phone and she couldn't call for help......so she's just as responsible for their condition if not more so because she could have called for help as soon as she was locked in
I was. completely lost trying to follow this story. The timings were all muddled up. Reading it again the two were only in the basement overnight and the couple were only away for at most for a day and a half,!!
